When they were heading toward the Nidorino territory, carefully following the bug guy's map, the peaceful rustle of the forest was suddenly shattered by a piercing scream.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHH—MOVE OUTTA THE WAY!!"
Ash and Misty snapped their heads toward the noise just in time to see a blur of blonde hair and feathers charging through the undergrowth. A boy—at least, that's what it looked like—was riding a Doduo, bouncing wildly on its back, twin heads shook like a chaotic rodeo. Behind him, a furious swarm of Beedrills buzzed with bloodlust, their stingers gleaming dangerously in the sunlight.
Ash narrowed his eyes, immediately recognizing the figure despite the clumsy disguise. The haircut might've been short, the clothes baggy, but that was no boy.
He didn't say anything, though. Just raised a hand and shouted, "Hey! Over here! This way!"
The rider blinked, eyes wide with panic—then lit up with recognition at Ash's voice. "Ash?! Thank Arceus—Dodo , go! GO GO GO!"
Doduo let out a frantic squawk and veered hard toward Ash and Misty, its feathered feet pounding the forest floor like twin pistons.
Misty screamed and dove behind a tree. "WHY IS IT ALWAYS BUGS?!"
Ash stood his ground, already reaching for a Poké Ball. "Pidgeot—give us some air cover!"
With a flash of light, the massive bird soared upward, unleashing a powerful Gust that scattered the front line of Beedrills, forcing them to swerve mid-flight.
The blonde rider reached them just in time, leaping off the Doduo with a tumble-roll that almost looked practiced—except for the part where they faceplanted into a bush.
Ash offered a hand. "Nice landing, 'bro.'"
The rider groaned embarrassed, voice muffled. "Shut up…"
Misty peeked out from behind the tree. "Wait a second… is that—?"
Ash nodded with a small smirk. "Yep, she wasn't a boy."
The girl spat out a leaf. "I was doing fine until I tripped over a Weedle nest! How was I supposed to know they were everywhere?!" [ A/N :- You are just an airhead that's all]
[Ciel: Disguise status: completely blown.]
[Raphael: +1 intimacy Yellow ]
Ash held back a chuckle. "So… what exactly are you doing dressed like a boy, running through the woods on a Doduo, getting chased by a personal Beedrill parade?"
She crossed her arms, cheeks puffing slightly. "Long story."
Doduo quacked indignantly and nudged her, clearly annoyed by the whole ordeal.
Ash grinned. "Well, you can tell us the long story after we deal with the swarm. Pidgeot, one more Gust—let's send them packing!"
Pidgeot cried out with authority and whipped up another whirlwind, scattering the remaining Beedrills and driving them off into the treetops.
Silence returned to the clearing—minus the wheezing Doduo and Misty muttering something about bug spray.
Ash turned back to the girl. "Alright, never thought you had this kind of fetish . But You owe us an explanation… and probably lunch."
The girl dusted herself off, finally pulling off her cap. Long blonde hair spilled out. She looked at Ash, half-blushing, half-grateful.
"…Fine. But it's not my fetish ,I'm only doing this cause leaf told me."
Misty blinked, looking between the two like she was watching a particularly weird episode of Drama Island. "Wait… you two know each other?"
Ash nodded casually, brushing leaves off his jacket. "Yeah. We're childhood friends."
Yellow gave a small wave, still a bit red in the face. "It's… been a while."
Ash gestured between them. "Misty, this is Yellow. We go way back—like snot-nosed, mud-fight kind of back. Yellow, this is Misty. She's traveling with me. She also screams at bugs ."
"Oh come on as if there's nothing you don't like ?" Misty added sweetly, then squinted at Yellow. "Wait. Your name's Yellow? Like the color?"
"Yup." She smiled sheepishly. "Long story…"
[Ciel: Everyone in this world seems to have a naming convention inspired by crayons.]
The girls exchanged an awkward little "Hi" and "Nice to meet you," followed by the universal expression of I-have-questions-but-I'm-too-polite-to-ask. Doduo huffed loudly, clearly done with this nonsense.
Ash crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow. "So… what are you doing out here, exactly? Last I checked, you weren't the kind of girl who hangs out in bug-infested death forests."
Yellow sighed, brushing her hair back. "I was just out for a stroll with Dodo. Y'know, enjoying nature, feeling the wind in my face, all that 'peaceful day' stuff…"
Ash narrowed his eyes. "And then?"
"And then," she said dramatically, "I saw an injured Kangaskhan. It was limping, poor thing! So I stopped to heal it."
Misty softened. "Aw, that's actually kind of sweet."
"Right?" Yellow huffed, arms flailing. "So I do my little healing thing, and next thing I know—I'm lost. Totally lost. Like backtracking-for-an-hour-and-ending-up-at-the-same-dumb-rock lost."
[Ciel: Navigation skill: 1/100 fufu as always.]
[Raphael: …She's adorable but also dumb.]
