The need to find Jess grows stronger with every second, every step. Tanner doesn't even realize how he's gotten out of the pack house.
He's not sure where he's going, he doesn't know anything about Jess. Not where he used to live before they met, not his friends, nothing.
Now, realizing he can't even link with Jess through their mate bond by scent, because it was severed, that thought cuts deeper than anything else. He can't sense Jess anymore, and it's killing him.
But still, it doesn't stop him. He searches. He roams the streets, scanning every face, boy or girl that looks even remotely like him.
With his wolf speed, he covers several towns within hours, but finds nothing.
"What did I do?!" he murmurs to himself, angry at his own helplessness. But anger doesn't help. No trace of Jess.
