Chapter: 15, Mana Blessed
"So… Mana is the fundamental energy of our world. Every living creature in our world has some amount of mana in them." Lilith began.
"But mana isn't something like a life force. Mana is a type of indicator on how strong a being or creature is. Even if a person has never specifically cultivated mana in their body but has gone through intense physical training can also have a high amount of mana in them.
"But if someone doesn't have even an ounce of mana in them, then there are three possibilities as to why."
Aldric asked her "Which three possibilities?"
"First: that person is an otherworlder, just like you who haven't integrated mana into your body.
"Second: That person has a special condition which makes them unable to hold mana in their bodies. It sounds rare but is pretty common in our world. Those people are compensated with an extraordinary physique that makes them physically stronger than other people.
"And the Third is…"
"What is it?" Kieran asked enthusiastically.
"That the person is either a Spirit Lord or a Spirit King. Which you can relate to if I explain in levels
"People who have overcome their second trial and have successfully reached beyond level 200 are called 'Spirit Lord'. And people who reach level 250 or above are what we call Spirit Kings.
"They are one of the top powerhouses in our world. Let me say, even his majesty the emperor is currently only an initial stage Spirit Lord after he completed his second trial about five years ago. He still has a long way to go before he becomes a spirit king, since even after being a spirit lord for five years, he is only in level 203."
The three boys gulped hard, thinking about how hard it must be to become the strongest. But there also burned a passion to see what limits they have, how strong they can become in this world of magic.
The other four people were not too interested in her introduction class, but they showed just enough reaction that it looked like they were paying attention.
"Since you all are otherworlders, you need to work hard in order to integrate mana in yourself. First we'll focus half a month on physical practice and then you'll try to form a mana core." She continued.
"Hey miss Lilith? Why do we need to do physical workout for mana training? Isn't mana supposed to be something like a spiritual thing, that doesn't interact with the material world?" The person who asked the question was Caspian this time.
"A good and familiar question…" Lilith smiled
"But you have a wrong impression of our world's Mana. The mana in our world isn't a spiritual energy. Our world's mana is also called the 'World's Stamina'."
"World's Stamina?" someone asked.
"Yes, world's stamina. In our world, planets have their own consciousness, life force and stamina and things in place of organs that are necessary for its survival. If there is any problem in any of those things, the planet will summon disasters like flood, drought, tsunami and other natural disasters.
"Everything in our world is derived from the planet's will, so we already have things like life force, and mana, the world's stamina in our world that signifies someone's strength.
"As to why the world's stamina is like energy, while our stamina isn't like that. That's because…"
"Because?" Aldric signed her to continue.
"I don't know." Lilith continued
She then added, her smile not fading but becoming a bit stiff, "Actually, none of us know the actual biology of the world. We still have many organs of the world to discover. Currently, we only have discovered two of the supposed seven world cores. Yes we call those organs like thing cores, world cores to be specific."
Kieran raised his hand, "Can you tell us what those two world cores are?" he asked, his eyes bright like a little child hearing about real superheroes.
"Sure. The most important core of a world is the heart. It's at the core of the planet. Obviously, it has its own protective measures. The heart is protected by four layers of protection, Ying, Yang, Darkness and the other one is a mystery since no one has ever reached that layer."
"And the next one is the veins, called the 'Earth Veins'. They are a type of crystalline veins that surround the entire planet underground. They are intricately engraved five kilometers below the surface area, like a big weave of blood vessels. They mostly have a large amount of Mana inside them.
"The amount is so huge that even the only person who has reached the highest level of 500. We call them the Mystics. They are the strongest in our world, having lifespans reaching about hundreds of thousands of years.
"But even they claim that only by getting in a close range to Earth Veins, they would disintegrate to nothingness by the sheer amount of mana. Currently, we have yet to find a way to utilise that huge amount of mana."
Suddenly, Dain had an epiphany. He was able to get a Primeval Rank flaw by just using the four percent charge of the Envisioning skill. What if he creates a Primeval Rank attribute enhancing his mana?
With a Thought, Dain used Envisioning. He then opened his status window to see the new attributes.
