Sieg finally submitted the map he had drawn.
"10 points?!"
Sieg was slightly surprised, since the map he had drawn was only of the outer areas of Petalburg Woods, which had already been submitted countless times before. It shouldn't have had much value.
"Is it because of that cave?"
The only thing that could be considered hidden was that Seviper's cave. If you didn't search carefully, it could indeed be considered a concealed place.
After submitting all the tasks, Sieg started looking through the exchange list and flipped to the section exclusive to the League's inner circle.
"The Carvanha training manual costs 200 points, same as Corphish. Gotta make money," Sieg said with a sigh.
The last thing Sieg had to do was deal with the Seviper he had. He put on his black cloak and, based on his memory from last time, entered the black market again.
He went to the vendor area and spent 1000 Pokédollars to rent a booth for an hour.
"Damn, the black market is really profitable. I should open a booth myself someday."
Sieg laid a simple cloth on the ground and placed the Poké Ball containing the Seviper on it. Thinking it looked a bit empty, he casually added a few Taillow Poké Balls too.
Then he spent another 100 Pokédollars to buy a wooden board and wrote on it:
"Seviper, level 27, knows Iron Tail, 400,000 Pokédollars."
Short and to the point.
The reason he listed it for the high price of 400,000 was to leave room for negotiation.
Sure enough, not long after, his stall caught the attention of several people who came over to offer bids.
"300,000, alright? After all, Seviper is naturally ferocious. It'll take some effort to tame it."
A person dressed in the same black cloak bargained.
After a bit of thought, Sieg nodded in agreement. It already met his expectations, so there was no need to fight over a little more profit.
Although the Seviper was sold, there were still about 20 to 30 minutes left on the booth rental.
Sieg decided to stick around. In the end, only one of the Taillows was sold, bringing in 90,000 Pokédollars.
The two leftover Taillows that no one wanted were sold to a shop as a bundle. After completing all his sales, Sieg quickly left the black market and returned to the Pokémon Center.
"Good evening, Nurse Joy."
After returning from the black market, Sieg greeted Nurse Joy Lin, who was still busy working.
After all, it was always good to build a good relationship with a Nurse Joy.
He then returned to his room, collapsed onto the bed, and quickly fell into a deep sleep. The day had truly exhausted him.
...
The next morning.
As usual, Sieg was eating the free and delicious food at the Pokémon Center cafeteria.
"So, if we keep the current pace, Carvanha should evolve in less than half a year. But if I don't lay a solid foundation before evolution, even if it becomes a Sharpedo, its potential might be wasted."
Sieg decided he had to keep earning League points. He couldn't slack off at all.
He returned to the mission machine, scanning through the tasks again. Most of them were extremely difficult.
"Tasks that reward League points either take a long time and are highly tedious or are incredibly hard. At my current level, I simply can't complete them."
Sieg frowned, deep in thought.
Would he be forced to explore the dangerous core zone of Petalburg Woods to draw maps?
No doubt about it. The reason this task existed was simply because the League wanted trainers to take the initiative to explore dangerous places.
In short, they were trading lives for data.
This was a calculated move, with the League offering highly enticing rewards.
"I guess I'll take this group task, assisting the police in clearing out the Wurmple swarm near the Petalburg Woods main road."
The reason Sieg hadn't taken this task earlier was that it had to be completed independently and couldn't be linked with other tasks.
Once you accept this mission, you can't take others at the same time.
"For League points."
Sieg finally brought his printed résumé and the mission confirmation to the police station.
"You're kidding, right? Even a kid is applying now? Is our police force really this short-staffed?"
A sexy-looking Officer Jenny said with exaggerated surprise.
Sieg pursed his lips, intentionally showing a shy expression, and said softly, "It's not that, Officer Jenny. I took the cleanup mission."
His voice sounded pure and innocent, evoking a sense of sympathy from others.
After drifting at sea, Sieg had learned to change his expressions and demeanor at will.
When dealing with different people, he could quickly adjust to match their preferences.
This time, Sieg chose to act like a shy and innocent teenager, hoping to catch Officer Jenny's attention.
"All for League points, nothing shameful about that."
Sieg handed over his résumé and mission confirmation with both hands, carefully placing them on Officer Jenny's desk.
Officer Jenny finally sat down, crossing her long legs and leaning back in her chair. Her white thighs and high heels exuded both elegance and confidence, very eye-catching.
Her long green hair flowed over her shoulders like a waterfall, brushing gently against her fair skin, emitting a light fragrance.
Her delicate makeup, paired with the police uniform, especially that tight skirt, perfectly showed off her alluring figure.
Sieg keenly noticed the golden medal pinned to her chest and thought to himself, "Looks like this Officer Jenny holds a high position."
Which made sense. Being part of the Jenny family, how could she possibly have started from the bottom?
On the surface, Sieg pretended to be nervous, which made Officer Jenny laugh.
"Your skills are not bad, but Water-types don't seem to offer much advantage."
Officer Jenny slowly shook her head, hinting at a rejection.
In the end, Sieg didn't mention his Fearow. Naturally, he didn't get the job and had to leave reluctantly.
"Sigh, Corphish and Carvanha are common Pokémon in the Hoenn sea areas, but Fearow is from Kanto and isn't often seen here," Sieg thought to himself.
Sieg always liked to keep a backup plan. This time was no different. Fearow was kept in reserve as his hidden trump card.
In the following days, Sieg stayed at the Pokémon Center, sparring with other trainers and making some Pokéblocks just in case.
"Whew, time to take another mission. Once I've earned enough coins, I'll immediately exchange them for the Carvanha training manual, then leave Petalburg."
Sieg took a deep breath, a flash of determination in his eyes.
After all, he still had to collect Gym Badges. Staying here any longer was pointless. His next destination: Rustboro City.
There was a company there called Devon Corporation, a famous business focused on Pokémon-related research, development, and production.
"Although I haven't heard anything about Steven yet," Sieg thought.
Apparently, they had just developed a new multifunctional PokéNav device.
Sieg planned to go there and see if any high-tech gear suited him.
"And there's a Gym there too, Rustboro Gym. Rock-type. Fits me perfectly."
Sieg scrolled through the League Pokédex info, his lips curving into a satisfied smile.
