After the trip ended, we went home, and we were awarded point we had extra point because we managed to take down a bast without any of our members being injured.
The trip home was because the mages that were set up to control the wivern were killed at the cliff witch they were keeping watch on us.
The murderer was still out there, and the teachers had to move the students out of the place quickly.
We got home safely any everyone was relieved that they made it out alive. Mr. Tadashi went to report to the head office about what happened at the trip site.
The rest of us went home and Saki and Miya followed me home. When I got there, I found some food ready for me on my arrival and Lilith welcomed me with a hug.
Mom was glad that I brought my friends along for the meal but to be honest I just let them follow me home We had diner at my place and carriages came to pick up the girls.
At night I took Lilith to train her on how she could use her new daggers.
The very next morning I found Saki waiting for me at the door and was asking ow I managed to befriend an elf let alone live in the some house without having her get a slave marking on her.
I just told her that it was just fine, and it was not a problem not having her have a slave marking on her because she didn't need it.
We started walking to school then she asked me why I trusted her with the finishing blow of the beast while I knew that I was strong enough to take care of it by myself.
My response was because I didn't want to drag too much attention on myself. It would be too troublesome if the whole village knew how strong I actually was, and I didn't want my mom to be in danger because of me.
When we got to school, we were met Miya and went to class. Hana was waiting for us in class and the other guys too.
Though I didn't know why Tatsuya was also waiting for us given his bad attitude last time, but I just let hm off.
We chatted for a while till the teacher came and announced that there was a new teacher who was assigned specifically to our class. His name was Justin walker he was our new class teacher.
He started teaching us when the teacher who came to announce his arrival was gone.
At break period me and the group went to eat at the cafeteria when Mr. Walker came to where we were seating and started chatting with us. It felt like he was trying to find something out from us when he was asking questions like who was the smartest among us and who was the strongest.
And when the girls said it was me, he seemed shocked. looking at his reaction, I'm sure he thought that one of the girls were smartest. and when he heard my last name, he was even more shocked.
Then I realized something, Mr. walker was investigating us. they way he was asking us questions was a little weird plus his reactions were weirder.
Seeing this I asked where Mr. walker came from before he started working for the school. He told us that he was working at the imperial city before he came to the village, but the break ended, and we went back to class.
In class he kept on asking me questions on the history of the village and how to use the energy found in the atmosphere and I answered most of them and the rest I let him correct them.
The history of the village were normal questions but the one about how one uses the energies of the world was a little too much for a student at the age of 15 to know since the books that we were allowed to use were limited to what class we were.
I answered but I made sure to leave out some details in order to avoid suspicion.
The day passed by very quickly that day and when we were going home, on the way I felt a gaze from someone following us. I ignored it for the time until me and the girl's parted ways. Then I went into an ally and waited for the pursuer to get close.
I called forth my sword that was sat home and it almost cut off his neck he took out his swords and deflected the attack.
when I turned around to see who it was, he tried to run away but he was unlucky.
He jumped on the roofs of the houses but slipped on an unsafe tile and fell down and the person was Justin.
He was spying on me and when I asked him why he was following me he just stood up and started running.
I caught up to him and asked why he was running then he tried to punch me
thought it felled and I caught his arm an threw him to the ground he kept on trying to escape so I decided to use more drastic measures.
I took my sword and put in by his neck to let him know that I could take him out at any time. This time he actually didn't try to resist. When I asked again why he was following me he said that he was ordered to look for potential students to have them participate in the kingdom's school's tournament.
Of course, I didn't believe him, but I told him that if he ever tries to follow me ever again, I wouldn't hesitate to cut off his neck then I let him go.
When I got back home, I found mom and Lilith on the table eating and to my suprise Lilith caled me big brother and asked me when we would go out play together. I just looked at her and told me that I will do tha on the weeked.
That night I took some time to think of what would make Justin follow me home, but I couldn't roll out the possibility that he was actually sent by the school to see if I had potential for the tournament but that didn't convince me though.
The way he asked me questions at the school and the way his following me was too much.
I just let it slide for the night and went to sleep and in the morning, I woke up to a lovely breakfast. to my surprise the breakfast was made by Lilith. Turns out that my mom was teaching her how to cook and they ramen with eggs and some beef.
When I was finished with the delicious meal they prepared for me, I praised Lilith and went to school.
Once again Saki was waiting at the door, I told her to just come in one of these days and since she was a noble, she was not supposed to be standing at my door step every day early in the morning.
But she just blushed and looked away for some reason. We went to school and her asked me when I was going to teach me some moves and help her choose a suitable sword for her. I told her that I would do that at the tournament coming up soon.
She the acted all surprised and asked me how I knew about the tournament. just told her that a friend from the school told me then I asked her how she knew about it, and she said that she that since she was a noble, she has access to all the information of the kingdom.
The tournament was just that important to the kingdom that every noble in the village knew about it.
Plus, it came every year but only a few nobles knew about it, and it was really surprising that for a commoner like me to know about it.
And that made me even more suspicious of Mr. walker. If this event was only meant for nobles, then why was I told about it.
