I stretched my back after Alice gave me a great massage. A satisfied smile lingered around my lips like I had just had the great massage of my life. I can't say I'm wrong; Alice's touches are just out of this world. My face frowns, and my eyes narrow down, rethinking my thoughts.
"Young Master"
Alice breaks the silence between us. I was startled, and instinctively, I looked at Alice. She was the same as always: her crisp maid uniform, crimson hair, violet eyes, and calm demeanour. Somehow, her gaze lingers with seductive softness.
"I would like to know… are you really going through with it, young master?"
Alice speaks, retracting her seductive smile. I smirk at her question and set my eyes on the documents that Alice had gathered.
"Of course, I am doing it."
"And I am finding out whose orders they follow."
Diggie. The name of the person who poisoned me. Just from the name, I can already tell that he's a low-level thug. There is no way he could do that alone. He will give the name of the person who pulls the strings—if not, he will not like what will happen to him. I smirk coldly.
Alice caught my expression.
"You seem to be enjoying yourself."
Alice smiled brightly, it's soft and warm. You know, it's great to have a person you can trust—even if she is tied with slave magic.
"By the way", Alice added, "I heard the Saintess appear. Her name is Eri"
I need information on the other NPCs. All I know is that Eri is another NPC like me—an awakened one. It doesn't make sense for a Saintess to appear out of nowhere. It must be the creator god, laying the groundwork for his grand game.
Alice responds to my question swiftly as I ask.
"Yes, her power manifested yesterday, and in three days, she will go to the capital to receive a proper title. She claims that this world will change in 3 years."
3 years??
I look at Oliva, the system interface floating at the corner of my eyes, showing the same countdown—before the beta version launch, just as she said.
Now, I am sure of it; she is just like me, an NPC. However, according to Alice, she doesn't seem to know that this is part of a game but an oracle from god. I mean, technically, she is not wrong.
Well, I will find out more when I meet her. For now, finding out who poisoned me takes priority.
My eyes gaze out the window, admiring the garden that I can see from my room. While I am busy admiring the flower petals carried by the wind, Razen, the bulter, knocks on the door.
"Young Master, your fiancée has come to meet you."
I let out a big sigh. Not because of Razen—he had served the Vindaloo family ever since I was a child. He is just like a second father to me.
No, the reason is my fiancée; she is going to complain about my lifestyle again without knowing a damn thing; not like I have any plan to tell her.
Well, this is going to be annoying.
Sigh.
Let's get this over with.

'Young Master..'
Alice's lips carve a smile while she gives Daniel a back massage. Her dedicated fingers stroked his back gently and seductively.
She is a maid, a slave by magic with no right to long for her master, yet she does.
To stand by his side—not just as a slave, but as someone who shares his burden. Who goes walk through every storm with him—even if she has no right to do so.
That is why she tries so hard to gather information on the culprit who poisoned her master. She will not forgive whoever did such a thing to her master.
As Razen, the butler, comes in to inform her master about his fiancé, the reality hits her once again. Reminding her that she is nothing more than a slave and a maid.
