After driving for a while, Tanner finally breaks the silence. His voice is low, almost like he's convincing himself more than the others.
"I don't know about you, but I think it's time we move on from everything. We can't stay stuck just because we've lost so much. We can rebuild... somehow. I've always wanted to start a company, just never had the time. But now... now I've got nothing but time. I want to do it. From scratch."
He pauses, then adds, "I'd like you to join me. If you want. But if you have other plans, it's fine."
There's a silence that stretches too long before Jaxon finally speaks.
"I don't think we'll be able to come along," he says gently, glancing at Jayson beside him. "My boyfriend and I had other plans already. But... we're still on your side. If you ever need help, we're not far. We can help with anything."
Jaxon turns to Jayson, as if to confirm from him, Jayson nods in agreement, his expression unreadable.
