Grwaaaal...
Our stomachs growl at the exact same time.
I laugh. "Okay, okay, let's eat something first!"
"Yes yes, hungry!" Jiang bounces a little.
"You already ate like… half the snack cabinet, though."
"It was tiny food," he pouts.
"Oh really?" I snort. "Let's make a proper meal for once. We've been surviving on instant ramen like gremlins. Maybe the author just gave up on our cooking scenes after a few chapters."
"Cooking cooking!" Jiang chants like it's a sacred ritual and wiggles his way toward the kitchen with me.
He practically skips like a weird glowing toddler in a grown man's body, antennae twinkling. "Cooking! I make egg explode!"
I freeze mid-step. "No exploding eggs! No science experiments! Just normal, edible food that doesn't end up on the ceiling!"
"But that's no fun…" he pouts, already grabbing a pan like it's a weapon of mass destruction.
I snatch it from him. "No. Sit. I'll handle the fire, you handle… chopping green onions."
