"Hey, Mom." Bethany said, as soon as her mom picked.
"Sweetie." Jen cooed from the other side. "What's up? Are you coming home soon? Your dad is quite worried." Jen said, but Beth could tell she was the one worried, seeing as her voice was laced with concern.
"I'm okay, Mom. Everything's good." Beth tried to pacify her.
"Alright, love. So you are on your way?" Jen asked again.
"Uhh, about that." Beth said, clearing her throat lightly. "I wouldn't be coming in tonight."
"Why?" Jen asked, abit of panic in her voice.
"'Cause it's late and I'm not sure I want to be on the road by this time." Beth tried to explain, her heart pounding fiercely against her ribcage. Asides working out early in the mornings against her mother's wishes, she hasn't really rebelled before.
"Bunny, are you sure about this?" Her dad asked this time, concern laced his voice as well, but it was steady.
