"I already told you that things wouldn't be as easy as you think! Now, that cunning king will easily kill you if you insist on going to his palace alone." Even though Rich had given her many suggestions not to act recklessly, Luna felt that this move was a calculated one.
Luna had rested for two days. She had also prepared a servant's outfit that she got from her home. She had once worn this outfit to kill a man who played an important role in building many wells in Mierre-Park.
The kingdoms on this island were like cities in various regions of her world. The king of the kingdom in Georgia Island had a moral responsibility to report their performance to the people and the Emperor.
Among the countless duties the Emperor gave to those kings, some people were blinded by their positions and used the money for things they were not supposed to. Many evil people were greedy for the Emperor's gold, like Finn—or perhaps Finn was one of them.
However, over time, Luna realized not everyone was evil, including the man she had killed. Just for a hundred gold coins that meant nothing, Luna began to question her loyalty to the truth. Because of that, there was a feeling of regret for killing that man when Luna should have been an enforcer of justice, even in a different world.
Luna looked at herself in the mirror. She shouldn't be suspected of her appearance today. Especially if she went with someone who was an acquaintance of Rich. Rich had said that this person was one of his informants who had obtained information about Rhea.
"I'm already in this outfit, Rich. Sooner or later, I will enter that place with my friends. But I don't want to waste time. What I want is for my friends to enter the palace when I already know where Rhea is." Said Luna in Rich's study room.
The man was staring at the bustle of the night in the middle of the city through his window. Mierre-Park was an ancient city currently being rebuilt by Emperor Alric. The Emperor had given a lot of funds just to rebuild this historically rich city.
As Luna recalled, Emperor Alric had poured in money because he was interested in the culture of Mierre-Park, which was better preserved compared to Narima Beach, which felt more like a trading city, not a tourist city.
A soft knock from outside the room made them both turn. Luna was still standing near the door while Rich was gazing at the celebration in the city from his window.
"Come in, Jan," Luna said in the silence of the room. She somehow knew that only Jan would be allowed to enter and leave Rich's study.
"Not Jan, it's Vincent." Said Rich, leaning against the wall opposite the woman.
"Good evening, My Lord," Luna observed as Vincent passed by her just like that. She saw the man's back moving toward Rich. Luna stepped closer to them, wanting to hurry into the palace so she could find out where her sister was.
"Vincent, this is Luna. The older sister of Rhea was taken into the palace." Rich introduced the woman to Vincent, who immediately turned to Luna.
The man, wearing a guard's outfit, had a cloak draped around his waist, trying to conceal his identity under the night's darkness.
This cloak was a kind of covering cloth with strings on its ends so it could be tied to wrap the body in winter. However, Vincent wasn't wearing it to avoid the cold, but to avoid being recognized.
Luna examined Vincent's face. He had neatly cut brown hair and a thin mustache above his lip. His skin was almond-toned, slightly golden, with beautiful hazel eyes.
"Good evening, I'm Vincent." Luna nodded several times while staring at the handsome face in front of her. The man was handsome—he could divert Luna's attention just by looking at her for a few seconds.
"When are you going to stop nodding?" Luna was pulled from her thoughts by that voice and stopped nodding as soon as she heard Rich's voice beside Vincent.
"I'm Luna, Luna Gritte Wil—I mean Luna Everglow. I'm Rhea's older sister." Luna shook Vincent's hand for a few seconds. She pulled her hand away when she sensed something odd inside her. There was no way she could be interested in Vincent.
Luna tried hard to deny being attracted to the man. Vincent was handsome, Luna admitted that. But the man wasn't real. What Luna meant was, he wasn't like her. He wasn't someone who got pulled into this game.
"Are you planning to enter the palace now?" Vincent asked, as if he already understood that Luna's reason for wearing a servant's outfit was that she wanted to sneak in without being suspected by anyone.
"Yes, take her to Rhea. I'm sure only you can take that girl safely." Ordered Rich to Vincent, who was one of his men.
"But we have a problem, My Lord. It's not about Rhea now—it's about King Finn," said Vincent in the middle of their conversation about Rhea. "I have to report this immediately because everything happening will affect our business."
"What is it? Is Finn causing trouble again now?" asked Rich. Luna listened to their conversation; she had no intention of chiming in, afraid she might be off-topic.
"I heard they're planning to kill the Emperor. Besides that, the port at Narima Beach will be shut down if Finn succeeds in becoming emperor," Vincent said.
Luna observed the two men speaking like close friends. They seemed to have known each other for years, able to speak this casually even though Vincent still kept some boundaries as Rich's subordinate.
"Has this already become talk around the palace?" Rich asked then.
"Yes, Finn's obsession with becoming emperor is growing stronger. Especially after hearing that the emperor's two sons have lost their memories. No one knows who spread the rumor, but somehow everyone has heard it." Vincent's words just now made Luna turn her head quickly.
The Emperor's two sons, Prince Harry and Prince Darren, had lost their memories.
Just like Luna, who also lost her memory when she entered this world.
Which means... Darren and Luna are the same. The two of them came from the same world.
