"Z is in the second group, Isah is in the first group, and I'm in the last, third group. My number's surprisingly pretty behind as well." He wondered while yawning, already bored by everything going on around him.
The place that they had set up for the testing seemed pretty similar to the testing areas he had seen in webcomics.
There was a big punching bag that assessed the force behind one's attack and assigned a number according to their force.
There was a needle device on the other hand that, with a drop of one's blood, assessed the mental and physical stamina that they possessed.
It was a magic device that actually assessed the biological aspect of the person through their blood but the spiritual aspect.
There was a crystal ball that assessed the energy that one person possessed which also categorized the energy into Higher order energies like Mana and Aura.
They were assessing one's dexterity with a device that was made with magic-engineering, something that seemed similar to the modern surgical tools that were used by the artificial assistants.
'The method is good and all… but it's taking a loooooooong time!'
Since they were testing the skills after the stats as well, they were taking more time. The players weren't even showing all the skills they had, yet the process was taking long…
The Final ranks were announced as soon as one went to the ginormous monolith sitting in the center of the room.
It was a special item from the tower, something the mages used as a connection medium for large-scale magic spells.
The item was called [Resonance slate]. With a market price of several million coins, this item was not something even money could buy as it was regulated by the controlling authorities of each floor.
'How the hell did they even get that thing?'
KiRA was just standing there, waiting for the first group to finish their testing, a subtle greed present in his eyes.
[{ Master? Are we going to steal that thing? }]
Unity could feel it. Her master was having impure thoughts once again.
[{ "We would have certainly tried if we could. But look closely, that thing's enchanted." }]
While not everyone present could see it, those with Mana or some other special energy could see a small string of words floating at the base of the monolith.
Those who had played the game past the first few floors would know instantly what this thing was– enchanters were one of the most famous production classes in the game, after all.
An enchanted item was worth far more than its non-enchanted counterpart. The high-level enchanters with the ability to engrave special enchantments were sought after by all nations and powers.
'That one is engraved by a powerful enchanter as well.'
The enchanted protected the monolith from thieves. If anyone tried to move it from its place without access, they would receive a powerful shock and would fall unconscious on the spot.
'One wrong move before that thing and you'd be a fried egg.'
There were also around three dozen officials in this room alone, all trained far better than me with real battle experiences.
[{ "There's no way we'd win if we get caught, Uni." }]
Still, if he put in some work and was adamant about not getting caught in the act, there's no way they could catch them. But then again, it wasn't worth the risk thanks to the enchantment.
'This one's not for us.'
Besides, he didn't need something like that for the time being. Small steps were all that he needed for now.
[{ It's Izzy's turn, master~! }]
While he was lost in his thoughts, Isah stepped forward and stood before the first machine that tested one's strength.
'Now this is gonna be interesting…'
Strength wasn't her strong suit but she was still higher level than most of the people that had walked up the testing area until now.
"Huuuu…" Iz stood before the punching bag like a tester and took a deep breath.
With her {Passive breathing}, she maintained her blood and Mana circulation, enhancing her concentration even further.
"Haaaa!"
-Dhm!
She was trained by her father in various forms of martial arts, CQC being one of them.
One punch from her, despite her frail-looking body, produced a (309) on the holographic screen above the punching bag.
It wasn't the highest that they had seen until now, but it surely was a number on par with the bruties that had focused solely on their Strength stat when distributing their free stat points.
"Ptff." Seeing the dropped jaws around him made him chuckle unexpectedly.
The fact that many of them thought her to be pretty and attractive had given them a preconception of fragility or weakness.
However, she proved all of them wrong real quick… and that wasn't even the best part.
'That's my girl right there~.'
She got a high score on the Dex test, on the Energy test where her Mana was instantly detected, and even on the Stamina test, she got fine results.
"What…?"
"How is her Mana so high?! How does it make any sense?!"
"Wasn't she supposed to be a strength-based player?! Did she cheat?!"
"She must have used a skill! Right!"
Delusion was the result of one's romantic idealism.
The players here were proving the saying from the Tower Master pretty accurate.
'That old hag was always nagging about how dumb people can be sometimes… I wonder if I'll see her again.'
There were quite a few people he wanted to meet again. If the tower's inside was just as similar to the game as the tower's outside, then he wanted those people to be there as well.
At least, that way, he will have more skills to obtain and people to talk with.
"Now to the last test…" KiRA watched as Iz stood before the monolith.
She had to put her hand on its surface to get the results. The process was simple, so she glanced in KiRA's direction and with a smile, placed her hand on the artifact.
-OOOOOOOOONG!
However, as soon as she did that, a storm of energy engulfed the entire testing area.
[108]
[246]
[399]
[501]
[666]
[831]
The numbers that were appearing on the screen above the monolith kept going up without stopping.
They started from three digits when many of the players had stopped on double-digit numbers.
The way the numbers kept increasing shocked not only the Players who were here for the registration exams but also those who were assessing them.
[1032]
[1107]
[1203]
The number that finally became the closing unit was the highest that had appeared throughout the day.
"Cool."
The test takers were stunned, but the results were obvious so they regained themselves quickly.
Following the protocols, they respectfully escorted Iz to a different room upstairs, concluding her final results as [Rank-7].
It was the first [Rank-7] individual in the city, perhaps the entire state, so there was chaos all around them.
The players exploded in conversations and the guards had to step in to calm the chaos down.
It went on for a few minutes more before everything calmed down.
However, by the time that happened, another dark haired person with a charming presence had climbed up the testing area, his presence attracting attention of the supervisors and guards that had a certain Feeling about him.
'This will be more fun.'
KiRA was looking forward to this one as well.
He actually wondered how their reactions would be when they saw him after seeing Iz's results…
