It was officially a week after the night Rin asked Satoya the innocent question. Satoya was looking at his glass of water, watching the water ripple with every step he took as he was bringing it to the counter. He couldn't stop thinking about the simple words he uttered. His sheathed Regulator licensed Katana was placed gently against the sofa. He was staying in a rented house, somewhere near the airport, however he wasn't alone, as Rayna decided to rent a 5 bedroom home plus one guest bedroom for the week, which was extremely unnecessary, but you can't argue with someone with a father who owns 3 tech companies. The time was the morning, the rays of the sunlight gleaming through the window curtains, reflecting off the varnished floor lighting the ceiling.
He sat down on a stool, placing his arms on the cold marble surface. Satoya leaned his cheek onto the palm of his hand, tapping the glass. Although it was the morning, the others had already left to buy lunch, as the time was 11:23 am. He simply sat there pondering, reflecting on the entire interrogation by Rin, but also realized he hasn't gotten a single Regulator Contract since that same amusing day where he got punched across the mall by a guy in a music note fashioned suit, and some idiot who made a deal with an Ancient Crucible, and the mysteriousness of Rin himself.
"Elite ranks are weird.." he said out loud, taking a sip out of the glass of water. The reason why he chose not to go with the others to buy food for lunch was because he wanted time in peace, to actually research and learn something, which is wow—what a surprise. He had bought a new phone, or well, Rayna bought him a phone, since a phone in Rieamaius costs generally around 560,000 Alikurs, the price is that expensive due to Rieamaius having taxes that are literally 85% of the original cost, but not really a big deal for a person with wealthy parents.
His new phone was still on, the screen facing up, he was reading a website, particularly a website regarding Veritys and how to use it.. How exactly? The website only had one sentence in the entire page, "You literally use it by instinct, you can practice using it for efficiency, and well, using influx responsibly."
What does it mean by influx? Like an influx of birds or something?
Satoya tapped the term influx on the website, bringing him to another page, abruptly stating:
Influx: The energy that comes from a Truth Seeker's elusive Solace, influx is this teal light that makes up that very Elusive Solace. Truth Seeker's or anyone else aside from the Cataclysm of the 6th disaster, Takeru Oshima has any way of seeing or gauging how much influx someone has or has left, truth seekers can simply sense whether or not someone else is a truth seeker by focusing hard enough.
Satoya stared blankly at the screen, "So it's just mana? Uhm, that's simpler than I thought…" He clicked his phone off, hearing the front door being knocked, during the knocking he heard "SATOYA! OPEN THE F***ING DOOR, WE BOUGHT TOO MUCH FOOD!" He had also heard another person, he couldn't directly pin point whether it was Rayna or Shizune yell out "WE? YOU BOUGHT TOO MUCH!"
Satoya stood up from the stool, and walked to the front door, rotating the door knob and letting them enter. Shizune was carrying 6 bags, 3 large bags of clothes on one arm, 3 on the other, and it reminded him, Rayna sure does love La Ropagante, that one expensive clothing shop from the 4th Capital's Cervantes country, with absurd and quite frankly, ugly clothing. He saw Shizune weakly walk through the living room, before completely collapsing from the weight.
"Considering how she can swing a crowbar around, she sure doesn't have the strength to hold 6 shopping bags full of clothes.." Satoya commented, holding the door until everyone else entered the house.
"Shizune, are you alright?" Rayna called, taking out food from the plastic bags. Satoya wondered how much clothing was inside the shopping bag, considering he can tell how bulky they are, so he faced Rayna and pointed his hands, "how many clothes did you buy? You guys left at 10:20.."
Rayna grabbed a piece of fried chicken out of a plastic container, taking a bite out of it, before speaking in a casual manner, "huh? Oh, not much, around 480,200 Alikurs."
As if he expected that diabolical answer, he sighed in acceptance, strolling to Shizune who was still on the ground. She felt as if her arms were noodles, and was defeated. Until Satoya squatted beside her, "you know Isaac's gonna eat everything right? Mind as well, eat as much as you can."
With that said Shizune quickly sprung up, and frantically sat and helped Rayna and Johnathan take the food out. Edward himself was trying to shield Isaac from going near the table.
"Satoya! You gonna eat?" Rayna asked, she was already sitting, facing the TV that was poised on the wall. Shizune also got her share of food, her plate consisted of a couple fried chicken, which Satoya assumed to be Maehwan Fried Chicken, salad, and a slice of garlic bread.
Satoya shook his head, despite the enticing aroma of food, Satoya paid no attention to his appetite. That is until Isaac threw him a wrapped sandwich, and so Satoya began to unwrap it and took a bite out of it. The sandwich was quite interesting, there were slices of beef, lettuce, tomato, oddly enough miso, and a slice of gouda cheese.
Rayna scolded Isaac, her glare was that of a lion. "Isaac, don't throw food, if we make a mess I'm gonna force you to clean it up." but Isaac laughed, "c'mon! I had to order an extra sandwich for Satoya cus he always says he isn't hungry, but look at him! He's built like bamboo!"
Satoya, while taking small bites out of his sandwich, was watching the TV, which didn't really interest him. He isn't really a fan of drama, news or anything along that—Quite a boring person, no matter how many Okamuraese animated shows Edward or Rayna or even Johnathan suggested, Satoya would often politely tell them he'll watch but never look at a single pixel.
Shizune couldn't help but look at Satoya, she was surprised to say the least, about Satoya's answer to Rin's polite question.
"We are at risk of a disaster at any time, so why not find a resolution to this… ever-stained world?"
When she was listening to the conversation between Rin and Satoya, she was bored, even after Rin asked him the question, she knew Satoya would probably answer with the least most exhausting solution, but why did he suddenly say that? What did he mean? Did being a Truth Seeker impact Satoya's entire behavior and mentality? Of course no one aside her is debating that predicament since she was the only one who heard it asides Rin.
What did he mean by "find a resolution to this ever-stained world"? We are in a Revitalisation period! The last disaster was 230 years ago!
A Revitalisation period is a period of time following the conclusion of a disaster. A disaster cannot end until the Cataclysm of the disaster perishes. Revitalisation periods always occur directly after, serving as the restoration period for humanity. The only case where there wasn't a Revitalisation period after a disaster was the 4th and 5th disaster, where immediately after the Cataclysm of the 4th disaster was killed, the next Cataclysm—the cataclysm of the 5th disaster—Was already chosen. Even the fabled 6th disaster had a Revitalisation period of 750 years before the 7th disaster. The major reason for why the technological advancements haven't really reached the greatest heights was also impacted by the disasters, always halting the advancements.
Shizune turned away from Satoya, who was oblivious to the fact that he was being stared at. She grabbed her plate and washed it herself, scrubbing the plate clean before washing her hand. She was resisting the urge to splash water at either Edward, Satoya or Rayna—maybe not Rayna.
So she contemplated, eyeing Satoya and Edward, but she decided against it, and wiped her hands off a towel. She then approached the sofa, until she heard a news reporter.
"The East and South division of the Compass Treaty has declared war on the 3rd Capital's Gungnir and Rosenlund Countries Civilians, as of the information we received, we are unsure of the reason!"
Out of instincts, Shizune playfully shrugged, saying:
"Damn, South's a bitch huh?"
