History isn't just a record of the past — it's a lens through which we understand how the world became what it is today. How, in these so-called "modern times," humans walk among others gifted with supernatural abilities. How, lurking in the shadows of civilization, emerged a terrifying new species once believed to be myth — the Zunans. Creatures that challenged the very notion of human supremacy on Earth, was Humanity really at the top of the food chain?
It all began around five centuries ago, in the year 1474 to be exact . Humanity was still finding its footing — building cities, mastering the elements, waging wars for land and legacy. But then they arrived. No warnings. No signs. Just... appeared — as if conjured from thin air.
The Zunans.
Towering humanoid beasts with inhuman strength, speed, and senses, literally beasts humans could only imagine were now in reality. What made them truly horrifying, though, was their hunger — not for land, or resources, or conquest — but for human hearts. Nothing else. Just that singular, grotesque craving.
Within three short years, the human population was estimated to have been reduced to less than 20% of its former size. Entire civilizations fell. Some Languages vanished. Survival became humanity's top priority. Extinction loomed like a dark sun on the horizon.
Then, like judgement day, fire came.
Without warning, every Zunan across the world burst into bright golden flames. Not ordinary fire — this was something otherworldly. It burned through flesh like divine judgment, refused to be extinguished by water or wind, and left behind not ash but as if removed from existence.
And then he appeared.
From the inferno emerged a being cloaked in living flame, his shape barely distinguishable from the fire itself — a man, or perhaps something more. The survivors called him The Flaming Angel. Whether he was divine, alien, or something else entirely, no one could say. But he had saved humanity when all hope had been lost.
And he brought with him a message.
A hidden island existed, its location sealed under international secrecy. On this island flowed what he called Divine Water — a miraculous substance capable of unlocking superhuman abilities in those who drank it. Carefully selected soldiers from every corner of the globe were sent to the island. They drank. They changed. After this the flaming angel disappeared just like he appeared. I guess we will never know why he helped humanity.
And just like that, humanity had its first line of defense: the Zunan Fighters.
Empowered and united, these superhuman warriors became both the military of their nations and the guardians of the world. They were trained to fight back the Zunans, who, despite the Flaming Angel's initial purge, continued to appear from nowhere — a cruel, unsolved mystery. But this time, humanity wasn't helpless.
Now, centuries later, Earth has rebuilt. Cities stand tall again. Culture and science have returned. But the war never truly ended. Zunans still manifest without reason or warning. The Zunan Fighters still patrol every region. And people still whisper the same question from long ago:
Will the Zunans ever truly vanish, a time were they will seize to pop up uninvited?
And if they do... what kind of world will rise in their absence?
Perhaps, the answers are closer than anyone dares to believe.
