Hearing Killua's resolute words, Silva chuckled. "Want to see your friends?"
"Yeah!" Killua nodded.
The door behind them opened. A butler stood respectfully, bowing to Silva. Behind the butler, a figure appeared, causing Killua's eyes to light up.
"Gon!!"
"Killua!!"
"You're here? I didn't expect that," Killua exclaimed, glancing gratefully at Silva.
The Zoldyck family's residential area was never open to outsiders. Those who entered were either guests or enemies. Silva bringing Gon here meant he intended to let Killua leave, no longer restraining him.
Silva smiled at Killua's happiness. 'If he can be with his friends, that's good. But you'll come back, Killua. You're my son.'
Silva casually glanced at Gon. He was talented, on par with Killua. He was a good friend.
He then looked at Kurapika and Leorio. Unlike Gon, they couldn't ignore Silva and rush to Killua. Silva's presence alone made them feel threatened. The pressure intensified with their fear.
"Finally met the master," Loki said, breaking Kurapika and Leorio out of their fear. They felt relieved. Loki's aura shielded them from Silva's pressure.
'So this is Netero's disciple!' Silva's gaze shifted to Loki. They sized each other up.
"Mr. Loki, is it?" Silva spoke first, his calm tone exuding confidence. As the current head of the Zoldyck family, he was among the strongest in the Hunter world.
Loki felt Silva had seen through most of his secrets.
'His Ten is far beyond what a child should be capable of.' Silva thought, outwardly calm but inwardly surprised. Loki was Killua's age, yet stronger. His carefully trained son had been surpassed by a peer. While it was unlikely there was another child Killua's age who could match him, this gap was still astonishing. Even Silva, who'd seen many talented individuals, was impressed. Loki's naturally refined Ten was far beyond what most Nen users could achieve. People emit aura before awakening Nen, but it's different after awakening. You can tell if someone's a Nen user at a glance. Loki's aura was hard to distinguish. This was the difference between Loki and other Nen users. You could see a lot from his Ten.
Killua noticed Loki. He was surprised. "Loki? You're here too!"
"No, I was coming here to see someone and ran into Gon and the others."
Killua thought Loki had come for him. If so, they could become closer friends like him and Gon. But Loki's words changed his mind.
Killua was puzzled. "You're here to see someone? Who?"
"Your grandfather, Zeno."
"Grandpa??" Killua was stunned. "Why?"
"It's a mission from Chairman Netero. I have to find someone in the Zoldyck family." Loki omitted the "defeat" part.
"Killua, your friend's purpose is significant," Silva said, not wanting to hide it. He drew everyone's attention. "He's challenging your grandfather."
Killua was angry. He wouldn't let anyone look down on the Zoldycks. Loki was challenging them. Gon and the others were surprised. They knew how strong the Zoldycks were. Many challenged them, but most couldn't even pass the Testing Gates, let alone the butlers. If the butlers were so strong, how powerful were the masters?
"Loki, is Dad right? You're challenging the Zoldycks?" Killua asked coldly, glancing at Silva. Loki nodded. "Yes."
"Hmph! To challenge the Zoldycks, you must defeat me first!"
Silva smiled, seeing Killua's initiative. "Good. He's my son." Killua seemed embarrassed.
Loki looked at Silva, ignoring Killua. Silva smiled. "Since you want to see my father, prove yourself. After Killua, it's my turn. I want to see what's special about the person the Hunter Association Chairman chose."
"Father, I can handle this myself."
"Killua, don't underestimate your opponent. He's stronger than you are now," Silva said, making Killua's face darken. "I'll prove it."
Loki looked at Killua and Silva, thinking the reward was insufficient. He wasn't worried about Killua, but Silva and Zeno were formidable opponents. The reward of one A-rank lottery seemed unreasonable.
Before Loki could understand the system's criteria, they reached the Zoldyck training grounds.
The Zoldyck training grounds were in an underground space as large as a stadium. The financial and material resources required were immense. Only the Zoldycks could afford such extravagance.
"Killua, Loki isn't here to kill your grandfather. Don't kill him," Silva said, hinting at the relationship between Netero and Zeno. This reduced Killua's hostility. He might have thought Loki was using the Zoldycks for fame.
"I understand, Father."
Killua took off his jacket and stood in the center. Loki stood opposite him.
Killua was determined, and Loki didn't refuse. He wasn't worried about Killua, even a Nen-awakened Killua. His goal was to complete the mission. He'd fight Killua as a warm-up for Silva.
'The reward is only one A-rank lottery!' Loki thought, heading to the training grounds with Silva. This seemed unreasonable. Defeating two top Nen users for one A-rank lottery?
They arrived at the Zoldyck training grounds—a vast underground space.
"Killua, though Loki is challenging the Zoldycks, he's not here to kill your grandfather. Don't kill him," Silva reminded Killua.
"I understand, Father."
Killua took off his jacket and stood in the center. Loki stood opposite him.
