Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Chiori’s Joining

Chiori froze in astonishment upon hearing Lin Yide's words. She never expected him to propose that she join the West Factory.

"Why?" she blurted out, puzzled.

Lin Yide didn't answer immediately, but casually browsed the exquisite and expensive clothes on the rack.

After a moment, he said softly, "Chiori, shop owner, most of your customers are nobles, right? I happen to be planning to eliminate them, and your shop can provide me with a wealth of information."

Chiori's face instantly turned cold, and she flatly refused, "I will never betray my customers' information. That's my bottom line."

"Bottom line?" Lin Yide chuckled, his tone revealing a hint of sarcasm. "Perhaps it's because those nobles protect you and can solve all kinds of troubles for you!"

"No!" Chiori tried to deny it, but her tone wasn't as firm as before.

"Let me guess again. The troubles you encounter are usually handled by the Special Security Team. You probably look down on the former captain of the Special Security Team, Herbert. The one you really rely on should be Herbert's mother, right?"

Lin Yide's words were like sharp swords, pointing directly at Chiori's heart.

Chiori wanted to explain, but found herself speechless.

"In the end, Chiori, you're just someone who clings to power," Lin Yide continued sarcastically.

"Shut up!" Chiori finally couldn't bear it anymore. She glared at Lin Yide, her voice trembling. "Do you think I want this? When I first arrived in Fontaine, do you know how much bullying and humiliation I suffered?

But did the Special Security Team and the Maison Gardiennage ever uphold justice for me?

Where is justice in Fontaine?

It's just a more hypocritical facade than Inazuma!"

Upon hearing this, Furina's face turned very ugly, as this was undoubtedly the greatest denial of her.

"Indeed!" Lin Yide agreed with Chiori's point of view. "And our West Factory exists to break this injustice and maintain true fairness and justice.

Chiori, join us, and you'll never have to face those arrogant nobles again."

After listening to Lin Yide, Chiori fell into deep thought.

To be honest, she didn't want to join the West Factory. She just wanted to quietly run Chiori's shop, using her hands to tailor exquisite clothes and bring beauty to her customers.

But if she refused Lin Yide's invitation now, Chiori's shop would really have to close down.

When dealing with unruly peers and nobles, her methods clearly violated Fontaine's laws. If strictly investigated, she might even end up sewing in prison.

After much deliberation, Chiori finally said, "I can join the West Factory, but I have two conditions.

First, after you eliminate the nobles, I must be able to freely withdraw from the West Factory;

Second, my identity must be strictly confidential, and no one can know that I am a member of the West Factory."

"Okay," Lin Yide readily agreed to her conditions.

Then, he remembered his initial purpose for coming and said, "Chiori, our West Factory is also preparing to order a batch of clothing. This batch of clothing needs to highlight an aura of majesty and integrity, making people feel intimidated at first glance."

Hearing this, Furina couldn't help but frown, somewhat puzzled, and asked, "Why does it have to be like this? Can't you choose some more gentle and approachable styles?"

Lin Yide patiently explained, "The West Factory is essentially a strict law enforcement agency. Only by making people feel intimidated can we deter those petty criminals."

After listening to Lin Yide's explanation, Chiori thoughtfully nodded.

After pondering for a moment, she took out a drawing board and began to quickly sketch out the rough design of a piece of clothing.

Lin Yide took the design drawing, and his eyes lit up instantly.

The drawing showed a black long trench coat that resembled a military uniform, paired with a peaked cap, instantly exuding an aura of majesty and coldness.

He sincerely praised, "Chiori, your design talent is truly amazing."

Chiori frowned slightly and responded, "It doesn't seem like something to be happy about to receive your praise."

Despite saying that, the corners of her mouth couldn't help but curl up slightly, revealing a hint of smugness.

For her, being recognized and loved by customers is always the greatest satisfaction and pride.

Afterward, Lin Yide and Chiori began to discuss and modify the design details in depth.

Furina also joined in with great interest, occasionally offering her own insights and suggestions.

In the afterglow of the sunset, the streets of Fontaine were dyed with a faint golden hue.

The buildings on both sides of the street looked even more ancient and solemn in the sunset.

Lin Yide walked steadily alone on the street.

Suddenly, a stern-faced middle-aged man appeared in front of Lin Yide, blocking his path.

"Yide, someone paid to take your life," the man said coldly, his voice devoid of any emotion, only pure killing intent and indifference.

Lin Yide glanced at him and called out his name in one breath, "Rocky Avildsen? You have several lives on your hands, right? You actually dare to appear in the Court of Fontaine in broad daylight!"

Rocky's killing intent intensified. "Since you know my identity, then you should die."

After saying that, his muscles swelled up under the stimulation of anger, as if they were about to burst through his clothes.

Then, he rushed forward, aiming a punch directly at Lin Yide's chest, intending to kill him with one blow.

But Lin Yide seemed to have already seen through his intentions, and quickly dodged the sure-kill blow with an almost impossible speed.

In the moment of Rocky's shock, a silver sword suddenly appeared in Lin Yide's hand.

The sword seemed to appear out of thin air, flashing with a cold light, making people shudder.

Rocky was secretly surprised. There were very few people in the entire Court of Fontaine who could dodge his punch, and Lin Yide's performance far exceeded the information his employer had given him.

After all, he was a battle-hardened killer, and he quickly adjusted his mindset.

In his opinion, no matter how strong Lin Yide was, he was already a dead man.

He leaped up and smashed down directly at Lin Yide from the air, intending to kill his opponent with absolute power.

Faced with Rocky's thunderous blow, Lin Yide still maintained a calm expression. He had already learned this move in the game.

First, he retreated backward, and then leaped up again, dodging Rocky's fist and the shock wave it caused when it hit the ground at just the right angle.

At this moment, a chill couldn't help but rise in Rocky's heart.

He realized that he might have encountered a real strong enemy.
