"Other animals need to see me to know my position."

"But bats can use echolocation."

"No wonder they can easily lock onto my position in the woods at night."

Illumi gazed at the bat in the sky above, thinking inwardly. This way, it can be confirmed that the ability user and the sniper are not the same person.

For one Nen user to synchronize senses with their prey while simultaneously performing precise sniping is impossible. After all, the Nen user's own senses would already be synchronized with the animal.

"Those mercenaries aren't pursuing?"

Illumi, currently running, noticed that those bodyguards and mercenaries hadn't continued to pursue him.

"Click!"

A soft sound. Illumi's figure again vanished with a 'shua'.

"Boom!"

Where he stood, a large amount of dirt and grass roots were flung up – another landmine.

Illumi paid it no mind. Landmines had little effect on him because his speed allowed him to completely escape the blast radius the instant he stepped on one.

"However, the most troublesome thing now isn't this, but that sniper."

"If that sniper isn't dealt with, I will still be severely restricted in the upcoming battle."

"Even lose my life because of it."

Illumi needed a helper right now. No, it should be said, he needed his own ability right now. Seven deadly sins, seven different emotions, seven different individuals.

He already had ideas regarding his ability back when he awakened Nen.

His inspiration came from a very popular anime he watched as a child – those homunculi representing different sins were his source of inspiration.

He wanted, like in that anime, to separate out seven Nen beasts representing different emotions.

However, he couldn't separate his own negative emotions.

So, he came up with an idea: since he couldn't separate his own negative emotions, couldn't he just obtain them from others?

Therefore, his ability developed three characteristics.

First, his Nen beasts must be born from others, and their initial strength depends on the intensity of that person's emotions.

Second, this also determined that the Nen beasts would likely possess self-awareness. The strength of this self-awareness also depended on the intensity of the emotions absorbed from that person.

Nen beasts representing negative emotions could absorb the negative emotions of others to enhance themselves.

However, as the Nen beasts continuously grew stronger, their self-awareness would also become stronger. And stronger self-awareness meant the master's control over them would grow weaker.

Third, once a Nen beast was born, unless it died, it could not be reborn from another person. After rebirth, everything had to start from scratch.

"But first, need to deal with this annoying bat."

Illumi looked up at the bat overhead, his expression cold. Bats could use echolocation; therefore, even in darkness, the opponent's sniper could easily know his position.

Thinking this, Illumi, who was running towards the villa, abruptly changed direction, rushing towards the small woods on the other side.

"Hm?"

"Twice looked up at my little cutie, now suddenly runs towards the woods nearby."

Inside the villa hall, Maynard Morris raised an eyebrow, grinned, seemingly having figured out Illumi's intention.

"Isn't it obvious he wants to kill my little cutie?"

"There's more than just one 'little cutie' on this land, Nen-using boy."

In the small woods, Illumi looked towards the bat. The opponent actually flew high above the small woods, not entering the woods itself.

"Figured out my intention, but only guessed half right."

Illumi leaped rapidly between branches. While passing one branch, he casually broke off a thin, long twig and stripped off the leaves.

"Gyo." (Focus)

Concentrating aura in his eyes, he looked up, locking onto the bat's position. He raised his right hand holding the twig.

"Swish!"

A sound of something cutting through the air. The bat flying in the air was pierced by the twig with a 'pfft' sound and fell from the sky.

"This way, when I activate my ability, no one will come bother me."

Illumi looked at the bat struggling on the ground where it fell, then turned his head to look outside the small woods. The bodyguards and the previous mercenaries had caught up.

But this time, they seemed to have no intention of engaging Illumi in close combat. Instead, they directly shouldered various rifles and pistols, firing into the woods at Illumi.

"Rat-tat-tat..."

A series of gunshots rang out. Illumi dropped to the ground, weaving and darting between the trees, rapidly approaching the group of bodyguards.

"Careful! He's coming over!"

Someone in the bodyguard group exclaimed in alarm. But unfortunately, with their reaction speed and close combat ability, their throats were slit by Illumi before they could even retaliate.

The 'puchi' sound of blood spraying was incessant. A rain of blood fell upon the grassy ground.

"Damn it! Even attacking many-on-one can't deal with him!"

A bald man carrying a long-handled broadsword ran frantically towards the villa direction. He was Moen, the mercenary who had escaped earlier.

"We people are fundamentally no match for this brat! Maynard has to step in!"

Illumi watched the fleeing figure, bent down, picked up an M4 carbine, and aimed at the running back.

"How can I let you run? Let's use you as the material for the first Nen beast."

"Bang!"

A gunshot rang out. Moen, running frantically, felt his body jolt. Intense pain flooded his brain. As his body fell, he looked down at his heart area.

"What? He even knows how to use a gun?"

Moen looked at the blood seeping from his heart area, his consciousness blurring, and collapsed to the ground with a 'thump'.

He had previously seen Illumi fight entirely using various killing techniques, subconsciously assuming a brat of Illumi's age wouldn't know how to use a gun.

But in reality, the Zoldyck family's assassination training covered more than just hand-to-hand combat; firearms proficiency was also required.

It was just that in this world, due to the existence of Nen abilities, firearms weren't so invincible. The myriad Nen abilities were far more formidable than guns.

Illumi, holding the rifle, approached the fallen Moen, gazing at his pain-filled face.

"Grey fear and unwillingness... this is the emotion you are radiating right now."

"And mixed within this fear and unwillingness, there is also anger."

Illumi raised his right hand. A continuous stream of aura surged out from all the aura nodes in his body, converging in his palm like flowing water.

"Now, transform your anger into power, for my use."

Illumi's right palm opened, slowly turning upright. The aura in his palm flowed down like liquid, scattering onto Moen, who hadn't stopped breathing yet.

"Mmph... mmph... mmph..."

Moen's eyes stared wide open. Although he couldn't see aura, he could still feel a mysterious liquid enveloping him; it felt like something was being stripped away from him.

Those white, translucent liquids, after falling onto Moen, rapidly spread, completely enveloping Moen's entire body.

Soon, Moen stopped struggling. And the aura enveloping him began to condense. The white aura started to coalesce, forming a turbid mass of energy.

Its color constantly changed, its form continuously twisted, its size gradually expanding.

"Be born, Wrath!"

At Illumi's call, the turbid energy twisted and expanded, finally forming the shape of a tall human.
