Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Bloodline Meditation Technique

As soon as his consciousness brushed against the reward option, a powerful surge of spiritual energy flooded into Uchiha Kirin's mind from the void, cool and invigorating. The current split into three distinct streams:

One surged into his eyes, instantly activating and spinning his double tomoe Sharingan on its own.

Another shot into his soul, tempering and refining his spiritual strength until it felt dense and powerful, as if forged through countless trials.

The final—and most potent—stream swept through his spiritual world, bringing with it all the Genjutsu techniques he had learned in the simulated world, along with the insights he had developed for his self-created technique: Soul Slash.

As he absorbed the overwhelming strength flowing through his spirit, Uchiha Kirin couldn't help but feel the desire to reshape the world. He didn't know if this impulse came from the Uchiha clan's natural instincts... or was just a delusion brought on by his rapidly growing power.

But with the Uchiha Clan Massacre looming, survival was still his top priority. In just a few seconds, Kirin grounded himself in reality.

Daydreams were fine—but first, he had to live long enough to make them happen.

He quickly opened the [Loot System] to review the spoils from his most recent kill.

〖Target confirmed deceased〗

〖Two loot items selected based on maximum value〗

『1』648 points of Speed

『2』A-Rank Ninjutsu: Lightning Style – Lightning Body Flicker

"Seriously?! Lightning Body Flicker? Where's the Lightning affinity?!"

Kirin had hoped to draw the Lightning Nature Affinity from the target to complete his elemental spread. Instead, he got Lightning Body Flicker. While not a bad jutsu, it was utterly useless to him at the moment since he didn't even have Lightning affinity.

"Looks like the system values an A-Rank jutsu higher—or at least equal to—a new Nature Affinity…"

Fortunately, 648 points in Speed was still a huge win. That alone put him well within the upper ranks of a Chūnin in terms of raw movement. Considering the enemy had both Lightning affinity and a top-tier Speed-based technique, it made sense that Kirin had lost to him repeatedly in earlier simulations.

That said, just assembling a three-man Chūnin team with complementary skills like that was already an impressive feat. Add in the knowledge of barrier techniques, and then imagine Root deploying who knows how many such squads to besiege the Uchiha compound...

The depth of Root's resources was terrifying.

At the very least, the Uchiha didn't have the manpower to field a barrier team of that scale or coordination.

After claiming his loot, Kirin took a moment to feel the changes in his body.

His tendons had grown stronger, thicker, yet retained flexibility and dexterity. His fingertips and toes tingled faintly—evidence of his nerves being strengthened and enhanced. His mind felt sharper, his thoughts faster—clear signs of improved reflexes and cognitive speed.

Unlike Strength or Endurance, Speed was harder to perceive directly. But its importance couldn't be overstated.

—After all, aside from his signature Rasengan and the space-time jutsu Flying Thunder God, the Fourth Hokage Namikaze Minato's most terrifying power was his reaction speed.

Even the Raikage, famed for his speed, lagged slightly behind Minato in terms of reflexes, despite being boosted by Lightning Release. Minato's true edge lay not just in his techniques, but in how his superhuman reaction speed allowed him to unleash them at ten, even a hundred times their normal potential.

...

As the euphoria of his strengthened body faded, Uchiha Kirin turned his attention back to his current stats:

〖Simulator〗

〖Speed: 708〗

〖Endurance: 600〗

〖Spirit: 543〗

〖D-Rank: Basic Taijutsu, Chakra Refinement Technique, Basic Uchiha Swordsmanship, Clone Technique, Transformation Technique, Substitution Technique, Demonic Illusion – Hell Viewing〗

〖Simulation Points: 4〗

After so many simulation runs, Kirin's overall physical capabilities had finally reached the level of a Chūnin—arguably even high-tier Chūnin. And with this run's gains, he now possessed several powerful jutsu:

Three A-Rank techniques—one of which was self-developed—two B-Rank techniques, and a wide array of foundational C- and D-Rank skills.