Yellow continued, "Anyway, while trying to get out, I might have accidentally wandered into a giant hive of sleeping Beedrills. Like, a whole field of them. I tripped over a root, landed face-first into a stump, and boom—alarm clocks with wings!"
Ash facepalmed. "So this was a 'you' problem the whole time."
She scowled. "Excuse you, I was being helpful! Also, in my defense, I didn't expect a lot of beedrills sleeping there!"
Misty raised a hand. "I've been saying that all day."
Ash grinned. "Well, you're lucky we were nearby. Otherwise, those Beedrills would've turned you into Swiss cheese and honey.
By the way what do you mean by leaf told you to wear this."
Yellow muttered under her breath. "Leaf owes me big time for this…"
Ash blinked. "Wait, Leaf put you up to this?"
She instantly shut up.
[Ciel: I guess leaf told her to dress up like a boy to protect her]
[Raphael: yeah with how naive she is, she would be happily counting money for someone who was actually selling her.]
Ash shook his head, 'Well You two stop talking bad about Yellow. She isn't that bad.'
Misty stepped in between them. "Well, since you're both alive and the Beedrills are gone, what now?"
Ash shrugged. "We're still headed to the Nidorino territory. You can tag along if you want, Yellow."
Yellow perked up. "Sure."
Doduo sighed dramatically, as if to say, finally.
Ash chuckled. "Alright then—let's move before those Beedrills change their minds. Pidgeot, keep an eye up top. Misty, you've got rear guard."
Misty : "If I see even one Caterpie near me again, I'm running away."
Yellow blinked. "But what if it's cute?"
Ash rolled his eyes and led the way, the three of them—and one deeply tired Doduo—disappearing deeper into the forest.
As they moved through the thickening underbrush, the sounds of rustling leaves and chirping Pokémon returned, a much-needed calm after the chaos of the Beedrill chase. Pidgeot soared overhead in lazy circles, casting a broad shadow across the sun-dappled ground.
Up ahead, the path narrowed—until it abruptly opened into a quiet clearing ringed with bushes. Ash held up a hand for the group to stop.
"Hold up," he whispered, kneeling down. "We're here."
Peering through the brush, they saw them: a group of Nidoran—both male and female—nestled among the greenery. Some were lounging, others nibbling on berries, and a couple were suspiciously close… doing their thing.
Misty's eyes widened. "Uh…"
Yellow turned a shade of pink, glancing quickly away. "I-I think they're… um… bonding."
[Ciel: Ah yes, wild Pokémon: National Geographic edition.]
Ash just smirked. "Well, they are in mating season. We are in their territory."
Misty and Yellow both gave him incredulous stares.
Ash shrugged. "Hey, biology is biology."
He turned his attention to a quieter pair off to the side—two Nidoran, male and female, calmly munching on some bright blue berries. Ash reached into his bag and quietly pulled out a few Pokéblocks specially formulated for Poison-type Pokémon. He moved slowly, crouched low, and gently rolled a few toward them across the grass.
The two Nidoran paused, sniffed the Pokéblocks suspiciously, and then cautiously crept forward. After a hesitant moment, the male nibbled a piece—then scarfed the rest with enthusiasm. The female joined shortly after, her big ears twitching curiously.
Ash smiled softly. "Hey there, little guys. You like that, huh?"
The Nidoran duo looked up at him. Not alarmed—just cautious.
Ash tilted his head. "You two ever thought about traveling? There's a whole world out there beyond this forest. Battles, adventure, snacks… lots more snacks."
He held out two Poké Balls but didn't activate them—letting the Pokémon make the choice.
The male Nidoran stepped forward first, appraising him , giving Ash a slow once-over before bumping his nose to the Poké Ball lightly.
Click.
The female Nidoran hesitated for just a moment—then gave a small squeak and hopped beside Ash, pawing at the second Poké Ball.
Click.
Ash let out a soft breath, smiling warmly. "Welcome to the team."
[Raphael: They came for the snacks, stayed for the trainer.]
Behind him, Misty and Yellow watched with awe—and maybe a little admiration.
Misty crossed her arms and glanced away, cheeks still pink. "It was so easy.
Hmph. I guess that was kind of sweet… or whatever."
Yellow nodded, smiling. "You really have a way with them."
Ash stood up, holding the two Poké Balls with a casual pride. "What can I say? I speak fluent snack." [ A/N :- Foodies haha ]
He turned to the girls. "Alright. Nidoran mission complete. Let's head toward the eastern ridge—I want to catch some more females before nightfall." [A/N : Extra Pokemons like these are for Harem okay ?]
Doduo groaned behind them. Misty groaned louder.
Yellow giggled, nudging Misty lightly. "At least there probably won't be Beedrills again."
Misty gave her a flat look. "Probably isn't comforting."
As they set off deeper into the forest, the bushes behind them rustled once more—Nidoran returning to their berry munching, blissfully unaware that two of their number had just joined a very chaotic team.
