The Diamondhead.
Petrosapien. A silicon-based life form whose entire body is composed of light green crystalline structures.
The crystal resembles celestial jade, though they are fundamentally different. One thing is indisputable, however, his body is incredibly durable. To him, steel might as well be paper.
"I didn't expect the Diamondhead. Honestly, I think the Heatblast would've been better suited for this situation."
When things went south earlier, Bren had no time to check which alien hero his little wrist device had summoned. If he could've chosen, the Heatblast would've been his first pick. Turning these monsters to ash would've stopped their regeneration in its tracks.
"But the Diamondhead will do just fine!"
Bren glanced at his hands and clenched his fists. He could feel raw, overwhelming power coursing through his body.
No wonder, after all, the Diamondhead had defeated Vilgax one-on-one and triumphed against the Shape-shifting Demon.
Now, Bren's eyes burned with battle spirit, his green pupils reflecting the twisted faces of the monsters before him.
"Bring it on, monsters!"
Stretching his limbs, he glared at the enormous spider-like creature towering before him. To him, it was no real threat. Raising his right arm, he brought his fingers together, forming a razor-sharp blade,
In an instant, green crystalline material enveloped his arm, transforming it into a gleaming sword!
As a Petrosapien, the Diamondhead could manipulate molecular structures to reshape his body at will. His very form was a living arsenal.
"ROAR!!!"
The spider monster, still reeling from its severed pincers, bellowed in rage and pain. It was massive, like a small mountain, and its sheer size alone was suffocating.
Its mutated, bone-like appendages encased its body like an impenetrable black armor, clashing with a metallic roar as it moved.
It lunged, ready to tear Bren to shreds.
But then,
SWISH!
A flash of blade light!
Bren's arm shot upward, slicing in an arc as if cutting through the air itself.
For a moment, the spider monster didn't seem to register what had happened. Its hulking frame continued forward, but it suddenly stumbled, its compound eyes perceiving a world split in two.
A fracture blossomed down the center of its body, green ichor gushed like a torrential waterfall, painting the inner walls of the building and pooling across the central hall.
BOOM!
The tank-sized spider monster collapsed, cleaved cleanly in half by a single strike. Its once-indestructible exoskeleton crumbled like brittle tofu under the Diamondhead's blade.
Its severed legs buckled, and the monstrous body plunged down the building's depths, crashing onto the floor below with a deafening thud.
The entire structure trembled.
Bren coolly retracted his blade, his sharp gaze fixed on the lizard-like creatures surrounding him. Now, it was their turn to quiver in fear.
These creatures, once loyal to Dr. Amino, now felt terror coursing through them.
Without their master's presence, his control over them had weakened. And in the face of the Diamondhead's overwhelming power, their primal instinct, the fear of death, kicked in.
They began to retreat cautiously, their scales bristling in terror, emitting nervous hisses as they slinked backward.
Step by step, Bren advanced, his crystalline feet digging into the walls to maintain his balance. Each of his movements caused the creatures to scuttle further away, their tails coiling tightly behind them.
None wanted to be the first to run, not out of courage, but because they knew the first to flee would be the first to die.
Still, staying put meant certain slaughter.
Bren's gaze was steely, his intent murderous.
Suddenly, he lunged.
His foot smashed through the building's wall as he launched himself like a missile. His body spun, blades sprouting from his back and arms.
The whirling vortex of blades was nearly imperceptible,
SPLAT! SPLAT! SPLAT!
Blood and flesh sprayed in every direction as Bren tore through the horde like a living meat grinder.
The spinning blades generated a whirlwind, sucking in the lizard creatures along his path.
In the blink of an eye, his relentless onslaught left a trail of carnage, monsters sliced apart, heads severed, torsos cleaved, and others reduced to unrecognizable chunks of gore.
The Oscorp Tower's interior was awash with a macabre downpour of blood and viscera, flooding the lobby floor.
THUD!
Bren landed like a god of war.
"Decapitate them and sever their torsos, that's the key to stopping their regeneration, huh?"
Surveying the battlefield, littered with mangled limbs and twitching remains, Bren gauged the limits of the creatures' self-healing abilities.
It seemed Dr. Amino's mutation experiments hadn't enhanced their regenerative powers.
Looking up at the remaining creatures, Bren coldly shook off the blood coating his arm-blade.
"Now, it's time to finish the job."
The lizard monsters, witnessing the carnage, could no longer think coherently. Their only instinct was to escape this nightmare.
"Trying to run?"
Bren sneered.
These monsters had chased him relentlessly before. Now that his wrist device's cooldown was over, there was no way he'd let them go.
Retracting his blade, he slammed a heavy fist into the ground.
In a flash, crystalline structures radiated outward, engulfing the Oscorp Tower.
In seconds, the entire building transformed into a fortress of pale green crystal, impenetrable and unyielding.
The fleeing creatures crashed into the walls, only to be repelled violently.
Bren raised his arms, his hands morphing into crystal formations resembling thorns. The protruding structures locked into place like the barrels of a Gatling gun, all aimed at the trembling monsters.
"Time for you to meet the Gatling Bodhisattva!"
DA-DA-DA-DA!
