Sasame had initially considered using Fate Points to directly acquire the Flying Thunder God Technique—because the standard training requirements were nearly impossible to meet.
As a forbidden jutsu of immense strategic value, Konoha guarded it fiercely. To even be considered, one had to:
Perform a monumental service to the village.
Demonstrate absolute loyalty to the Hokage.
Possess unparalleled innate talent.
The first two were negotiable. The third? Brutal.
Hence why only two people in history had ever mastered it.
The core prerequisites:
Vast chakra reserves.
Space-time affinity.
Preternatural reflexes and dynamic vision.
Exceptional sensory perception.
Sasame barely met the first two. But now, with his Mangekyō Sharingan and Sage Mode, he was ready to try.
Asking Tsunade risked alerting Hiruzen. So—Orochimaru it was.
Orochimaru's Hideout
This was Sasame's first visit in person. Previous caution stemmed from weakness. Now?
Let the snakes watch.
He strolled into the hall, poured tea, and lounged like he owned the place.
Orochimaru materialized before him, golden eyes simmering with restrained fury.
"Years apart, yet you're still this… cold." Sasame smirked. "Thinking of killing me?"
No answer.
Orochimaru's instincts screamed danger. This wasn't a Wood Clone.
Could he win?
Even with Hashirma's cells, Curse Marks, and forbidden jutsu like Edo Tensei—Sasame's Wood Release and Mangekyō tipped the scales.
Try, and die.
"Your organization's specialty," Orochimaru hissed, "is stealing from allies?"
"Oh please." Sasame tapped his Sharingan. "Call its name. If it answers, it's yours."
A silent glare.
Point made. Had Sasame not intervened, Orochimaru would have claimed Shisui's eye.
"What do you want this time?"
"The Flying Thunder God Technique."
Orochimaru's tongue flicked. Expected.
The jutsu was legendary—the backbone of Minato's "Yellow Flash" reign. He'd attempted it himself… and failed.
"Even I can't teach it without the Hokage's approval."
Translation: Pay up.
"Ask your questions," Sasame waved. "I'll pay fairly."
Q1: Why is your Wood Release stronger than Hashirama's cell grafts?
"You already know." Sasame smirked. "Remember the two keys to becoming the Sage of Six Paths?"
"…The Sage's body." Orochimaru's eyes gleamed. Confirmation.
This alone was worth the trade—a roadmap for his research: evolve the vessel.
Q2: How to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan?
"That'll cost extra." Sasame sipped tea. "One technique isn't enough for mass-producing Mangekyō."
A gamble. Even with the method, Orochimaru's success rate would be abysmal.
But let him try. Failed experiments = more Fate Points for Sasame.
"What else do you want?" Orochimaru's voice dripped venom. "The Scroll of Seals holds many secrets."
Hiruzen would've had a stroke hearing that.
"No." Sasame shook his head. "Your Curse Mark and improved Edo Tensei."
Mostly to neuter Orochimaru's tricks. Plus… a side project.
Deal Sealer: "The masked Uchiha from the Kyūbi attack? I'll give you his location."
Orochimaru's grin turned predatory.
Worth it.
