"Uhm, sorry about that." The doctor figured he had said it too rudely. He should probably get his next cup of coffee while attending the conference. He cleared his throat and explained a little deeper. "We did what we could. His body just… melted from the wound. It was so strange… but not unheard of. It happened in other hospitals. I'm heading to a conference about it."
"I… okay, I'll look for him. Thank you, doctor." Claude only feigned a small smile and jogged toward the place the doctor told him about.
The hospital's morgue was enormous, but only one wing was accessible for visitors. He walked unaccompanied, turning heads of some custodians who worked there. Before they could approach him, Claude found Len exiting a room with two of his Gammas. Their eyes met, and Len hurried to catch Claude with an arm.
Claude didn't fall or something. He just figured that was Len's version of a hug right now. Still, he asked, "Mr Han died?"
