Back at the hall, Arnold simply turned, and strode toward the nearest hallway.
"Ari," he said over his shoulder.
Ariel blinked. "Yes?"
"Walk. I need to talk to you."
She raised a brow, still wearing the satisfied smirk of a queen who'd won her round.
"Now?"
"Yes. Now."
He didn't wait for her reply. He just kept walking.
She huffed, but followed, wobbling slightly in her heels.
They moved down the hallway, until he pushed open the heavy metal door to one of the empty side parlors.
He stepped inside first, jaw strictly clenched.
Ariel followed and crossed her arms.
Once they were inside, he shut the door.
"What's going on?" she asked, glancing around.
He turned to her with cold eyes.
"That was low, Ariel. Even for you."
She blinked, then laughed lightly. "What was?"
"The wine," he snapped, "Don't insult my intelligence."
Her eyes narrowed slightly. "Are you seriously getting worked up over that? It was an accident. I tripped—"
