The night was different from his former nights, it was restless because of the injury he got from the vase getting smashed on his head and that made his head throb all night, he couldn't close his eyes even for a minute and get a goodnights sleep.
He struggled to open his eyes, the throbbing ache still pulverising his skull with pain.
"Damn, I should have probably gone to the hospital yesterday" he murmured, as he slowly sat up placing a hand on his head as he rubbed his eyes.
He glanced around the room like it would have changed because of the throbbing ache, but everything felt and looked the same so there was nothing for him to worry about.
He slid down the bed and walked up to the mirror, staring into it as he saw his eyes had become blood shot red from the continuous ache.
He turned to the bathroom and went it, going straight for the sink so he could wash his face for a bit. Then he came out and took an eye drop from a medic box in his drawer and applied it in his eyes.
"That should reduce the redness" then he walked to the living room with his laptop, dropped it on the centre table and turned it on.
He glanced over at the system phone and opened it again, still no new notification apart from the task It assigned him with.
He sighed then opened his laptop and browsed through the Internet about the companies the system listed for him to explore and invest in.
He browsed through the companies but none of them seemed to interest him, so he decided to check out the last one hoping for something worthwhile to indulge in.
From his search, the following information appeared about the company.
[NetVigil Technologies – AI Surveillance Firm
◇ Sector: Predictive Policing / Behavioral Monitoring
● Status: Blacklisted
Overview:
Once a rising star in AI-driven crime prevention, NetVigil Technologies claimed to predict violent incidents before they occurred using real-time behavioral analysis and neural net surveillance. The company was blacklisted after whistleblower leaks exposed unauthorized data harvesting, psychological profiling of civilians, and covert military contracts. Currently under ethics board investigation for potential human rights violations.

He scrolled through the information, "AI powered technology capable of detecting violent incidents before they occurred? That has to be one of the coolest technology I've heard of"
"Sadly the military always want these kind of technology, would probably end up halving human existence. It was probably a good thing it was Blacklisted and put out of business" he muttered, "But" he said stroking his chin, "I can revive this company, but a lot of things would have to change so the ban can be uplifted"
He smiled at the screen, "I think I've found the one" he said closing his laptop.
He went into his room once more and glanced at the mirror, noticing his once blood shot eyes had gone back to normal.
He took a bath, ate his food, grabbed his phone and headed out the door.
From Google maps, the location was far off at the end of the city. It was really stressful that he'd be going out again after yesterday's meeting with Carl but what could he do? The system gave him a week and that meant he can't be resting.
He glanced at his phone to make sure he was on the right route because it was not a famous company because what they indulged in didn't concern the masses, even the cab driver didn't know where it was.
He stole occasionally glances outside the window, admiring the city's beauty.
Within less than 30 minutes they arrived at the location, at first he wasn't sure it was the location but then as he came closer he noticed the sign on top of the building which read the company's name.
He turned and paid the cab driver, "be careful sir, this place doesn't look safe" the cab driver said before zooming off.
He turned back at stared at the building for while before heading for the entrance.
From the comments he saw on social media, apparently someone still worked in this firm with no pay. Some called it a ghost worker, some said they were probably committing fraud and needed a place to lay low for a while.
Well this is when he'll find out which one was real, "I really don't like the sound of this" he murmured before pushing the door open.
His entrance immediately tripped an alarm system and it immediately started sounding the alarm until an avatar appeared in front of him.
"Jin here" the avatar said, glitching a bit. It had a cube head, like a Minecraft action figure.
The avatar glanced around the place, then turned to him, "You're the one who tripped the alarm?"
From its question and movement, it seemed like someone was controlling it from a spot.
"Yes" he responded, cautiously.
"So who might you be?" It asked, moving closer to him face.
He wanted to say his real name at first but decided to stay mysterious, "I'm know as Mr Panda" he said.
"Your real name sir?" It said, it's facial expression dropping.
"Liam...Liam Maddox" he said ,shrugging a bit.
"Alright Liam, my nickname is Lazypuppy if that's how you introduce yourself" it said.
He chuckled and scratched the back of his head, "that's not how I meant it"
Then the thought hit him, someone had added him as Lazypuppy once before and the system added the person to his number of allies, could this person be the same?
"Wait, you said you were Lazypuppy. You don't happen to know any investor SleepyPanda do you?" He asked.
"And if I do?" It responded.
"Well, you're in luck then because I am SleepyPanda" he answered, smiling continuously.
"No way!, you're him?. What are you doing here? We never chatted after that" it added.
He chuckled, "I guess the world really is a small place, don't you think?"
"Indeed, it is" it responded, "why don't we meet up for a better conversation"
"Sure, I don't mind but where is the location?" He asked.
"At the old server café down town, the moon club" it said.
"Alright, see you there then but by what time though?"
"By 12 should be fine, I'll go get prepared for the meet up" it waved then went off.
"I guess I have picked out the company I'm investing in" he said, walking out of the building.
