Cherreads

Chapter 7 - Beginning of meeting (7)

When Dahlia saw Izrail's fighting style, Dahlia was amazed. Every attack by Izrail seemed calculated and gave a big, severe wound.

Dahlia saw pieces of Humungo's scales scattered on the ground due to being unable to block Izrail's attacks, and thought that Izrail himself was able to face Humungo alone.

However, she did not intend to make someone face such a strong monster alone, because she knew that her chances of winning were not great.

"We have to take him down so that it is easier to attack other areas. Can you aim for his head?"

"I'll try." Karen replied.

"We need to make him unable to move. I want you to sneak up and continue to paralyze him as much as possible."

"Okay." Dahlia replied.

Dahlia was the one who was given the responsibility to handle the mission, but she did not mind if it was taken by someone like Izrail because her head was currently quite full with how to deal with Humungo.

"What about me?" Leo asked.

"Keep doing what you're doing. Interfere with his recovery as much as possible... Let's attack him until he runs out of strength."

Leo became even more enthusiastic after hearing the answer, he energetically used all his strength to attack the already injured area to make the impact even greater.

Karen went up and down several buildings around, and threw her hammer right at Humungo's head; Izrail and Leo attacked from below; while Dahlia continued to interfere with Humungo's movements.

Humungo finally fell down because he was dizzy and unable to stand up.

"This is the time, attack with your best attack!" Izrail released a purple aura in his palm, and channeled it into the blade of his weapon.

When he swung it several times, orange fire shadows were left in the air, and spread around Humungo's body.

"[Line of Flame]."

The fire shadows slashed Humungo's entire body, and left burning wounds before exploding.

Humungo screamed in pain as his flesh was torn and scattered.

Leo then launched a series of attacks, and when Humungo was about to retaliate, Dahlia immediately paralyzed him.

But it didn't stop there, a silhouette appeared in the air.

Dahlia was a little surprised when she saw Karen jumping from the building with her large hammer that was shining and seemed to be emitting a little steam.

"Karen, your weapon is starting to overheat!"

"I know!"

Karen fired the hammer as fast as she could. As soon as it hit Humungo's body, the hammer immediately exploded, adding to the damage that had already occurred.

Leo commented. "I've never seen that before. Oh?!."

Seeing Karen fall, Leo tries to catch her, but he is crushed by her because he is not prepared.

"I'm okey."

"As expected. You're weak if you can't hold a female's body." Karen replied.

The smell of flesh and blood was in the air. In just 2 minutes after Izrail arrived, the fight turned around and now Humungo was dead.

Dahlia saw the results of their battle which was more brutal than she had ever experienced. It wasn't the first time she faced a Master-tier monster, but she usually faced it in a larger group or at least 2 teams.

She was no longer a D-rank warrior, so battles like this would probably come often... She still had to prepare himself more.

The night was getting darker, they decided to meet up with the others first before continuing the mission.

"So it's you." Karen said.

"What's with that unenthusiastic tone?" Faris replied.

Since the mission was handed over to Zen, of course the ones who helped were his members, Izrail was only an addition or replacement.

The group began to share the latest information, each of which surprised the other party~

Area 5 had previously been cleared enough, leaving only Common-tier monsters that the guards in the project could handle.

However, the sudden increase in the density of magis energy attracted the attention of monsters in other areas, and made them able to evolve after absorbing a certain amount and time of magical energy.

Which meant that there was a possibility that more Master-tier monsters would appear there, or maybe they had already appeared.

"Then let's defeat them immediately." Leo said.

"But there might be dozens of them. We don't have a definite plan yet. Besides, we'll get tired if we explore such a large place."

"Dahlia is right. Our number of members and strength are limited, we have to be careful." Faris said.

"Oh yeah, you guys said you came here with an observer. Where is she?"

"Umm... I think she went to check on some things."

"It's dangerous for ordinary people to go out without guards. I'll go find her."

Karen watched Dahlia leave, then turned to Leo. "And it's not necessarily safe for a C-rank soldier to go out alone."

Leo immediately answered as he knew what Karen wanted. "Maybe I'll find something later."

Leo immediately chased after and accompanied Dahlia to look for the observer in question.

"It's almost 100 meters from the previous place." Dahlia said.

"Maybe she turned or is around here."

"Let's split up. I hope she didn't go too far."

Dahlia and Leo immediately separated.

The night was getting darker, Leo walked through the streets with only a dim flashlight attached to his battle suit.

The night wind blew quietly, there was no sound, only the sound of his footsteps could be heard.

As Leo continued to walk, he felt the presence of other people around him, and checked around, but found no one.

When he heard the sound of movement from inside the empty house, Leo slowly peeked, he saw a drawer that made a sound like something inside was trying to get out.

Leo was a little curious, and was about to check it.

When he turned around, a gust of sound was heard, the figure of a female with black hair that covered almost half of her face, and was wearing white clothes suddenly appeared behind him.

As the girl's hair blew in the wind, Leo could see a pale white face, and dark circles around her eyes.

As the woman's hair was blown by the wind, Leo could see a pale white face, and dark circles around the eyes.

Leo was immediately surprised, his heart seemed to jump out, and his body immediately shuddered when he saw the figure in front of him.

"Oh, you found it."

When he heard Dahlia's voice coming, Leo immediately realized that the woman in front of him might be the observer they were looking for.

The woman introduced herself as Anjie, the assistant of a professor, who was sent to check the place directly.

After they knew each other, Dahlia immediately invited them to return.

On the way, Leo tried to chat to forget what happened before, but something he did not expect suddenly happened.

"Sis Anjie, why do you look scary like that?"

Leo tried not to bring up what happened before. He did not think Dahlia would ask that.

He thought she would be angry, but the woman seemed not to blame, and told about her who was rarely exposed to sunlight and was too often in an air-conditioned room.

While the dark circles in her eyes are the result of too often studying or working, and lack of rest.

"The way she says it sounds like memorization. Is my reaction actually normal?" Leo thought.
