Joel checked the bodies of the men, but found nothing but a key and a token. This should be the key to his vault, Joel thought as he lifted the howlers with the wind.
Hey Bren, I'm here to trade this batch of howlers, he said as he entered their shop.
This much again, since you began supplying us with beast hides, we have always had enough. How can I thank you, Bren said with a smile.
There's no need for that, Joel said, waving it off.
Bren counted 20 gold coins and handed them to Joel.
Thank you, Joel said as he left the shop.
Oh, before I forget, Joel said as he entered the shop again. Do you know the main base of the Gale Fang gang? He asked.
Yes, everyone in this district knows there, he replied.
He gave the direction to Joel, and he left for there.
He soon reached the heavily guarded mansion, with over 50 men patrolling there. There were at least 5 people in the foundation realm.
Joel calmly walked to the centre and released his refinement realm aura, attracting the attention of all the people there.
Joel calmly raised the token he took from Gale high enough for everyone to see.
When they saw it, none of them argued with Joel and knelt in apprehension of their new master.
Seeing this, Joel nodded and asked them to rise.
Then, he was led into the main building by a foundation realm expert who was not in the previous patrolling team.
Good afternoon, sir, the man said as he approached Joel. My name is Edric, your butler, the man said with a bow to Joel.
Joel nodded to him before the man began moving with Joel towards a large building that stood alone at the centre of the base.
Then, as they approached the building, Joel was finally able to see it fully.
They soon reached the humongous door, guarded by 3 foundation realm experts.
As they entered, Joel was asking about the state of the gang, as well as other things he needed to know.
Edric, take me to the gang's vault, he said to Edric as they were touring around the building.
Yes sir.
They soon reached a dead end, as only a wall was in their path.
Edric moved closer and made a series of hand signs, then a small opening was formed, large enough to fit a key.
Master Joel, the key to the vault was with the former master, Edric said.
Step aside, Joel said as he took out a key from his pocket.
With slight force, the key was inserted into the keyhole.
The wall shook slightly and then began to slide open.
So much gold, Joel thought. Even Edric was surprised by the amount of treasures in the vault.
Create a team of trustworthy people to help sort all of these out, Joel said.
Then, since I am the new leader of this place, it shall no longer be Gale Fang, but Twilight Court, Joel said with a smile.
