Chapter 6 - I Have Decided to Divorce

Soon after, Shang Jue walked out quickly and went straight into the study, with Li Te following behind.

"Mr. Shang, Madam Qin… she signed with a really notorious media company. That company has no real standing in the industry and is basically avoided by everyone," Li Te reported.

How could she choose such a low-level agency?

Shang Jue's eyebrows tightened even more.

"Let's go."

His tone was cold as he stood up.

Li Te immediately understood Mr. Shang's meaning and followed quickly. He had already tracked down where Madam Qin was working.

A front yard just outside the city.

Qin Cha, dressed like a fairy, wore a long fringed gown.

The breeze softly blew through her hair, and the colorful flowers surrounding her made the scene look like a painting.

"Lighting ready. Action!"

At the director's cue, Qin Cha smiled with confidence and started performing in front of the camera. Every move she made was full of charm.

Everyone watching nearby was completely drawn in, quietly gasping in admiration.

"Cut! Perfect!"

Qin Cha personally checked the equipment and focused on every frame.

"Let's do this again. The flower sea is too loose. Send someone to buy more purple flowers to perfect the scene," she said.

The director had never seen an actor be so strict with him before. He had been shooting carelessly, but since she spoke up, he had nothing to say.

He casually ordered a few people, "You, you, and you—you heard her. Go do it!"

Li, the assistant, walked over to Qin Cha with a respectful expression. "Madam, Mr. Shang has something to discuss with you."

Interrupted, Qin Cha raised her head with a cold and indifferent look. "Please call me Miss Qin."

Li, the assistant, was caught in the middle of calling one person "Miss" and the other "Madam."

Being a personal assistant wasn't an easy job these days.

Qin Cha brushed off the flower petals stuck to her clothes and said casually, "I am currently working. If Mr. Shang has something to discuss, please make an appointment with my assistant."

She turned to her assistant, Xiao Mei, and said, "When do I have some free time? Please communicate with Li, the assistant, about the schedule."

Xiao Mei immediately checked the schedule and smiled, "Miss Qin has half an hour of free time on December 10th at 6 a.m. Would you like to make an appointment?"

Li, the assistant, was speechless. It was still four months away from December 10th.

If he really made an appointment for that day, Mr. Shang might not even need him to come tomorrow.

Li, the assistant, had no choice but to say, "Mr. Shang is waiting for you over there. He has something important to discuss with you. Could you spare a little time to talk to him?"

Qin Cha didn't think there was anything to talk about with her ex-husband, Shang Jue.

However, since they had not yet finalized their divorce, she agreed to prevent any unexpected problems from arising on Shang Jue's side.

She glanced at the time and nodded.

Li, the assistant, breathed a sigh of relief.

Qin Cha walked over to Shang Jue alone, looking stunning and radiant. "Mr. Shang, isn't it impolite to come uninvited?"

She crossed her arms and looked down at her watch, her attitude not at all polite.

Her time was precious. "I only have five minutes, so please speak quickly," she said.

Seeing her business-like demeanor, Shang Jue's expression turned sour, and his tone brooked no argument.

"Qin Cha, stop playing games."

Games?

Qin Cha's eyes showed a hint of scorn.

She was terrifyingly calm as she spoke each word coldly, "Mr. Shang, that's a funny thing to say. When have I ever played games? Although I've made some mistakes in the past three years, I've never regretted any of my decisions. I've decided to leave this marriage."

The situation was beyond Shang Jue's expectations. He didn't expect Qin Cha to be so resolute.

But he didn't believe that Qin Cha would leave him over such a small matter. He just needed to put in a little more effort to coax her back.

Thinking this, Shang Jue's expression softened slightly. "Qin Cha, what can I do to get you to come back?"

Qin Cha found it laughable. Her eyes were filled with disdain and disgust.

"Come back? Be a pet without dignity? Mr. Shang seems to have plenty of objects to play with. Didn't you bring one back just the other day?"

Li, the assistant, who had been quietly standing by, was shocked to see his wife so sharp-tongued for the first time.

She seemed different in some way.

Seeing the once-gentle Qin Cha now snarling and baring her teeth, Shang Jue's brow furrowed slightly.

His face darkened as he warned her in a domineering tone, "You can divorce me if you want, but you haven't received the divorce certificate yet. You can't do anything that would embarrass the Shang family."

The embarrassing thing Shang Jue referred to was the advertisement Qin Cha was currently filming.

The wealthy despised actors in the entertainment industry and naturally felt that such work was beneath them.

Or rather, when did he ever think she was good enough for the public eye?

In the past few years, he had never mentioned his wife to anyone.

Qin Cha's anger flared up, but she didn't want to keep arguing with Shang Jue. She wasn't sure if she was getting sick, but her stomach started to feel uncomfortable.

She thought to herself, "Nothing good ever happens when I'm around him."

Qin Cha instinctively held her stomach, her eyebrows tightly furrowed in pain.

Shang Jue noticed her pale face and tense posture, and his eyes turned cold. He asked in a low voice, "Is it true that the child is gone?"

His gaze was sharp, as if he was trying to see straight through her.

When Qin Cha heard that, she was stunned. She had no idea what Shang Jue had found out.

She forced herself to stay calm and raised her eyes to sneer, "How the child was lost, Mr. Shang saw it with his own eyes. You should know very well. Why are you bringing it up again?"

The pain in her stomach was getting worse, and cold sweat started to drip from her forehead.

She couldn't stay there any longer. Without waiting for Shang Jue's response, Qin Cha turned and quickly walked away.

At that moment, Qin Mo, who had come to visit, noticed his sister's painful expression.

Qin Cha stumbled into her second brother's arms as if she had lost all her strength.

But she didn't relax even for a second, because Shang Jue was standing right behind her.

That man was way too sharp. If she stayed any longer, he would definitely figure things out.

"Second brother, take me away. Quickly," she whispered.

Qin Mo's face darkened. He gave Shang Jue a deadly glare, full of anger for the man who had hurt his sister, and immediately helped Qin Cha leave.

However, in Shang Jue and Li the assistant's eyes, the scene looked very different.

Li looked uneasy and nervous.

Mr. Shang and his wife hadn't officially divorced yet, and now she was throwing herself into another man's arms right in front of him.

Mr. Shang was definitely going to blow up.

"Find out who that man is next to Qin Cha," Shang Jue said, his voice ice cold. His hand was clenched so tightly his veins were bulging.

He watched as Qin Mo carried Qin Cha into a car, then turned around and left with a cold expression. Li quickly followed behind.

On the other side, Qin Mo brought his sister to a private hospital for a full check-up.

The doctor looked serious and warned in a low voice, "Miss Qin, your body has been injured and the fetus is barely hanging on. You can't go through any more stress. You have to take proper care of yourself."

Qin Cha looked down and gently stroked her belly, where the tiny life was still growing.

When she first found out she was pregnant, she had been really happy.

But now, she just felt heartbroken.

"Sis, are you sure you want to keep this child?" Qin Mo asked carefully. He didn't want his sister to go through any more pain, especially not for that jerk Shang Jue.

She had already suffered enough, and in his eyes, keeping the baby wasn't the most important thing.

Qin Cha understood what her brother meant, but the baby was innocent. It wasn't just Shang Jue's child, it was hers too.

If she had the ability to give the child a peaceful life, then she would definitely give birth to it.

As for Shang Jue, once she got the divorce certificate at the end of the month, he would never even know the baby existed.

He didn't deserve to know!

"I'll give birth to this child, but I will never let anyone in the Shang family find out," Qin Cha said firmly.
