Leaving the infirmary, Loki went straight to the competition registration window.
"I'd like to register for a match," he stated.
The registration clerk looked at him. "Mr. Loki, shouldn't you rest for a while?"
"No need. Schedule me a match as soon as possible," Loki replied firmly.
While registering, he glanced at Gon and Killua, who were secretly watching him from a corner. These were the other two members of the New Hunter Hunter trio—Gidō and Sadaso. After watching Loki's match against Riehlvelt, they were afraid to provoke him. Seeing Loki's gaze, they quickly left.
Loki coldly snorted as their auras disappeared. One reason he'd used the Mera Mera no Mi against Riehlvelt was to deter such nuisances. Getting ten wins against weak opponents would complete the mission, but Loki felt it wouldn't trigger a double reward.
He remembered getting his Hunter license from Netero after the Hunter Exam; the system had given a double reward. This suggested hidden missions that, if completed, would double the rewards. Therefore, defeating stronger opponents increased the likelihood of a double reward.
He also considered the Gon and Killua mission. If Gon and Killua learned more or became stronger than in the original story, would it trigger a double reward? It was worth a try.
"Amazing! Loki KO'd Hill with one punch!"
In the crowded arena, Loki stood on the ring, retracting his fist. He yawned, looking at the defeated opponent. The referee raised Loki's hand. "Loki wins!"
This was his second match this month. His opponent was stronger than Riehlvelt, but Loki realized he hadn't grasped his own strength. He was a top-tier Nen user in this world. His opponent was strong, but Loki didn't even need to use his abilities; he just focused Nen into his fist and KO'd him with his speed.
Before fighting Silva and Zeno, Loki didn't feel strong. But after defeating three Nen users in the Heaven Arena, he realized defeating them was like crushing ants. There was no challenge. He'd quickly get ten wins. There were no worthy opponents. He wondered if the floor master would be stronger.
Back in his room, Gon and Killua were waiting. Gon was fully recovered after a month. Killua hadn't trained; he waited for Gon.
Gon smiled. "Congratulations, Loki! You won again!"
Loki waved his hand. "Nothing to congratulate. The opponent was too weak."
Gon looked embarrassed. The opponent was strong; they'd watched the match. They needed more training to reach that level. Loki KO'd him with one punch.
"Let's continue training. You need to improve your Nen quickly. Focus on Ren, extending its duration and maintaining its form."
They nodded, Nen erupting.
Guiding them, Loki reviewed the basics, improving slightly himself. Gon and Killua improved rapidly. Their Ren duration increased, and their form improved. They were close to mastering Nen's basics. After a month, they nearly reached Loki's standard.
Loki decided to teach them new techniques.
"You've almost mastered the four principles," Loki said.
Gon scratched his head. "Didn't we already learn them?"
"Learned and mastered are different," Loki said, raising his hand. "Take Zetsu. Watch my Zetsu."
Loki concealed his aura. Gon and Killua were surprised. They couldn't sense him, even though they saw him. It felt like an illusion.
"Even the basics require training. My Zetsu isn't perfect."
They compared their Zetsu to Loki's. Theirs blocked their aura, but a little aura still leaked. This subtle difference required more training.
"Good. You've mastered the four principles. Now, try focusing Nen in your eyes. This is Gō."
Gō allows one to see hidden aura. In the original story, Wing taught this to Gon and Killua to understand Hisoka's fighting style. Loki taught it now. It wasn't difficult; they quickly understood.
Loki then taught them Ken, an advanced application of Ten and Ren, strengthening defense and offense. He explained its activation: combining Ten and Ren, releasing aura far beyond normal, yet maintaining it. It was useful in combat, especially for Gon and Killua.
"Your goal is to maintain Ken for half an hour. Aim for ten minutes first. If you do it in three days, I'll teach you more."
Motivated, Gon and Killua trained intensely. In three days, they exceeded ten minutes. Loki was surprised. Based on their progress, it should have taken a week. They'd improved rapidly.
"We did it, Loki!" Gon exclaimed, excited. Killua wiped his sweat; he was tired but happy.
"Good! I'll teach you another technique. First, watch this video."
Loki played a video of Hisoka's match against Bodoro. Hisoka toyed with his opponent, as in the original story.
Loki asked, "Thoughts?"
"Hisoka is strong, but I don't understand how he gets his cards. How can they come from his wounds…?" Gon said, puzzled.
Killua was also puzzled. Loki sighed.
"Didn't I teach you Gō? Why didn't you use it?"
They were stunned.
"We forgot!"
"We didn't think of it!"
Loki replayed the video; it was recorded by a Nen user, showing Hisoka's Nen use.
"Watch again!"
After watching again, they understood. They were still puzzled by Hisoka's ability, but that wasn't the point.
"Turning cards into weapons is the next technique I'll teach you!"
