Chapter 10 - I’m a God, too

For a brief moment, they stared at each other, as if trying to peer into each other's deepest thoughts.

"May I come in?" asked Dan R Lockward.

Louis stepped aside. "Come in."

He wasn't expecting visitors at this hour, let alone someone who hadn't said a word to greet him, but Dan always treated him very well whenever he saw him, so he respected him.

He quickly sat down and stared at him for a long minute.

"Young Master... May I ask why?"

Louis smiled.

"I was deemed unworthy, just like you, Uncle."

"Like me, did you awaken a poor ability?"

"No." Louis shook his head. "I also awakened to be God."

"Then...?" Dan asked, confused.

But Louis didn't want to talk about it.

"They simply considered me unworthy, so they expelled me. But I'm not like you, uncle. At least you could lead this family and continue using the family name. They erased me directly from the family books."

Dan's eyes widened. Then he calmed down a little.

"Was it my brother?" he asked, and when Louis nodded, he frowned.

"...He's changed since he became the most powerful God." He clenched his hands tightly, interlocking his fingers.

Unfortunately, that was all he could do.

A few minutes later, he looked at Louis again. "What do you intend to do, Young Master?" he asked. "If you can't use the family name, I'm afraid... you could be in danger if your identity is discovered."

"Haha. As long as no one from the Clan says anything, there shouldn't be a problem. There are only three who know about it. You can handle it, right?" He looked at him. "I'll pay you when I can. Just don't let my identity come out."

Dan shook his head helplessly.

"Things aren't that simple here, Young Master." He sighed. "I was sent here to lead, but did you see those two? They were sent here with the same idea, and I don't understand why." He felt frustrated.

"They belong to the Earthly Beast God faction and have very strong backing. My hands are tied."

The whine in his voice was evident, to the point that Louis felt puzzled.

"Is it that difficult?"

Why would they send three people to lead a small clan?

'The family is divided, more than I thought,' Louis thought before hearing Dan's answer.

"Yes. I only run a few family businesses and a small part of the navy," he revealed. "Those two didn't come here with good intentions. Something bigger may be going on behind the scenes. That's why I came to see you, Young Master."

"To ask for my help?" he asked.

But Dan shook his head and took out a money card.

"Young Master, I haven't been able to marry, and I discovered a few years ago that I'm sterile," he said. A pitiful smile of frustration and anger revealed itself on his face.

To think that he had discovered this when he was with his beloved girlfriend, who left him for his friend, just because he was sterile.

But the past was in the past.

He continued.

"That's why I can't have children. The medicine to cure infertility is very expensive and is only sold in the Great Capitals of the world or in the Land of God, but my brother wouldn't give me the money for it. That's why I don't have children, but you are my nephew." He stared at him.

"Although we haven't seen each other much, your mother is a great woman who would surely help me if she knew my situation. She's like an older sister to me," he said.

"That's why I can't let you get involved in this family's problems. They'll kill me and they'll kill you. If you don't want to return, take this money and go east. You'll be able to live in peace there; things are simpler." He smiled.

But before he finished, his smile wasn't one of joy; it was one of nostalgia and a little pain: "Here... you won't have peace."

The card was one of those that could hold up to 300 million Jens, and Louis could tell at a glance that it was full.

However, according to his inherited memories, he didn't expect to receive that response from this person he had seen no more than four times.

That's why he was in shock.

"Young Master?" Dan pressed the card on him so he would take it.

Louis finally reacted and took the card.

Finally, Dan relaxed.

He grabbed the sword at his waist and took it off. He also removed some things from the system. Suddenly, there was a complete set of high-quality armor with a sword on the table in the middle.

"Young Master, this is my special armor. Take it; it will serve you well and protect you on your journey."

He then gave him a travel ticket that would depart in 1 hour.

"At the flying boat station, the first boat of the morning will depart eastward. I reserved a room for you before coming. With that..." Dan suddenly froze in shock, swallowing his words as he watched what Louis was doing.

After grabbing the card, Louis made sure to check the amount inside.

'300 million Jens.'

Somehow he immediately realized that... he had a huge fortune in his system right now, just a few days after being reincarnated.

'I should help him...' he thought.

Then...

Inside, a smile blossomed.

A long-term mission that gave him a good reward. Plus, it gave him a path to follow when he was wondering what to do.

That's why he smiled, moved the card between his fingers, and suddenly five more cards of the same amount appeared in his hand.

Then he placed them on the table.

PA*

A soft, elegant sound rang out.

"Uncle, if you treat me with sincerity and consider me family, then I will return that kindness to you many times over," he said, looking at him.

"Are you afraid of those guys? Do you want to regain control of the family?" he asked. But he didn't wait for his answer. "I can see in your eyes that you don't want to give up, and neither do I. I won't go back to the family, but I'll make you the next boss of R Lockward."

"Prove that you're worthy of my help, and I'll help you achieve what you want." Louis smiled magnanimously and self-sufficiently.

"Don't forget. I'm a god too."

Just then, the light of dawn streamed through the mansion's windows, making his blue eyes sparkle, making Dan tremble for a moment.
