Seven steps.
That's what it takes to turn an ordinary object into a vessel of legend.
Not seven cuts.
Not seven minutes.
Seven truths.
I. Determine the Rune Ability
First, the engraver must know what they fear. What they crave. The rune cannot be chosen lightly—it must be needed.
II. Choose the Chant
The voice must match the will. Chant wrong, and the rune dies. Or worse—awakens something else.
III. Prepare the Vessel
No cracks. No imperfections. The object must be perfect. The world must believe it deserves power.
IV–V. Engrave the Letters and Chant
Two letters per rune. One chant per power. Each line carved not with motion—but meaning. A hand trembles here, and kingdoms fall later.
VI. The Engraver's Mark
A signature. A soulprint. Not a flourish—an offering. The final piece of identity burned into steel.
VII. Immediate Activation (for ships and buildings)
There is no delay. Once carved, the rune lives.
And when it lives—it hungers.
To create a rune is not to build.
It is to bind.
Every engraving is a pact with permanence.
And once it's carved… the only way out is ruin.
