Gandhiji was killed by a Pakistani mob by the time Jinnah arrived at the scene.
He felt all his confidence of international support die out.
First, he needs to hide this incident!
"Arrest them all!"
He shouted at the military personnel he had brought, but the people who had just killed Gandhi were confused, and feeling betrayed.
"Didn't you tell us to kill Hindus and everyone who oppose Pakistan!?"
His blood went cold as he heard that.
Still, he gave the order to arrest them all, and even shoot them if necessary.

Back in India, as soon as the news reached, there was massive outrage. Not only amongst the people, but also amongst the government, including the members of Constituent Assembly.
A meeting of the ministers was called.
Dr Ambedkar said, "A total population exchange is necessary! And Pakistan has been stopping people of lower castes from leaving Pakistan!"
The second part was news to me.
"Why are they stopping them?"
"Of course! To make them clean the sewers, streets and drains full of dead bodies, and to covert them."
"We will initiate the population exchange program.
Everyone who voted for Muslim League and its allianced parties and candidates, and candidates themselves who haven't gone from India, will have their properties taken over by the government for settling the people who have to immigrate from there.
Thankfully we have the data necessary from the 1946 elections.
And every non-muslim will be brought to India.
All religious institutions will be used as temporary shelters for now."
To get rid of Nazi ideology, the allies occupied Germany and influenced the rest of Europe for decades. It was important to take out Nazi elites from the picture first.
Since only the elite class was allowed to vote, the Muslim League voters will need to be stripped of any sort of power and advantage over the others.
Pakistan as an ideology needs to be get rid of altogether.
"I am sure that Pakistan will attack us soon now. So, I am declaring Emergency. Everyone needs to keep everything from leaking.
Patel ji, don't wait any longer for Junagadh and Hyderabad. If they don't sign the instrument of acession today itself, attack and force them, along with taking over their property and assets. We need to send a clear message to the few of the remaining princely states that just because they were British puppets they won't be safe if they harbour dangerous thoughts.
Each MP that don't have any ministries need to go back to their territories and maintain peace. I don't want any riots breaking out. All rioters must be arrested.
Nehru ji, I need you to personally go to Pakistan and bring back Gandhi ji's body immediately."

"We are entering a state of emergency. And ensure Jinnah that as long as Pakistan doesn't attack, we won't. Right now, we want to have just a population exchange. Peacefully. That's why army will be deployed on borders-"
Just as we were discussing this, my telephone rang.
"Kumar ji! Pakistan has attacked us from Lahore side!"
So Pakistan decided for a pre-emptive strike!?
"Alright!"
"This is no longer just a state of emergency. It is a war emergency. Pakistan has attacked us.
The orders remain the same, but we will have the population exchange after the war!"
The First India-Pakistan War has started. And I hope that it will be the last that will ever be needed.
