Chapter 72 - III:Scarlet Order

The bronze tapestries in Kane's chambers were woven with human hair. When Alyssa wiped the third thorn relief, she found uncorrupted eyeballs embedded in the hair—those pupils were frozen with the terror before being devoured by the code, exactly the same as the sealed eyes on the stone seal of the Bloodthorn Code.

"Slaves should not look directly at the king's power." Cain's black iron boots crushed the wax at her feet. Alyssa lowered her head and stared at the black mist rolling at the corner of the lord's robe. There were tiny thorns swimming there, which resonated subtly with the silver ring she pierced into his heart last night. The blood contract totem was hot in her palm, reminding her of the countdown of the contract.

Moonlight leaked in from the iron window, cutting shadows like broken ribs on the stone slab that sealed the code. When Elisa's linen sleeve swept across the edge of the stone box, the hidden hemlock powder fell down - these carefully prepared corrosive agents should have melted the bloodthorn seal, but at this moment they were strangely absorbed by the stone slab, etching the surface with the finger marks of her mother scratching the bedpost before her death.

"The Codex likes your taste." Cain suddenly pulled her braid, forcing her to look up at the Sealed Eye. The stone-carved pupil oozed black blood, which slid down the bridge of Alyssa's nose into the corner of her mouth - the fishy sweetness of the silver wolf fetus' blood mixed with the corrupted moonlight. Her eclipse flame churned in her stomach, but was suppressed by the new slave mark under her collarbone.

The sound of the clappers in the middle of the night saved her acting. When Kane turned to check the suddenly trembling tapestry on the Wailing Wall, Alyssa dug her nails into the cracks of the stone box. The blood covenant totem slithered on the surface of the seal, like a poisonous snake smelling rotten meat. The code suddenly made a sound like a baby sucking, and translucent thorns stretched out from the cracks in the stone slabs, piercing her fingertips and starting to sip.

The memory fragments exploded in the pain. She saw the Silver Wolf priest three hundred years ago using a bone knife to cut out the heart and pour the gushing blood on the cover of the code. The words condensed by the blood were reorganized in front of her: **Forbidden Blood Feeding Technique·Seventh Level——Parasitic Crown Cultivation Method**.

"Wipe it clean." Cain threw the flannel stained with brains. Alyssa knelt in front of the codex and wiped her saliva on the cracks of the stone - the saliva mixed with poison hemlock juice could temporarily put the blood thorns to sleep. When the sealed eye was half closed due to paralysis, she saw that the silver wolf rune on the inner page of the codex was resonating with the slave brand on her back.

Lucian's cold jade light suddenly illuminated the window. Alyssa quickly overturned the copper candlestick, and the mermaid wax ignited a green flame on the stone surface. In the firelight, the projection of the code on the wall showed an execution picture - the silver wolf queen was pierced by thorns, and her face gradually distorted into her outline.

"My good brother actually let you touch the code?" Lucien's claws scraped against the door frame, and the hem of his new scarlet cloak was stained with suspicious blue blood. Cain's scepter slammed the ground, and the human face reliefs on the Wailing Wall tapestry wept blood at the same time, forcing the young lord back out of the moonlight: "Go back to your rat hole."

In the gap between the brothers' confrontation, Elisa reached for the bottom of the stone box. Under the decayed wax layer was half a bronze mirror, and the thorn pattern on the back of the mirror perfectly matched the silver ring left by her mother. As she pretended to sort out the velvet, the mirror brushed against the side of the seal of the code - there was a tiny warning written in fetal blood: **Twins do not touch**.

The sound of the midnight bell caused the ground to tremble. Cain suddenly grabbed her by the back of the neck and pressed the slave brand against the seal of the code. Alyssa's eclipse flame burst out uncontrollably, and the blue flame licked the blood thorns on the surface of the stone box. The seal eye opened to the limit in the burning, and the carvings on the bedposts of Cain's bedroom emerged in the depths of the pupils - the core array of the Weeping Wall array.

"It's you." The lord's voice was filled with strange excitement. Alyssa's flames illuminated his torn clothes. The thorn heart on the wound on his left chest was growing rapidly, and eroded black flowers bloomed on the tip. The code suddenly opened by itself, and the parchment pages moved without wind, stopping at page 73 - Alyssa's baby footprints appeared in the blank space, and Kane's bloody fingerprints were next to it.

Lucien's wild laughter penetrated the stone wall: "The show is about to begin!" Alyssa's hemlock powder finally took effect, and blue blood oozed out of the cracks in the stone box. When she took the opportunity to pull out the bronze mirror, she found that the content of the code reflected in the mirror was completely different: every line of silver wolf runes was wriggling, forming her and Cain's marriage contract entangled in thorns.

Kane's scepter smashed the bronze mirror, but the fragments floated in the air and formed the shape of the crown of the first Silver Wolf King. Alyssa's Eclipse Flame suddenly turned and melted the suspended fragments into the shape of a key - the key that could open the eye of the Wailing Wall.

"Slaves should learn to obey." Cain tore off the hemp rope collar around her neck and replaced it with a silver chain inlaid with a fragment of the code. When the metal touched Alyssa's bleeding slave brand, a loud sound of the chain breaking came from deep in the stone box. Her tattoo suddenly grew longer, and the thorn pattern crawled along the silver chain to Cain's thorn heart, forming a thorny bridge between the two.

Lucian's cold emerald light disappeared into the depths of the secret passage. Alyssa's fingertips swept across the blank pages of the code, and the remaining blood stains suddenly appeared - it was her mother's handwriting: **Run away, the crown is devouring the twins**. When the moonlight shifted across the tapestry on the Wailing Wall, she saw that all the eyeballs between the hair turned to her, and the pupils reflected the illusion of Lucian wearing the spare crown on the underground altar.

The tip of Cain's scepter suddenly softened and turned into thorns that entangled her ankles. In the severe pain, Alyssa realized that the real purpose of this transfer order was not surveillance - the code needed her eclipse flame to activate a deeper curse. When the midnight bell rang again, a baby cried in the stone box, and the resonance deep in her blood shattered the third stained glass window.
