Chapter 80 - Dai Mubai Starts Courting Death, Kitty Blows Up

Two afternoons later, Nangong Lingyun arrived at Soto City, having timed it precisely.

Xiao Wu bounced happily in front, the little cat walked silently on the left, while the big cat, Zhu Lanling, glanced around, either out of curiosity or seemingly searching for something.

He himself had his hands in his pockets, a faint smile on his face, composed and relaxed, exuding an air of unshakable confidence.

This handsome man and beautiful women combo immediately drew the attention of many passersby.

The figures of the two feline ladies were ridiculously eye-catching. Even though they wore deliberately oversized black robes and veils over their faces, the curves outlined by their clothes and the hint of visible skin gave away more than a little.

Nangong Lingyun was even more attention-grabbing—standing 1.85 meters tall with a slender frame, thick black hair tied into a jade crown, and dressed in an elegant custom-made blue-purple robe that radiated noble air. There was even an ethereal aura flowing subtly around him, as if he merged naturally with heaven and earth.

Just one look at him and it was clear—this is who those poetic lines about a peerless noble young man were meant to describe.

Not long after entering the city, Xiao Wu's sharp eyes suddenly caught sight of a distinctive building.

It looked like a giant blooming rose, and the entire outer wall was painted a striking rose red.

In the midst of the boring square-shaped buildings all around, this one stood out like a sore thumb. It was practically begging to be noticed.

As expected, in the very next second, the bunny girl's eyes lit up. She grabbed his arm excitedly and said:

"Brother Yun, Brother Yun! Can we stay here tonight? Pretty please?"

"Alright."

Nangong Lingyun feigned helplessness, then turned and walked inside with the two cat girls.

As soon as they stepped in, a sweet and refreshing rose fragrance filled the air.

The decor was equally extravagant—creamy white, silver, and rose red clashed and blended in an oddly stimulating way. The curving lines of the interior gave off a suggestive, intimate vibe.

Nothing had even happened yet, and already things felt ambiguous—blushes, heartbeats, the whole deal.

Yup. This hotel owner clearly knew how to play.

Nangong Lingyun walked straight to the front desk."Little brother, please give us two of your best rooms."

The hotel clerk quickly stood up upon hearing that, scanning the group and immediately showing a look of surprise.

Whoa. Three at once? And all of them this hot?

Legendary!

But he quickly buried his reaction, adopting a very professional tone:

"Sir, are you sure you want two rooms?"

Working the front desk at a high-end place like this meant he wasn't just book-smart—he was socially elite. Reading the room, faking ignorance, and playing dumb when needed? Second nature to him.

Nangong Lingyun put on an innocent face."Is there a problem with that?"

The clerk's eyes sparkled with understanding, and after giving a sly "I got you, bro" smile, he shook his head like a drumstick in an earthquake.

"Sorry, we only have one room left."

No joke. The reason Rose Gold Hotel did such great business wasn't just the decor—it was also because the staff had top-tier street smarts and people skills. Everyone in Soto City knew their reputation.

In case that line didn't land hard enough, the clerk added:

"You came at a tough time. It's the soul master academy enrollment season.

With students returning and parents bringing kids in, rooms are tight citywide. We're only free because our rates are steep.

But no worries! These are luxury suites. Plenty of space, fully equipped—more than enough for four guests."

As he spoke, his eyes once again delivered a knowing look that needed no further explanation.

Just as Nangong Lingyun looked "conflicted,"

Zhu Zhuqing decided to be the considerate one and stepped forward:

"One room is fine. We'll take it."

She had tents in her storage ring. Worst case? Sleep on the floor. She wasn't picky about accommodations.

However, just as the clerk began processing the room, an arrogant voice laced with anger suddenly sounded from behind.

"Hey, I think that room belongs to me, doesn't it?"

Everyone turned at once to see three figures walking slowly toward the counter.

One man, two women.

The man in the middle was tall with broad shoulders and had distinctive pale golden long hair.

But what stood out most were his eyes—deep blue with dual pupils. Very sinister.

Clinging to either arm were a pair of flamboyantly dressed, curvaceous twin girls, practically hanging on him. Their bodies pressed tightly against his, their expressions flirty and suggestive, milking every bit of their physical assets without a care for onlookers.

Zhu Zhuqing was stunned when she saw this.

But almost instantly, cold light flashed in her usually quiet eyes, and her chest visibly heaved in anger.

Though it had been years, she would never forget her own fiancé's face—especially one with such unique features.

Dai Mubai, on the other hand, didn't recognize the veiled cat-girl hidden behind Nangong Lingyun, nor did he pick up on anything unusual. He just felt that the other side's gaze seemed... unfriendly.

Ignoring the group, Young Master Dai frowned and scolded the clerk:

"Are you new here?Don't you know there's always a room reserved for me at this hotel?Go call your manager."

That one line pushed Zhu Zhuqing's already boiling anger past the breaking point.

Especially when she thought of everything she'd endured over the years—how she and her aunt had nearly died in Star Dou Forest just days ago.

In that moment, more than just rage erupted—a crushing sense of injustice exploded alongside it.

If seeing that scene was just a betrayal of affection, that wouldn't even sting too badly. Born into royalty and raised to marry into it, she had already resigned herself to such compromises.

But now? Dai Mubai's words implied that this wasn't some one-off wild night—he'd been living like this for years.

A prince about to enter a duel ring, instead of training and cultivating diligently, was out here sinking into hedonism.

That was what Zhu Zhuqing couldn't accept.

She wanted to grab Dai Mubai by the throat and scream:

**"You're out here enjoying life. What about me? What am I supposed to be?What about the people dragged down because of you?

All these years of walking on eggshells, near-death training, pushing myself sleeplessly...

Getting fatally injured and still refusing to give up—Was it all just a damn joke in the end?"**

Mixed with her anger and grief, a strange sense of relief also washed over her.

Back in the Star Dou Forest, when she'd started to feel something for Nangong Lingyun, there was a trace of guilt.

But now? Now she felt completely justified.