On paper, he was strong enough to go toe-to-toe with a Special Jōnin. Considering his early Sharingan awakening and his talent for creating original jutsu, he already met Konoha's criteria for Special Jōnin promotion.

But… stats were just stats.

Thanks to the simulation memories, Kirin was reasonably skilled with many techniques—but in terms of real combat experience, he was still a rookie. Let alone going up against true Special Jōnin, much less full Jōnin. And the gap between Jōnin and Kage was like a chasm.

At this level, he could maybe influence a localized skirmish… but turning the tide of war? Not yet.

"So in short—I need more training."

Still, the power boost helped ease his anxiety over the coming Uchiha Massacre. This simulation system really did build like a snowball:

For ordinary people, entering it would just waste time. For Genin-level users, most runs would yield little progress. But for those at Chūnin level, it became a stable way to farm useful jutsu or rare items—and sometimes, unexpected rewards. If a Jōnin were to enter...

...

Kirin waved his hand and laid out the items he had just received. First were two identical-looking scrolls.

He picked one up carefully and began to unroll it.

This was the Uchiha clan's Genjutsu Compendium—starting from basic D-Rank illusions, all the way up to S-Rank techniques like Genjutsu: Space-Time, the pinnacle of illusion under the Kekkei Genkai. It was said to be derived from a Mangekyō ability by an Uchiha elder who had dissected his own dōjutsu to create it.

Excluding forbidden techniques like Izanagi and Izanami, which guaranteed blindness upon use, this scroll represented a thousand years of Uchiha Genjutsu heritage.

The scroll was enormous. Kirin knew full well that, with his current double tomoe Sharingan, there was no way he could memorize the whole thing—or even a fraction.

However, at the very end of the scroll, he discovered something intriguing: a meditation technique designed to hone spiritual power, paired with a set of eye exercises meant to support Sharingan activation. Together, they were called the Bloodline Meditation Technique—created specifically to help awaken the Uchiha's Kekkei Genkai through spiritual cultivation.

In the shinobi world, the easiest thing to grow was Chakra. As long as your physical and spiritual strength were up to par, anyone could endlessly refine Chakra using the standard Chakra Refinement Technique, boosting their reserves over time.

But to increase physical or spiritual strength? That could only be done through relentless training.

Physical strength was easier—you could train your body. But Spirit was trickier. It had to be cultivated through practicing Chakra-based techniques and gaining insight through experience—abstract, difficult, and indirect.

Aside from the Spirit Transformation Technique sealed in the Forbidden Scroll, only the Yamanaka clan had spiritual training jutsu. Yet here was proof the Uchiha had one too.

A true thousand-year clan, no doubt.

Still, at the end of this unusual training method, there was a grim note:

Due to the dilution of Uchiha blood over generations, this method could no longer reliably produce even three-tomoe Sharingan users. The chances of awakening Susanoo had become increasingly slim…

Add to that the escalating wars—where combatants shifted from adults, to teens, to children as young as four or five—there was simply no time left to cultivate something like the Bloodline Meditation Technique.

After that, no one ever annotated or updated it again.

Thus, the Uchiha's Sharingan evolution shifted from a stable awakening in adulthood to desperate awakenings in combat—through sacrificing lovers and friends, or descending into madness...

...

"This is perfect for me!"

Kirin might not have much time before the Uchiha Massacre—but with the simulator, time was the one thing he had in abundance!

A technique that steadily enhanced ocular power and Spirit, with even a slim shot at unlocking the Mangekyō? Far more reliable than gambling on grief or rage.

So, despite having activated his Sharingan, Kirin didn't bother memorizing any of the scroll's Genjutsu.

Instead, he burned the Bloodline Meditation Technique into his mind, waiting for a simulation where he could survive long enough to begin practice.

With a flick of his hand, he stored the Genjutsu Compendium back into the system's space.

Then, with another wave, he dropped a ruby-red eyeball into the small bowl he had already prepared.
