Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 - Mana Potion

The raid was now over, and everyone went their separate ways.

On the way home, I went to the same alleyway where I knocked out that one Scythe. Thankfully, he was still there, and still unconscious.

The raid, at most, took two hours to complete. Considering that, it was an appropriate time for him to be still knocked unconscious.

I pick him up, and took him to the nearest hospital.

There, I went to a counter occupied by a female nurse and told her, "Excuse me, nurse. I found this man lying on his back in an alleyway. I tried to wake him up but he didn't, so I brought him here."

"Oh… Oh! Please wait a moment!"

The nurse said in a panic, and dialed a number on the counter phone.

Seconds after a few male nurses came running, and took him away.

"Well, that's it then. I'll be going now."

I said, calmly, and turned around to walk out of the hospital.

But, before I could go any further, she stopped me by saying, "excuse me, please tell your name, so that I can tell the patient the name of his savior."

I looked at her face that had innocent eyes, and said, "don't worry about it. My name is not worth mentioning. I'm just happy I saved someone's life."

Saying that, I walked out of the hospital.

The nurse looked at my back as I walked away, and put her palms over her mouth in awe, and said, "if only there were more people like him in this world."

I, of course, had exited the hospital so I could not hear what she had said, and completely ignored it.

It was half past 8:00 am.

I finally arrived home, and what I feared the most at that moment had come true.

My parents were awake.

I thought of a bunch of excuses of course. But, it would have been even better if I did not have to tell my parents at all where I was coming from.

"I'm home"

I said, causally.

My dad saw me enter the house, and asked, "where were you? Waking up early and going outside?"

"Welcome home, Jin."

My mom responded.

Without thinking of anything, I casually said, "I was out for a walk. I was jogging."

"Ohh, staying fit, huh? Good, good! I think I should start doing some workouts too, to stay healthy."

My dad said, while posing as a bodybuilder.

"Keeping your body fit is okay, but be careful when going outside this early."

My mom said, with a worried expression.

"And you, you need to stay healthy, huh? Are you saying the food I make isn't good for you? It isn't healthy for you? Huh??"

My mom said, angrily, while staring daggers into my dad's eyes.

"N-no… that's not what I meant, I just said I should start working out…"

My dad responded, averting his eyes from the angered mom.

"Just hurry up and eat your breakfast!"

My mom said. While turning around, and putting breakfast in the plates.

"Jin, go wash your hands and eat."

My mom said, still a bit sour from earlier.

After not only washing my hands, but also throughly washing my whole body, and eating breakfast after, I went to my room.

"Alright, let's see how this is gonna work."

I said, while I sat on my bed.

"First, medicinal herbs"

As soon as I said that, the same medicinal herbs I put in my shadow began to come out.

They started coming out from the shadow of my feet.

"Next, Crystallized Mana"

Same as before, they came out from the shadow of my feet.

"Next, Mana Stone"

That too came out the same way, but it had a little bit of green blood on it, so I immediately put it back in my shadow.

"Before I take out the blood, I need something I can store it in."

I said as I stood up, and went downstairs in the kitchen.

Thankfully, no one was there.

I looked around to find something, but I could not.

I then spotted a small steel pot, and grabbed it. I took it with me in my room.

I put the steel pot on the floor, and sat down with it.

I removed the lid, and moved my index finger of my right hand on top of the pot.

"Let's just hope this works."

As I said that, blood began pouring out of the tip of my index finger, and flowed straight into the pot. Of course, it was not my blood. It was the Goblin King Shaman's blood.

Using the same method, I took out the Mana Stone, and put it in the pot.

Mana Stones can be found in any monster. They are the core of a monster. Much like how humans cannot live without a heart, monsters cannot live without a Mana Stone. Mana Stones servers as a heart for them. It is also a very valuable item. When killed, one can extract the Mana Stone out of a monster, and sell it to the Scythes Association, or any other business that works with monster materials.

"Now, I just have to melt each item and blend it together until it is finally made into a Mana Potion."

I said as I looked at the blood filled pot with a Mana Stone swimming in it.

I picked up the pot, and took it in my bathroom.

I put the elongated toilet seat down, and placed the pot on it.

"How do I bowl it now? If I go down, mom is gonna find out. But, if I stay here I'm never making a Mana Potion. And it reeks!"

I said, pondering while looking at the pot.

"Aurg! What do I do?!"

I pondered even further.

[ New Skill Acquired: Fire ]

"Ohh, convenient! Good work Wisdom!"

I said as I complemented Wisdom's absolutely amazing abilities.

"With this, I can finally start making Mana Potions!"

I said, excitedly.

I then picked up the blood filled pot, and placed it in the bathtub.

"Alright, let's begin!"

I said, excitedly, as if I could finally do what I could not. As if something I was unable to do, I could finally do with no hindrance.
