"In a short while, I will have Lilianna tidied up. Please, go and rest first."

That little maid, like a witch, or rather, who was indeed an apprentice witch, spoke with utter indifference words that were incomparably cruel to the silver-haired knight princess who had already passed out drunk.

"Of course, if you have any special requests, you may also give them to me."

As if showing off something, the girl, who was only fourteen or fifteen years old, chattered on without pause.

"No, I have no more requests."

Responding to her was an extremely calm tone.

"However, you truly are an interesting fellow."

Immediately after, the King's tone was filled with malice.

Such words, like a sharp sword, pierced the girl's heart.

"My honor, Your Majesty."

A slight tremor was in Kallen's voice. Although she bowed with extreme reverence, it was somewhat misshapen due to her trembling.

Without a doubt, this girl who had provoked the King had still paid a price.

Although Gilgamesh couldn't directly give her any overly harsh punishment due to his own subordinate's involvement, making her pay such a price was sufficient.

"Well then, take your master. This King recalls he still needs to meet that witch of Sardinia, correct?"

Gilgamesh ordered thus, his tone carrying a majesty that made Kallen involuntarily bow low.

"Yes, O King."

A trace of panic and unwillingness flashed across Kallen's delicate and youthful face, but it was immediately concealed by reverence.

She could not disobey this King's command; Kallen could only submit to his orders.

...

A short while later, what entered Gilgamesh's eyes was an extremely ancient building.

It was architecture from before the Renaissance era; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call it extremely rare.

Whether it was the walls covered in vines, or the courtyard shrouded in dust, coupled with the aura brought by the dead of night...

If one were to truly describe it, it would be a witch's abode, a place that proclaimed its mystery and danger to the outside world at every turn.

"What, is no one actually coming to welcome this King?"

Even though Gilgamesh's tone was extremely calm, it still frightened the great knights beside him, causing them to involuntarily kneel on one knee.

"This subordinate is terrified! I shall go contact Lucrezia Zola immediately!"

Responding to the arrogant King was a young knight, whose name seemed to be Gennaro Gantz, also a member of the Copper Black Cross.

"No, there's no need."

Gilgamesh naturally knew the true state of this witch of Sardinia. Having barely survived the war between two Heretic Gods, she simply no longer had the strength to come and welcome him.

After all, no matter how arrogant he was, he wasn't that unreasonable. Moreover, this woman could be considered his subordinate.

"O King, forgive my offense."

Sure enough, just as Gilgamesh's voice fell, a voice that could be described as charming echoed through the dark courtyard.

It was a cat, an extremely sleek-furred, remarkably elegant black cat.

Without a doubt, this existed as a witch's familiar.

"Due to the previous battle, I have already lost the ability to move and cannot come to welcome you."

The extremely respectful tone also carried a trace of trepidation. Undoubtedly, in this witch's eyes, this capricious and extremely arrogant King was not so easy to entertain.

At least, compared to Kusanagi Godou from the original story, he was infinitely more dangerous; the two were simply not on the same level.

"I shall forgive your transgression for now. Well then, Verethragna's location, you wouldn't be unaware of it, would you!"

Gilgamesh asked without a shred of hesitation, a slight smile already playing on his lips, his face also showing displeasure.

However, unfortunately, this witch still did not give him a satisfactory answer.

"Apologies, O King, my magical power has not yet recovered. I must ask you to wait for some time."

The black cat conveyed its master's words, the fear in its tone obvious.

In other words, for Lucrezia, it was quite possible that Gilgamesh, in a fit of rage, would directly raze this building and the witch within to the ground.

However, at this moment, she had underestimated the King's magnanimity.

"Is that so."

The King spoke thus, his handsome face showing a slight frown.

Undoubtedly, he was extremely dissatisfied, but there was no reason for anger. Moreover, he still needed this witch. As for transferring his anger to other subordinates, he disdained to do such a lowly thing.

"Well then, this King shall wait here for the time being."

Without paying any attention to the attitude of the master of this place, the witch Lucrezia, Gilgamesh directly opened the main door and walked in.

As for the extremely evil and vicious magic used to deal with enemies, it seemed as if it had been erased.

Upon entering the main hall of this building, what met the eye was that disheveled woman. She probably hadn't expected Gilgamesh to be so casual.

However, this witch didn't show a shred of concern either.

"Welcome to my humble abode, King of Heroes!"

She said this while revealing a humble expression.

Unfortunately, Gilgamesh ignored her gaze.

"This King gives you one night. If you cannot do it, then you might as well end yourself."

Such obviously cold and heartless words were spoken with a slight casualness from the King's mouth.

For those worthless fellows, Gilgamesh would not allow them to waste his trust.

However, this witch did not disappoint him.

"It is enough."

She spoke thus.

"Please rest in the guest room. This subordinate will locate the tracks of the Heretic God for you."

Lucrezia said softly, but the King showed no intention of responding to her.

Outside the window, the night was deep.
