Claire Scott was born to Lena and Trevor Scott in Los Angeles. In 2034, when she was twelve her mother died in a fire, and she has been much of a mother to her brother ever since because her father became distant and an alcoholic. One night she was in the woods attempting to convince her brother to come home and they stumbled upon what seemed like an abandoned building. They then found themselves struck by a wave a cosmic energy released by the Violet Ronin. After being stricken by the wave, Claire and her brother's entire genetics changed and they both gained abilities. Claire's power was reading minds, but it evolved, giving her skills over other psionic abilities.
Following an attack at their school, Claire and her brother spent some time at Marcus's mansion with the others who were at the school and since they all were special, they decided to form The Circle.
