Sorry for the short chapter today

"That was wonderful!" I heard a keen laugh of delight. I watched from afar as she smiled brightly at her knight. He smiled back at her, "Well, Renuena, we could go to the plaza? The nightlife here is quite exhilarating in Bromithel…" "Alright then, to the plaza we go!" I keep my distance as they walk side by side. I catch the moments where their hands brush against each other, and how she doesn't pull away when he wraps an arm around her to point out and explain the nightlife around them. I viewed with a tight chest as he gifted her a flower crown, and how she smiled and looked away with flushed cheeks. I watched as her eyes widened in awe at the couple dancing around the fountain to the lull of the fiddle. My heart clenched for a bit when she smiled and looked up at him with warmth in her big blue eyes. I see the smile on her knight's face as she thanked him for the night. He nodded, "You're welcome, ne renuena." My jaw clenched at him calling her his moon. "Dammit," I growled as he gently took her hand, kissed her knuckles and led her into the slow dance that started to play. I studied the way she smiled up at him and the way he gently held her through the dance.
As I watch, I notice that I am still in love with her, even after not seeing her for ages. I also recall the hatred I saw in her flaming blue eyes when she saw me again at the gates of the city. Shit, she doesn't care for me. I took a deep breath before stepping out of the shadows, my heart clenching as he twirled Ruana around. I gently tapped her shoulder, her head whipping back, her eyes wide. Theodore bowed, along with the other pairs. She stood straight, her face returning to last night's stoic expression. The bright smile was gone once again. "Hello, Your Majesty… what brings you here?"
"This is my kingdom, is it not? Why should I not be here?"
"I am only curious why you are out here tonight."
"I could ask you the same thing, Princess. Did you not state that your expedition was only for a few hours? You were out the whole day. Not only that, you managed to escape and leave behind the guards that were keeping you safe." My voice started to rise, but I managed to keep a calm tone. "But, the reason I have come was to ask you for help. I understand that we aren't on good terms… especially after today's little incident-" "Incident? Oh, yes. The incident in your office, where I found you with another woman." "Who I am with is none of your business, just as whoever you choose to be near is none of mine. However, I understand that I put you in an awkward position, so I apologize, but I do need your help."
I toss her the vial that contains the seeds of various species of flowers. She caught it, inspected it before opening it, and wafted the odor. "These are yellow bonnets…" She said as she looked up, "You do understand that these are pretty harmful, and are more of a… weed than an actual flower, right?" I shook my head and sighed, "No. I was not aware of what species of flower the seeds were, but thank you for the information… I will leave you both to your… outing." I glared at Theodore as I spoke before turning and walking away. I will allow her this freedom before our wedding. But it won't happen again.
