Chapter 45 - Chapter 45

After he was able to create the basic hand to hand combat skill she told him to rest. For the entire day he could do whatever he wanted.

He couldn't check on Snow since she left with Cathra so he decided to continue training. For the whole day he did yoga poses with acid bowls on his body in 3 times gravity.

The following day, she looked at him like he's an idiot. I thought I told you to rest. I did. You call that resting? Compared to what you put me through, yes.

Well fine then, we are done with hand to hand combat so it time to move on to swordmanship or any other weapon you like. I prefer swords.

Good, swords are great weapons, versatile and easier to use. She passed him a normal sword. Show me what you got. He knew his swordmanship was even worse than his hand to hand combat.

He started swinging his sword, she watched him for a few minutes with a frown then started correcting his stances. He could tell he was improving but something still felt off.

That swords doesn't fit well with you, there is zero resonance, try this. She passed him another sword, he continued his swings yet it still felt wrong.

Her frown deepened, she passed him another and another and another yet none seem to resonate with him. Maybe I'm not suited for the sword, he said.

No, the sword is your weapon that much I can tell, we just haven't found the right one for you. They had tried multiple swords, from rapiers, greatswords and even cleavers yet none worked.

What type of sword do you like? I don't know, he was never a weapons enthusiast even in his past life, I do think the curved sword is not bad.

Curved sword, do you mean a Dao sword or Katana? It looks like a Katana but it longer and heavier. Mmm, must be an odachi, well brat I don't have an odachi with me so use this.

She crushed a great sword that probably weighed around 300kg into powder like it was nothing, golden energy covered the metal powder and stretched it.

A rough looking odachi appeared, it was blunt and could barely even be called a sword. He took it and it immediately felt right, like it belonged in his hand.

A smile surfaced her face, good, now then, let get back to it. He continued his sword swing with her helping to adjust his stances. He only did three moves.

Slash stab and parry, slash stab and parry over and over again until his arms were sore then she would increase the gravity and he had to repeat everything.

He did this for two weeks straight without a second of rest, Athena had tried to tell him to stop lest he leaves permanent damage to his body, he would just flash his healing magic which would shut her up.

Even after two weeks he still had not developed a sword skill, patient as he was he was starting to get frustrated. It was on his third week that the long awaited notification finally came.

( Notice, skill-basic swordmanship had been created). He sighed, finally, he said with a heavy breath. Good, now the good stuff begins, she said with a grin.

What do you mean? Ohhh you'll find out. They left the training room and went straight for a star gate. He wanted to ask where they were going but chose against it.

They arrived in another star world, it was a mining world under the Nodal kingdom, it was filled with all kinds different minerals, the ground here was also dense.

The gravity was higher, about the level of 4 times gravity in the training room. He wondered how the miners could even survive here until he noticed how big and buff everybody around them were.

Very few people looked normal and he could sense a tremendous amount of mana from them, probably E or D rank they were. However the others stood at around 3 metres tall but he could not sense any mana on them.

The women were the ones standing at 3 metres tall, the men were about 4 and he had even seen some that stood at 5 metres tall. He also noticed each had a diamond shaped crystal on their foreheads.

Athena noticed the slight curiosity In his eyes. That the crystal race, she whispered. He looked at her with confusion. The crystal race is one of the dominant races in the world alongside humans and others like elves.

How many races are there. Brat, how should I know that? Do I look like a library to you? Well I mean as a princess I expected you learnt about those things, for politics or something.

They did try to force me to but nobody can force me to do anything, she said with a proud look. Anyways, as I was saying. They can strengthen their bodies and affinity through absorbing crystals.

So when another race discovers a crystal core star world they usually cut a deal with the crystal race. In exchange for a share of the crystals they would mine and refine the crystals for the other party.

Also, they are very strong, one of the few races know to rival dragons in pure body strength but they have to absorb enough pure crystals for that.

That sounds troublesome. How so? If they need crystals to grow stronger won't they be stuck when the world runs out of crystals? Hahaha, world runs out of crystals? That hilarious, she laughed at him.

The world expands in all directions, including the crystal domains so knew star worlds are being born every now and then, their maturing rate might be slow but crystals can still be mines even when the star world is young, though they won't be as pure.

The only way they would run out of crystals is if the world itself dies, also, they can level up like the other races, the crystals just strengthens their bodies and affinities beyond their normal state but even without them they would still be one of the dominant races.

Also every single one of them is born at D rank. Really? That doesn't sound fair. It not but the world is not fair. Like I told you before, amongst the sentient races we are born amongst the weakest but we have the highest potential, we just have to work hard for it.

If you surprised by this then wait till you learn at what rank are the mythical beasts like Dragons and Phoenix born at. They continued along the street.

The crystal people kept greeting her with smiles, he wondered what that was all about. Wait here, she said as she went to talk to a huge man with a red crystal on his forehead.

He went to talk to a human looking guy who looked like a guard. Hello there sir. Yes, how are you? He nodded. Can I ask you a question?

Depends, what kind of question. It a simple question. Go ahead. Why does everybody treat her like that? He asked pointing at Athena.

The war princess? That because the crystal people respect strength above all else, especially if it the strength of ones body rather than magic and she is one of the best.

She used to come here as a kid to start a fight, she beat every single one of her peers until him, he pointed at the big guy talking to Athena.

That Crollo, he was the first to fight Athena to a draw when they were young, Ahh the good ol days, the man sighed with a reminiscing look . That boy is now the second strongest of his people in this star world.

You talk like an old man. I am an old man boy, the man said. You don't look that old though. You're right, i do look develishly handsome for a few hundred years old geezer, the man said rubbing his face with a satisfied smile. He chose to leave him alone.

Athena came back, let go. She picked him up, golden wings sprouted from her back and she jumped into the air. Wind hit him like a bullet train.

He watched as the ground zipped past then in a blur. The air kept exploding as they sped up, they were now moving much faster than the speed of sound.

They zipped past very large birds in the air, the weaker ones were killed by the shockwaves of their speed while the stronger and much larger ones seemed a little fazed but overall fine.

As they were flying at such speed he heard flapping sounds and screaming air. He looked behind them and a flock of giant birds with crystal feathers were chasing after them.

Athena looked behind and clicked her tongue. Annoying, she whispered. Her hand glowed gold and thousands of gold swords appeared in the sky.

They fell on the flock like rain. The red crystal wings on the leading bird glowed. A huge red spherical barrier covered the flock blocking her swords.

Seems this won't be as easy as I expected. A golden sphere covered him. Go wait there, the sphere dropped to the ground at blinding speeds.

He wondered if she really intended to fight so many beasts by herself. This woman is crazy, he thought.
