Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Peter wakes up early in the morning and walks to the bathroom. He washes his face, walks to the kitchen, and eats some breakfast. While eating breakfast, he thinks of what he needs to make today.

He already has a water source, and that means he can start his farming system. His mind is working on the new idea, and after a few seconds, he is already getting a new blueprint he can make.

It will take a lot of resources to make, but the vault contains a lot of resources he can use. There is a mountain of resources in the vault that he can use to make his tech, and he will use them to create a good foundation.

He shakes his head and enjoys the food he made. When he is done, he decides to see the result of Earthshaper's work. He walks to the expansion site and blinks momentarily when he sees a wall with a door. Peter opens the door and sees an empty room that is painted white, complete with lighting on the ceiling.

"Not bad at all."

Peter takes out the scanner he made yesterday and starts scanning. This scanner is one of the parts inside the drones, but he decided to make it into a handheld scanner.

"Durability is excellent. It is a perfect room for the farm."

He needs to make a few adjustments, but it will not be a problem. Among them is a bigger room. The farm is a multiple-stage project, and I can adjust the room depending on the stage of the project.

"I can work with this."

After saying that, Peter leaves the room and walks to his workshop. It is time to make a farming system that can work in this underground base.

When he arrives in his workshop, Peter starts his work. The first stage is to create the core of the farm, which he named Verdant Ark System.

It is a system that uses a very advanced Hydroponic Farm system that lets him farm even underground. This core will be the one that maintains and monitors the farm. He uses his newly upgraded [Automation] specialization to automate the farm.

The core is not a single technology but rather a bunch put together, and among them is a computer with a VI (Virtual Intelligence), a downgraded version of an AI (Artificial Intelligence) that will be the one monitoring and maintaining the farm. The other technology is a smaller version of Aetherion Core that will independently power the farm.

Peter works on the core component of his farming system for hours. It takes him 11 hours to complete the massive machine before him. What takes the most time is creating all the components he needs to make for the machine and moving all the parts to the new room for the farm.

Speaking of the machine, it takes up a quarter of the room, and the room is 35 square meters. That is how big the machine is.

He shakes his head and turns on the machine. He hums a little and checks the function of the machine to see if they are working or not. He cannot truly test without the rest of the system, but he can look at the report the computer gives him.

"Central nutrient management system? Check. Automated climate control loop? Check, but I need to make another device to make this work 100%. Sensor framework and control interface? Check"

Peter runs through the system and checks them one by one. After a few minutes, he is done and knows the machine is ready. He only needs to make the farm itself and connect it through the core.

When he is done with the machine, he leaves the room and thinks of which specializations he will add to his list or which ones he should upgrade. After thinking for a few seconds, he decided to upgrade a few things.

Peter decided to add one to [Automation], one to [Fabrication], one to [Construction], one to [Tools], and one to [Sensors].

These are what needs to be upgraded. They are essential for his next project. However, he is not done. He decided to create new specializations. He has the basics, and now it is time to get something supporting the other techs or boost his progress.

After thinking for a few seconds, he decided to put one into [Terraforming] specialization. As he expected, this one works seamlessly with [Construction] and even supports each other. He put one into [Medical Systems] because he will need them sooner or later. Rather have it now than later. He put another one into [Agricultural Engineering] because he is making a farm, which will be a perfect specialization. The next one is [Scanner] because he wants to know if there are survivors in this world. The last one is [Biofabrication] because he wants to make seeds for his farm in case the seeds in the vault are not enough.

The last specialization is also something that he needs to make a Modular All-Purpose Fabrication Station, which he is planning to make after working on the Core Unit of the Verdant Ark System. Creating them manually is time-consuming, and he tires of making them by hand.

However, with the new specialization, he now has a more complex and powerful fabricator blueprint. He has a fabricator, but it can only make a smaller part from scrap or other material from the vault.

With that in mind, he immediately put his old fabricator to work to make the needed parts. He is making a medium-sized machine in his mind, but Peter gets carried away and makes something big.

After a few hours of tinkering, he is done tinkering and looks at the massive machine that is mounted to the wall. This is GENESIS Forge, or Global Engineering & Nano-Integrated Synthesis System.

It resembled a half-dome or an enormous beetle's carapace, its curved upper shell sloping backward like a protective husk. This dome wasn't plain or glossy—it was textured, matte black with a finish like hardened volcanic stone, broken by segmented panels and glowing seams that pulsed with soft, pale blue light. The light wasn't just decoration; it moved, reacting to power flows and internal functions like veins under skin.

The Forge's front side split open into a wide, semi-circular fabrication bay, reminiscent of a hangar door. Three multi-jointed robotic arms were anchored to the interior edges of this cavity. When not in use, they folded inward like resting limbs, tucked into hexagonal grooves flush with the Forge's chassis.

A raw material intake system jutted out on its left flank like an industrial chute. The opening was wide enough to toss in chunks of scrap metal or even an entire toolbox. Beneath it, faint vibrations rippled through the air as the Forge's unseen grinders and molecular disassemblers went to work, breaking matter down to its base components.

The rear section of the Forge was angular, almost spine-like, housing energy regulation fins and exhaust diffusers that opened or closed depending on internal temperatures. A thick cable spine ran along its back, feeding power and data into modular expansion ports. These ports pulsed faintly, hinting that more could be attached: drone bays, bio-printing extensions, or automated arms waiting to grow the Forge into something larger.

Despite its size—easily four meters across and over two meters tall—it is packed with all kinds of tinker tech because of his specialization in [Miniaturization].

After admiring the machine, he walks to the main computer to upload his blueprints to the fabricator. It is a shame that this machine cannot make a big Tinker Tech, but it can make smaller, less complex ones, which is good enough for him.

With that done, Peter immediately picks all the things he needs for tomorrow's project and presses the construct button. It will take a few hours to make and should be done tomorrow morning.

That is good because he is tired and needs to eat something then go to sleep.
