Philip's Reaction
Philip listened in silence as Frank told him everything—Athena's call, the cold shift in her voice, the question about whether he was alone that night.
He didn't speak until Frank finished.
Then, calmly but firmly, Philip said, "She knows about me."
Frank swallowed. "Yeah. I think so. She didn't say your name, but… the way she asked, it wasn't casual. She's probing."
There was a pause. Then Philip's voice hardened.
I am guessing her brother noticed that two suits were missing and the security guards saw me, they might have been cameras but I don't think they know who I am yet
Frank rubbed his face, frustrated. "She told me to join them. Said they'd train me."
Philip's tone turned sharp. "Don't. Not yet. You don't know what you're walking into. If they're tracking people like us, also they might be testing you. Seeing if you'll sell me out."
"I wouldn't," Frank said quickly.
"I know," Philip replied. "But that doesn't mean they won't try to use you. Or us."
He stood by the window of his hotel room, staring out at the Enugu skyline. The gem on his forehead pulsed faintly, though no one else could see it.
"She said something about Awakening, right?" he continued. "That it's triggered by the energy in that space flooding the body. Frank nodded slowly on his end. "What are you thinking?"
"I'm thinking we should train and get used to the strength so we can at least protect ourselves before any other thing"
We have enough money and I am not will to get my self-involved in any of this. I will advise you to stay away from this world we just found ourselves in.
Philip walked over to the closet, opened it, and pulled out the suit—the one from the party, the one with the subspace pocket. He slipped it on. It adjusted perfectly, as always. A quiet hum of magic traveled along the seams.
I love this suit Philip exclaimed, even if they find out about me I am not returning it
I would if there are more comfortable clothing that are like this.
Philip then packed the gold lying around but left a little piece for the lucky person cleaning the room then returned back to Lagos.
