Pokémon fans are lovers of all kinds.
As the saying goes, "All of you are my wings."
Whether it's the common Caterpie, the rare Garchomp, or even the elegant Jynx, there are people who love them all.
Not to mention the legendary Pokémon.
Even though Carver was just starting out as a breeder, with only a few strong Pokémon by his side, there are things you need to pursue as early as possible.
Knowing about the existence of Latias in advance meant that when he grew stronger, he could prepare early to witness firsthand the legendary beasts at the pinnacle of this world's ecosystem.
Carver turned around and fetched some Pokémon snacks from the house, tossing them to the Taillow perched before him.
Taillow looked at him with satisfaction, then lowered its head and began eating.
While it was eating, Carver took the chance to look at Taillow's details:
[Pokémon: Taillow]
[Gender: Male]
[Ability: Guts]
[Moves: Growl, Peck, Focus Energy, Quick Attack, Wing Attack]
[Status: Healthy]
[Mood: Happy]
[Happiness: 50]
[Friendship: 20 (Another free food supplier)]
[Description: It's so nice not to have to search for food! It would be even better if there were those sweet square candies... —Taillow.]
Carver: "…"
So this Taillow was just too lazy to find its own food, so it came here to mooch?
Another?
Did that mean this Taillow had been fed by other people before?
No wonder it was so skilled at this!
But it did seem like Taillow was not quite satisfied with what Carver was giving it.
Sweet square candies... Instantly, Carver's mind thought of Pokéblocks.
Those were treats for Pokémon that not only tasted amazing but also enhanced their beauty, making their fur shinier and more vibrant.
The problem was that Carver didn't know how to make them yet. He would have to learn that sometime soon.
But snacks were snacks, and whining was whining; the gifts from Taillow were still delivered.
Once Taillow had eaten its fill, a line of text appeared before Carver's eyes:
[Taillow's mood increased, Happiness +20, received Taillow's gift: "New Information."]
[Taillow has shared new information with you: Two days ago, a massive "star" fell from the sky, crashing near Meteor Falls. A whole bunch of pink Pokémon came out of it. The star seemed to be their spaceship.]
After it had eaten its fill, Taillow flapped its wings and flew off—like a scumbag who puts on his pants and runs away.
Carver looked at the information that popped up, stunned.
Not more information about Latias and Latios?
A star fell from the sky near Meteor Falls.
A star... pink Pokémon... a spaceship...
Could it be talking about Clefairy?
Clefairy, a Fairy-type Pokémon, is known to live in groups. They have a social structure similar to humans and are famous for their moonlit ceremonies.
There were rumors that Clefairy are not native to this planet—that a long time ago, they came here aboard a spaceship.
If Taillow's information was correct, it meant that two days ago, a spaceship full of Clefairy landed near Meteor Falls!
Clefairy are quite rare, but they are gentle and reliable. In some regions, evolved Clefable often work as assistants to Nurse Joy at Pokémon Centers.
Carver quickly noted down this clue. The breeding house wasn't too far from Meteor Falls. He could check it out after closing shop to see if he could catch a few Clefairy to help out at the breeding house.
Just then, a familiar sound came from behind.
"Goo!"
Carver turned around and saw Bewear bringing a girl with blonde hair toward him.
A customer!
Carver quickly composed himself, returning to the lobby with a friendly smile.
"Hello, welcome to Carver's Breeding House. I'm the owner, Carver. How can I help you today?"
The blonde girl looked around curiously.
"I don't remember there being a breeding house here before," she said.
"We just opened a few days ago," Carver replied with a smile.
"I see." The blonde girl took out two Poké Balls from her pocket and said straightforwardly, "I want to leave these two Pokémon here for boarding."
Boarding? Carver raised an eyebrow and decided to promote his services.
"Would you like them to breed?" Carver asked. "At this breeding house, we have a very special hatching method that allows the offspring to learn moves that they normally wouldn't be able to. Of course, the cost would be slightly higher."
Hearing this, the blonde girl looked surprised.
"You mean like egg moves?" she asked, clearly intrigued.
Carver saw her curiosity and smiled.
"That's right. But it's not just ordinary egg moves. We also have a special family technique that allows us to pass down moves that are usually impossible for that species to learn."
The girl was taken aback and began to think.
"For example?" she asked.
Carver grinned and started listing examples.
"Do you think a Growlithe can learn Tackle?"
"Of course it can!" the girl replied. "That's pretty basic."
"What about Dragon Claw?"
The girl paused and then nodded. "Possible, but not easy."
It wasn't unheard of but would require a lot of effort.
Carver watched her expression, then continued:
"And... what about Sleep Powder?"
The moment he said that, it was as if a thunderbolt struck.
"Sleep Powder?!" The girl was stunned.
Sleep Powder was a move that had absolutely nothing to do with Growlithe. The two were worlds apart.
Among all types of Pokémon, only Bug and Grass-types were truly adept at using Sleep Powder. But a Fire-type like Growlithe?
Impossible. Absolutely impossible!
But Carver just smiled. He whistled, and soon, a tiny orange-and-black figure dashed down the stairs.
It was a still-young Growlithe.
"Growlithe, show our guest what you can do," Carver said with a grin.
"Woof! Woof!"
Growlithe wagged its tail cheerfully, looked straight at the blonde girl, and then... sneezed.
The next moment, glittering powder-like particles floated out from its sneeze, spreading out in all directions.
That move...
It was unmistakably Sleep Powder!
The blonde girl's eyes widened in complete shock.
A Growlithe using Sleep Powder...
This... this...
This is not scientific!
