Chapter 55
Aaron didn't try to talk to Katherine nor stalk her like before. He gave her space—space to understand and accept everything. He couldn't rush her.
Even though he promised to chase her, there were times he needed to back off and give her space. And he wanted to respect that. It took every will to stop himself from running his loser ass to her.
God! It was hard.
His body screamed, his heart howled to go to her and do everything, but his mind and brain held him off.
So instead, with good self-restraint, Aaron buried himself in work—meetings, approvals of contracts, conversations with investors, etc.—to blur past time.
He also kept his distance not because Katherine was scared of him but because of his mother—his mother.
And he couldn't help but wonder, what exactly did his mother do to her? He'd asked before, tried to coax it out, but Katherine never answered directly. Just vague responses. Katherine wanted to shield her children from Brenda.
