Fourteen years ago, at Uchiha Tajima's residence.
Caressing his wife's swollen belly, a young Uchiha Tajima beamed with joy. Gazing at the dappled tree shadows outside, he decided their first child would be named Madara.
A crisp knock interrupted. Puzzled, Tajima opened the door to find his long-absent mentor, Uchiha Yao.
"Teacher, you've kept to yourself these years. What brings you today?" Tajima asked, ushering him in warmly.
"Tajima—or rather, Clan Leader," Yao said, expressionless, beginning to bow.
"Teacher, no need for formalities. I'll always be your student," Tajima said, stopping the bow, ever respectful.
"Etiquette matters," Yao insisted.
"No need, really. What's on your mind?" Tajima pressed, shaking his head.
Yao paused, then lifted his head, his inky eyes deep and unreadable. "I've outlived my son. Kin left only Gin. I want to live with him, to spare his childhood from loneliness."
Tajima's face fell. The old clan leader had entrusted him with two Mangekyo-awakened children, urging their careful guidance. Their immense power, if unchecked, could be a ticking bomb. Regretfully, he declined. "I'm sorry, Teacher."
Seeing Tajima's conflict, Yao, unsurprised, softened. "Then let me join their research. I heard from Mio you're studying their Sharingan. I can help."
"Very well, thank you, Teacher," Tajima agreed, unable to refuse. Yao's expertise in Sharingan research was unmatched.
Yao's addition greatly aided the children's growth. Satisfied, he left after a brief farewell, vanishing into the night.
Years later, Yao joined the research team, his skill gradually eclipsing Mio to lead the project.
At the time, Tajima's wife was nearing childbirth. Juggling clan duties and family, Tajima left the children's Mangekyo research to Yao.
But Tajima wasn't careless. Rumors of Yao's increasingly erratic behavior prompted him to prepare contingencies. Besides Mio as deputy, he assigned loyal Uchiha Yan to guard the institute and monitor Yao.
Years passed, and Tajima's children were born.
Due to his status, Uchiha Gin was allowed limited outings under supervision, while Nameless, constrained by her Yachihoko technique, remained confined to the institute.
This calm persisted until six years ago.
"What? Yao wants to train the children as war 'weapons'?" Tajima, reviewing documents, looked up in shock at a worried Mio.
"Yes. Yao's research shows Gin's Mangekyo complements Nameless's," Mio reported, holding a file. "Nameless's Kagutsuchi can enhance Gin's Amaterasu, transforming black flames into versatile Fire Release with greater lethality. Gin's Tsukuyomi can mass-apply Nameless's Yachihoko seals, with Yachihoko's chakra drain fueling Tsukuyomi, creating a perpetual cycle."
"Gin's his grandson. How could he?" Tajima asked, baffled. As clan leader, he knew "war weapons" meant dehumanizing torment, reducing them to mindless tools.
"I don't know, but he's begun experiments, likely starting with Nameless," Mio said, his gaunt face tense. He knew Yachihoko's mind-control and chakra-drain made it a strategic asset but a catastrophic risk if unstable.
"No! Stop him immediately. Elder Mio, take his place and ensure the children are calmed," Tajima ordered.
"Yes!" Mio departed swiftly.

At the institute, in a sterile white room with two beds, a boy lounged by the window, yawning. His listless eyes scanned the scenery, fluffy curls swaying in the breeze. His handsome face bore a soothing smile, unaware of the looming nightmare.
This was Uchiha Gin—not a native but a transmigrator who'd drowned and washed up in this world.
Born into a seemingly primitive era, he'd panicked, thinking he'd landed in a brick-for-toilet-paper age, racking his brain for soap-making tips.
But in his cradle, spotting the Uchiha fan behind his father, he perked up. He'd landed in Naruto—as an Uchiha! As long as it wasn't the night of the massacre, he could soar.
Reality disappointed. The era was far pre-canon, with no cheats. He resolved to survive as a normal kid, biding his time.
His new family was solid. His father, Uchiha Kin, was charismatic and strong, a Namikaze-like figure. His mother, stern but warm, doted on him endlessly.
A mysterious grandfather, Uchiha Yao, seemed distant, more attached to Kin than Gin.
Gin thought he'd landed a slice-of-life script, but tragedy struck. Soon after bonding with his parents, news of their frontline deaths arrived.
Perhaps due to his modern emotional depth, grief and rage triggered his Mangekyo Sharingan, a transmigrator's pride. Exhausted, he fell into a coma.
Awakening, he found himself under the old clan leader's protection, alongside a neighbor girl whose parents, Kin's subordinates, had also perished.
After many twists, the two orphans ended up at the institute.
"Yawn!" Stretching, sunlight glinted off Gin's curly hair. His lazy aura shone as he turned to the slender girl on the other bed. "Light, you really don't want to go out? I can ask Uncle to bring you next time. Guess what? Izuna wet the bed, and Aunt chewed him out!"
Gin's eyes crinkled with laughter. As a transmigrator, knowing his cousins were the legendary Madara and Izuna, he couldn't resist "mentoring" them:
- Achievement: Flick one-year-old Madara's bits
- Achievement: Ruffle two-year-old Madara's hair
- Achievement: Watch three-year-old Madara dance
Glancing around slyly, he cupped his hand like a megaphone, whispering, "But I know it was Madara's sheet. That kid's sneaky, blaming Izuna 'cause he's younger…"
The girl, eyes closed, opened them, her black gaze exasperated. Rolling her eyes, she stood. "Stop telling me your brothers' embarrassing stories. I'm not interested."
"As for going out, I've nothing left out there. It's fine here, especially with you…" Orphaned, with no kin outside, her only anchor was Uchiha Gin.
Her gaze softened on the goofy boy trying to cheer her. Changing tack, she said, "Gin, if you're bored, visit your grandpa. He's been holed up in the lab for months. Aren't you worried?"
"Ugh, why bring him up? He just drags us to the lab for tests, exhausting us without even a candy. Elder Yan's better—always sneaking me sweets," Gin said, eyes drooping, saltily complaining about Yao.
Eight years ago, the two children arrived at the institute. Tajima visited often at first, but as clan leader, his visits dwindled.
Gin, occasionally taken to Tajima's home, fared better, while Light, her Sharingan unstable and Yachihoko immature, was confined under Mio's watch.
Later, a new researcher arrived—Gin's rarely seen grandfather, Yao. Taking over from Mio, Yao frequently interacted with the children, even taking photos together.
