Celeste woke up the next morning and remembered that she hadn't seen Sammie to thank her and decided to pay a short visit to her before going to Darcy's room. She got to the servant's quarters and asked another servant about her whereabouts and the servant directed her to where she was assigned for the day.
She was assigned to clean Amelia's room so when she got there and saw her they were so happy to see each other and hugged themselves.
"I am sorry for not coming to wish you a happy birthday personally yesterday. I was assigned with a hectic duty"Sammie first apologized.
"It's nothing. I'm even happy and contented with the card" Celeste said and then hugged her again.
"Thanks so much for everything. I am happy that we are friends" Celeste said while holding her hands. Sammie saw the bracelet on Celeste wrist and tried touching it but it suddenly burnt her palms.
"It's pretty, who gave it to you" she asked.
"It's Darcy. He gave it to me as a birthday present" Celeste said while smiling and admiring it again.
"You have to go now before Lady Amelia sees you here. You know how she behaves"
"Alright see you later. I am also late". Celeste said and dashed out.
When she was gone. Sammie looked at her palms again and saw that she was slowly healing. The bracelet that Celeste was wearing was not ordinary. It's a bracelet that burns shapeshifters and then forces them to reveal their true face. She was quick to have removed her hands and was lucky that Celeste didn't notice anything.
Celeste got to Darcy's room and knocked and he asked her to come inside. He was still bare naked with just a towel tied loosely around his waist. He had just taken a shower.
Celeste stood and was lost in admiring his body. His abs were chiseled to perfection and the water dripping from his hair to his face made him look sexier.
"Mmhmm" Darcy cleared his throat and Celeste realized that she was caught staring.
"I am sorry" she apologized
"Not your fault that I am perfect. At least you weren't drooling" Darcy said and then entered his closet to put on his clothes. When he came out he asked her to come and comb out his hair and she did that very gentle like he was a child.
"You are to join me for breakfast" Darcy said and left then Celeste followed him to the dining hall. She saw that Amelia and Lucian were already there and she was confused on whether to sit with them or just stand since everyone already knew she was not a witch which automatically revoked her right to sit with them.
Lucian saw her come in and gestured for her to sit beside him. She looked at Darcy to see if he would say anything but he acted as usual like he didn't care. When she sat beside Lucian he dished out a steak that was almost raw for her to eat and she made a face like she was going to throw up.
"My bad. I forgot that you are not a vampire neither are you a witch" Lucian said in a mocking tone. He then asked a servant to get her fruits and vegetables.
"Eat to your fill because I am sure you haven't tasted nor seen such before" Amelia mocked.
All this while Darcy ignored them and was just eating like nothing happened. This got Lucian upset and he decided to push his limits.
"Since you are just a human and to us humans are just food" he then drew her sit closer to his. Celeste heart skipped a beat and she instantly knew what was coming.
"Hope you don't mind" and then he leaned in to bite her. He had only nicked her skin with his teeth when Darcy threw him across the wall.
He got up laughing maniacally.
"I don't get brother. I thought you are done with her and besides she is useless to you" he then licked his teeth and widened his eyes.
"Oh my. Her blood taste like nothing I have ever had bef.." Darcy threw him across the wall again before he could finish his statement.
"Don't touch my property" he said
"Your property? No wonder you haven't killed her since. Is it because of her blood? And you decided to use her as your personal blood bank" Darcy punched him in his face.
"Both of you it's okay. You both are always fighting but at least it's over important things but you both shouldn't fight over this gold digger" Amelia said sending a dreadful eyes to Celeste who was just one side watching what was happening.
"I would use this opportunity to warn both of you that no one goes near her or harm her. I own her and I know you both know how I don't play with what I own". Darcy said and left immediately. Celeste went after him even though she didn't eat anything yet. When she met up with him, he told her to pack a meal and follow him.
"In fact leave it. We would eat outside"
They got to another building and he asked her to wait in the car while he go to take care of some business.
Celeste sat for hours inside the car and kept on waiting for Darcy to come out. She wondered what was keeping him and wondered whether he was in trouble. After a few more hours her tummy made some hungry noise and she decided to go in and check on him.
She got to the front door and saw that it was locked so she knocked for a while and got no response. She started moving towards the back of the house looking for another entrance and then luckily for her she found the kitchen entrance open. She got in and noticed how everywhere was quiet.
She started looking and listening for anyone to ask about Darcy. She got to the sitting room and saw a scene. A lot of bodies were on the floor. She checked one and saw that he was dead. She became scared again and called out for Darcy.
"Come to the 4th room"she heard in her mind.
"It might be him" she thought. He was the only one that has ever spoken to her without talking before.
She rushed to the fourth room and entered the room and started looking for Darcy.
She then heard the door close behind her and turned to see a huge man standing there.
"Who are you?" She asked
He didn't say anything rather his eyes changed to pitch black and he dashed forward to kill her.
