Chapter 13 - Stop! That’s a Shiny Nidoran!!!

Looking at the barrage of comments, Lovy felt a bit helpless. He couldn't help but miss those early little fans from his very first livestream.

If they were here now, they'd definitely be cheering him on, and he wouldn't be underestimated like this by a bunch of random viewers.

"Sigh... I originally wanted to interact with you all as just a regular streamer. But since none of you believe in me, I guess I have no choice but to stop pretending and reveal the truth!"

While waiting, Lovy interacted with the viewers in his stream.

[LOL, just don't get slapped in the face later!]

[You better be cooking something big—not dropping a big pile of crap!]

Most of the remaining viewers were clearly just sticking around to see Lovy embarrass himself.

Meanwhile, the stream's popularity was gradually declining—not everyone has that kind of patience.

Lovy shrugged. This was beyond his control. The other side hadn't even revealed their Pokémon yet, so he had no way of showing off his own strength.

[User "Moon Serenity" has entered your livestream!]

When he saw this username, Lovy perked up—it was someone he knew.

Moon Serenity was Hu Yue's online alias!

"Why is she here?"

Lovy mumbled to himself, but didn't think much of it.

Probably just the platform recommending his stream to her.

After all, he hadn't posted about this new account on his social media or anywhere else.

[User "Moon Serenity" has gifted you a "Poké Ball"!]

[User "Moon Serenity" has gifted you a "Super Potion"!]

Seeing Hu Yue send him gifts, Lovy quickly thanked her:

"Thanks for the gifts, Moon Serenity!"

At the same time, Hu Yue, who was watching Lovy's stream, sighed softly:

"Getting a new channel off the ground is getting harder and harder. A newbie male streamer with no team—really tough! But identifying Pokémon? Since when could Lovy do that?"

She had stumbled upon Lovy's stream by chance. After recognizing him, she decided to support him with some gifts.

That's when she noticed—the theme of this stream was Pokémon appraisal?

She had been about to leave, but now curiosity held her back. She wanted to see what was going on.

Chapter 14: Stop! That's Not a Nidoran♀—It's a Shiny Nidoran♂!

Pokémon livestreaming was hot right now.

But most streams just featured basic Pokémon interactions, store visits, good looks, casual chatting, or dancing.

Stuff like Pokémon appraisal or Pokémon battles, though? That required serious skill.

Appraising Pokémon demanded real knowledge and expertise. Which random kid could just eyeball a Pokémon through a screen and give an accurate evaluation?

If she remembered correctly, Lovy started livestreaming right after graduating high school.

And battles? Those required powerful Pokémon—usually only pro trainers attracted real attention.

Or people would just "borrow hype" by streaming matches from pro trainers, gym battles, or tournaments.

[Whoa, Moon Serenity's a beauty!]

[A PokéGirl streamer with over 100K followers? Why's she gifting this guy? Wild!]

The viewers who saw Hu Yue sending gifts clicked into her profile and immediately understood the situation.

Meanwhile, "Nidoran♀ is My Waifu" came back with a friend.

The two of them stepped into the frame. The friend was tall and skinny with a monkey-like face—another high schooler by the look of it.

"This is the streamer you hired? He doesn't even have followers. Can you really trust him?"

The tall kid didn't hold back, saying it straight into the camera.

[LOL, this streamer really has no clout.]

[Even high schoolers are roasting him. Brutal.]

Seeing the comments, Hu Yue felt a bit indignant for Lovy. Some netizens really went too far.

Do small-time streamers not deserve any dignity?

"We already agreed, let's give it a try," said the chubby one, biting his lip. "Besides, it's free."

That line was like an arrow stabbing Lovy in the chest.

[Independent streamer!]

[If I were him, I'd rage quit already!]

Lovy laughed in frustration and shot back:

"Oi! You two brats, don't treat people like garbage! I'm doing free appraisals, and you still talk like that? Give me a break with the arrogant attitude!"

The skinny kid just smirked and said smugly, "Small-time streamer. Laughable! No followers, doing free appraisals. Big attitude, little talent!"

"You sure have a mouth on you. What, you studying for rap battles now?"

Hearing that freestyle roast, Lovy couldn't take it anymore. "Cut the crap, bring out the Pokémon! I'll show you what a real pro streamer looks like!"

The chubby one tugged the skinny kid's sleeve, trying to signal him to tone it down.

They quickly moved the camera into another room, where a beautifully groomed Nidoran♀ rested calmly in a breeding box.

[That Nidoran♀ is gorgeous.]

[No wonder they're picky about mates!]

[If the breeding works out, I want dibs on an egg!]

[So docile—maybe the Nidoran♂ they paired her with is just ugly?]

Comments flew across the screen as Lovy observed the Nidoran♀. His appraisal skill kicked in.

[Poison Pin Pokémon: Nidoran♂]Level: 18Type: PoisonGender: MaleBase Stats: C-rank (273)IV: B-rank (150)Ability: RivalryNature: AdamantMoves: Leer, Poison Sting, Peck, Fury AttackStatus: ContentEvolution: Nidorino → NidokingSpecial Trait: Shiny

The moment this info popped up, Lovy's expression froze, confused.

What the heck—this beautiful Pokémon, which clearly looked like a Nidoran♀, was actually a Nidoran♂?

They're technically the same species, but the gender difference makes their appearance and behavior drastically different—usually obvious at a glance!

Lovy rubbed his eyes, wondering if he'd misread something.

Or maybe the panel was bugged?

But after double-checking everything multiple times, he was sure: this was a male Nidoran♂ that just happened to look exactly like a Nidoran♀.

The reason? It was a shiny Pokémon!

Shinies usually just had color differences, but some could have slightly altered appearances too.

This Nidoran♂ was without a doubt male, but its shiny form made it look so much like a Nidoran♀ that people had been treating it like one.

Which meant they'd been trying to breed it with a male Nidoran♂. A total dude-on-dude situation!

No wonder it had been resisting and even attacking—the poor thing was just misunderstood.

Its Rivalry ability didn't help either.

Rivalry gets triggered when there's another Pokémon of the same gender nearby, increasing aggression and boosting move power.

So when this shiny Nidoran♂ was kept with another male—it was fight time, no questions asked.

"Damn... this one's so pretty, but turns out it's a shiny male. It's like those super-pretty femboys in our world."

Lovy couldn't help but make the comparison.

From a certain perspective, this Nidoran♂ was a true rarity—maybe even one-of-a-kind.

Collectors or researchers might pay top dollar for it.

If it could successfully breed and pass down this shiny trait... it could change the whole game.

If this appearance became common, we'd no longer be able to tell male from female Nidorans at a glance.

How could you tell if I'm male or female anymore?

Still, Lovy figured the shiny trait probably had low heredity—otherwise, shiny Pokémon wouldn't be so rare.

[Why is the streamer frozen?]

[Not a static image, folks—he's just stunned!]

[Did Lovy crash mid-appraisal or something?]
