Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Holding the Stone of Creation

In the pitch-black cave.

When the stone slab was taken out, a faint light emerged from it.

In front of the two of them.

The walls also glowed faintly, revealing the frame of the relic's doorway.

With this faint light, Kana could finally see that the cave was about four to five meters high.

Half of it below was a pool, the other half was stone ground connected to the doorway's frame.

The doorway that emitted the faint light was about 4 meters high, with a width of 3 meters, enough to clearly see the doorway's seam and a missing circular hole in the center.

The pattern on the doorway was a regular triangle emblem, with some hollow carvings around it. However, due to the long passage of time, most of the hollow carvings were no longer visible.

Kana stepped forward and embedded the stone slab from his arms into the central hollow, matching perfectly.

However, he did not directly press both stone slabs in together.

Instead, he first picked up the right half, which was the piece the Murloc Prophet was holding.

He gently placed it in and pressed it firmly.

It fit snugly.

With a forceful push, the right half of the door was pushed open, and only after opening did they see that the right half connected to a corridor.

In the center of the door seam was something like a wall, blocking the connection between the two sides.

Thinking for a moment, he also placed the other half of the stone slab.

He pushed the door open the same way.

The other side looked exactly the same as this side.

From the entrance, it was divided into two sides, meaning the stone slab was split into two halves from the beginning.

"Your Highness, which side should we go to first?"

"The right side." After all, in the past game, the right side had already been explored by players, and Kana was more familiar with the information inside.

Alyris nodded, drew a blade, and walked ahead.

As soon as the two stepped into the right passage, balls of firelight lit up along the walls, illuminating the path forward for them.

Walking in, Kana tapped on the middle wall, clearly showing only a thin layer from both sides, but when tapped from their side, it felt quite solid.

Completely impossible to determine if the other side was hollow.

The corridor was not narrow or long, about six to seven meters.

And on the walls on both sides of the corridor, apart from these natural flames, there were no murals or carvings.

The two cautiously walked through the corridor and were greeted by a hall.

The hall was triangular, with a humanoid statue about three meters tall in the center.

Perhaps due to the enclosed space, the statue was well preserved, the gray statue clearly depicting a somewhat bald middle-aged man.

He gazed ahead, his left hand behind his back, his right hand holding a cube.

The pedestal on which the statue stood had a shield embedded on the front, covered in dust and matching the statue in color.

And directly in front of the statue was a small sculpture resembling a Holy Grail, about 1.5 meters tall.

The Holy Grail was indeed a container.

At the center of the Holy Grail's sculpture, some items were stored.

Upon closer inspection, it was filled with round coins and various stones.

A thick layer of dust covered these, making it unclear what the coins were made of. It was only apparent that these stones were some kind of gemstones.

Apart from that, there was nothing else in this triangular space.

Alyris looked puzzled, not understanding the purpose of this construction, was it to showcase the appearance of the sculpture itself?

But judging by the sculpture, he shouldn't look any good anyway.

Kana walked to the front of the statue, and on the round stone platform beneath the statue, dense text was visible.

Upon examination, it was clear that the text was very similar to the font used in the Safro Kingdom.

With some guessing, it could be deciphered that the texts introduced some of the life stories of the statue's owner.

An alchemist from the Ancient Alchemy Empire.

Modern alchemy perfectly inherited the techniques and knowledge used by the Ancient Alchemy Empire, with the main branch of study not interrupted.

The highlight of this statue owner's life was his alchemical creation.

"So what is this relic used for?" Alyris couldn't help but ask curiously.

Kana retrieved the shield from the front of the round platform, and it was a small round shield, its original appearance completely obscured by thick dust.

"This is a tomb. In the Ancient Alchemy Empire, alchemists loved to build their tombs like this."

"A tomb?" Alyris was very surprised, because it didn't look like a burial place at all. There were no coffins, no place for storing a body, just a statue and a Holy Grail sculpture.

It was just too simple.

Looking at the sculpture, Alyris suddenly realized and pointed at the statue: "Could it be..."

"That's right, in the Ancient Alchemy Empire, some alchemists would have their bodies cremated into ashes immediately after death.

Their tomb would have a sculpture, carved in the appearance of the tomb's owner. The sculpture would preemptively have a space reserved for storing the ashes.

Finally, friends or relatives would fill the sculpture completely."

As Kana said this, he shook the dusty small round shield in his hand: "The bottom of the round platform would record some important life stories, and would include their most representative alchemical work."

Clearly, the small round shield in Kana's hand was this statue's, the tomb owner's, most representative alchemical work.

As for the Holy Grail in front of the statue, it didn't have much significance other than to symbolize the era, an external manifestation of alchemy at that time.

Depending on the era, the sculpture would switch between something like a Holy Grail, a crucible, a tree, a pyramid, and such.

Kana wasn't very familiar with this aspect of the setting.

But while he might not know the detailed settings, he was well aware of the rewards. As long as there is a Holy Grail or crucible, the rewards are always the best.

Because inside such sculptures, valuable items would be placed.

After listening to Kana's explanation, Alyris nodded knowingly: "Your Highness is truly knowledgeable."

Following His Highness every day, you can learn something new.

And now she's used to it, just listen to His Highness if you don't understand, His Highness is always right.

After finishing their discussion, both of them looked toward the Holy Grail sculpture.

The sculpture wasn't small, and the space inside wasn't small either, yet it was filled with coins and gemstones.

It displayed a kind of opulence.

The items placed inside the Holy Grail were already really valuable, and unsurprisingly, all the items in this Holy Grail were needed for alchemy.

Alyris glanced at Kana, then reached in and took out a gemstone.

After confirming there was no issue, she nodded at Kana.

While Kana's gaze was fixed on one of the gemstones in the Holy Grail.

He slowly reached out, took the gemstone, and wiped the dust off, revealing its light blue exterior.

This gemstone was no different from the others around it, even rougher on the surface, entirely unpolished, more as if knocked off a larger gemstone.

It was very small, only about a third the size of a palm.

This was no ordinary gemstone; it was the main reason Kana came to this relic.

[Creation Stone Fragment (Small)]

Without Kana even using his magic power to datafy it, the fragment's name appeared directly before him.

But only the name.

Alyris glanced at the gemstone Kana held, and found it no different from the others, even less appealing.

She shifted her focus back to the Holy Grail, picked up a few coins, and wiped them off.

Most of the coins turned out to be silver coins, only a portion were gold coins, which made Alyris a bit disappointed.

If they were all gold coins, that would really be a huge fortune.

But even if most were silver coins, it was still a significant haul.

As Kana held onto that Creation Stone Fragment, he could basically confirm that his Golden Finger was created by a fragment.

He was well aware of the Stone of Creation's settings.

Its introversion meant that only those who truly knew its worth could discover its essence.

The easiest people to discover the Stone of Creation are those who have contacted and used it. Those who have used it naturally have a certain connection with it.

Of course, this connection could only be detected when close enough.

In reality, holding the Stone of Creation for the first time, Kana was momentarily excited.

His excitement began affecting the Stone of Creation, and feeling this, Kana quickly placed the gemstone back into the Holy Grail, calming himself down.
