Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: “Midnight Train to Us”

Chapter 56: "Midnight Train to Us"

Romantic ride, stolen glances, secret love… and a sleeper berth of burning blushes.

---

Scene: The Village Express – Night Train to the Hills

After a whirlwind of wedding prep, shopping sprees, and saree mishaps, the family boarded the late-night train from the city station. Sleeper class. A full row of reserved berths. Cousins fighting over window seats. Dadi bribing the chaiwala. Mummy distributing tiffin dabbas like it was a survival mission.

But Boby?

He had luck, fate, or some divine romantic script on his side.

> Their berth chart:

Lower: Raviel

Middle: Empty

Upper: Boby

Or at least, that's what should have happened. But just before departure—

> Dadi (grinning, loudly):

"I'm old! I need bottom berth. Raviel beta, climb up. Boby, take care of her."

Everyone nodded. No one noticed Dadi's wink.

---

Scene: Berth 14B – Lights Out, Hearts On

The train rocked gently as stars blinked above the open windows. The soft whistle of the engine hummed in the background.

Up on the upper berth, hidden by the curtain, Raviel and Boby lay side-by-side.

> Raviel (narrowing eyes):

"You planned this."

> Boby (mock-innocent):

"It's destiny. Or maybe Dadi's matchmaking."

Their knees touched. Then thighs. Then elbows. The space was too small for lies. Or distance.

> Raviel (smiling, whispering):

"Your heart is racing."

> Boby:

"So is yours."

The dim amber night-light spilled softly into their curtain nook. Raviel's hair spread over Boby's arm. His hand, tentative at first, brushed her fingers. She didn't pull away.

> Boby (softly):

"I can't stop looking at you."

> Raviel:

"Then stop looking. And start doing."

He blinked.

She leaned in.

Their lips met—soft, electric, like lightning wrapped in honey. The train hummed. The wheels clacked a rhythm as their kiss deepened.

---

Scene: A Symphony of Silences

There was no rush. No chaos. Just quiet, slow-burning affection.

> Boby kissed her cheeks. Her forehead. Her nose. Raviel ran her fingers through his hair, tracing the scar near his temple he always hid. They whispered secrets. Told tiny truths. She giggled when he called her beautiful. He melted when she called him "author-boy" again, this time with trembling lips.

Then she pulled his hand to her heart.

> Raviel (eyes glistening):

"Do you feel this? It beats for you. Only you."

> Boby (voice cracking):

"And mine beats because you made it."

He kissed her again, this time longer. His fingers trailing down the curve of her back, her breath catching. Their legs tangled in the narrow berth, their hearts wrapped around each other.

---

Scene: Almost Caught!

Suddenly—

> Outside the curtain: Mummy's voice: "Where is Boby? Is he on his berth or flying in the AC coach?"

Boby froze.

> Raviel (giggling into his chest):

"You're about to be a ghost."

> Boby (whispering):

"I'll haunt you lovingly."

He kissed her quickly again—twice—and then slid down, reappearing from the berth like nothing happened, adjusting his kurta with a grin.

> Mummy (narrow-eyed):

"You were glowing again."

> Boby (stretching):

"Good dreams, Mummy."

Back inside, Raviel lay in the soft moonlight, touching her lips, whispering:

> "What are you doing to me, Boby... I was supposed to rule galaxies. Not fall for a human boy on a train."

---

Scene: Morning After – Station Arrival

As the train pulled into the mountain station, Raviel walked beside Boby, her saree slightly rumpled, cheeks glowing.

> Dadi (not even hiding the smirk):

"Sleep well, Raviel beta?"

> Raviel (blushing, nodding):

"Dreams were… very alive."

> Dadi:

"Next time I book AC coach. Less noise. More privacy."

---

Final Scene: Omniverse Parallel

Meanwhile, in the fictional dimension of Omniversalis, Fictional Boby sneezed violently while sipping cosmic tea.

> Black Goku: "You okay, man?"

> Fictional Boby (rubbing nose):

"Someone's kissing my girl… wait—MY girl IS kissing MYSELF?!"
