Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: The Taste of Adventure

If I had to name one of the wonders of One Piece, it would be the food.

Another would be the special physiques. Not to mention that mine is more than special.

God, how I love the fact that I can eat the same amount a battalion would need and still manage to maintain my weight.

In my previous life, I had a weak stomach. If I ate 1 kilo of anything, especially something derived from wheat and milk, I would already feel sick.

But here I can eat everything and in absurd quantities without it stopping being delicious to me.

Looking at the bones of the "eel," I touched my round belly that began to visibly deflate before my eyes.

By the way, what's most bizarre and wonderful about all this... Is that most of it becomes nutrients that increase my strength!

Pushing the chair back, I said as I stood up: "I'm satisfied. I'll get some sleep, wake me up when we arrive."

"How could you not be? You ate everything!" Nami rolled her eyes at me.

"You ate too." I pointed out.

"Oh, come on, I didn't eat even a third of what you ate." Nami argued.

I stopped, turning to her, and asked: "Really?"

"Yes, really."

"But do you think you ate a little or a lot?"

"Well, compared to Nojiko and Merida, I ate a lot, but not as much as you."

"Perfect." I asked: "But, as a woman, how do you feel?"

"How do I feel?" She seemed confused.

"Yes, are you satisfied with that?"

"What do you mean?"

"To be more clear." I asked: "Would you still eat the same amount you just did at a fancy event, for example?"

"Of course not!" She denied without thinking.

"Why not?"

"Because... it would be embarrassing."

"I don't get it, can you explain? How can eating be embarrassing?"

"It's not the eating itself, but eating more than you need."

"But, Nami-nee, when you ate, did you feel like you didn't need to eat all that, that you were already satisfied but still kept eating?"

"No, but..."

"Nami, Noah is making you dance in the palm of his hand, haven't you realized?" Merida said.

I looked at her incredulously: "Merida... I thought we had a special bond. That we were siblings from different mothers, but you... Sigh, in the end, you just can't trust anyone these days~"

I acted dramatically.

Mater suddenly said: "Guys, I think I see something."

I jumped up to the top of the mast, grabbing binoculars hanging from my waist, and I observed.

"It's a Marine ship," I said, noticing that the one leading it was a guy with pink hair and small eyes.

'So it's that guy,' I thought.

Fullbody, a Lieutenant from Marine Headquarters.

Next to him was a beautiful blonde woman with long legs.

"It's heading our way, should I shake them off?" Mater asked.

My body split in two.

"No need, I'll politely ask him to back off." I said.

Then, my clone simply jumped into the air and, 'stepping on air,' advanced toward the Marine ship at high speed with his hands in his pockets.

"It's that womanizer," Nami spat while watching through a telescope.

Nojiko laughed: "The one who compared you to an orange?"

"Crack!"

"Yes, him!" Nami agreed, breaking the binoculars as she tightened her grip.

"He's backing off," Nojiko teased: "Want to go teach him a lesson? Now that we're fugitives, it doesn't matter if you beat him up to your heart's content."

"Tempting, but no." She refused: "I'd rather head straight to Loguetown."

"You know Tashigi is our enemy now. Smoker too." Nojiko reminded.

"I don't care," Nami said. "I believe in them, and even if we do end up in a confrontation, I know they're just following orders."

"Nami... You've grown!" Nojiko gave her a motherly look.

"Oh, come on, stop it." Nami pushed Nojiko away as she tried to hug her.

When I looked at Merida, I saw that she had a distant look in her eyes.

"Missing home?" I asked.

She looked away, without answering.

"Maybe a little..." She murmured a few seconds later.

Then, she turned to me: "Don't get me wrong, I don't regret it, okay?"

"I know." I nodded.

I understood that she was talking about being summoned here and said that because she was afraid I'd feel bad for taking her away from her family.

In her words, the choice was still hers. Although I summoned her and played an important role in her coming here, she still had the final say in all of it.

Meanwhile, my clone returned.

In an instant, it became part of me again.

In a certain sense, it was like Naruto's shadow clones—at the moment it rejoined me, I saw what it saw.

The only difference was that making more than one was incredibly exhausting.

At least for now, my limit is three and it already leaves me mentally drained.

The reason for that was simple. I've only assimilated 17.1% of Zezé's card.

'Just like his mother, a hard card to assimilate...' I thought.

'Almost there.' Placing my hand behind my head, I went to the high area of the prow and laid down.

The day was already starting to darken, the sea breeze was quite fresh, seducing me more and more.

"Yawn~"

Turning over, I let sleep take over.

"Noah, Noah, wake up."

"Just 5 more minutes."

"We've already arrived."

"Yes, yes, I want it with soft yolk."

"Boy, do you only think about food? I said, we've arrived!"

Feeling a pull on my ear—even if my ear stretched, it didn't mean it didn't hurt—and whoever pulled it was malicious, because they were using Haki.

"Nojiko-nee?"

Opening my eyes, I was surprised that it was Nojiko and not Nami.

'Wasn't that Nami-nee's voice?'

My mind glitched.

That's when I saw Nami not far away laughing with her hands around her belly.

I rolled my eyes.

"Wow, so childish." I said, like the adult I am, not caring.

"Says the 'adult' who pretended to be sick just so Nojiko would take care of him."

"..."

"That never happened." I denied.

"Yeah, yeah, sure." Nami crossed her arms.

"Guys, we're arriving!" Mater announced.

"Okay, same as always." I stretched, then, after grabbing my Hook, I handed the magic carpet to Nojiko.

In an instant, the magic carpet became full of energy, flying around, until Nojiko, Nami, and Merida got on it.

Holding my Hook, I pointed to the sky and shouted: "Nihuuuuu!"

In an instant, I transformed into a large falcon.

My transformation improved a lot thanks to Zezé's card.

I could maintain my transformations for longer, and my transformed power was stronger.

Flying, I followed Nami, Nojiko, and Merida closely.

Meanwhile, Mater handed over control to Pegasus, who changed his form into a white winged horse.

"Neigh~!"

Pegasus flew toward me.

Canceling my transformation and mounting him: "Good boy."

I petted his head.

Then, catching up to the girls, I asked: "Do any of you want a ride?"

"Go, Nami." Nojiko said almost as encouragement.

"Well, there's not much space here, so just for that, I'll go." Nami said.

Nojiko was all smiles, and Merida was frowning.

Nami simply jumped and managed to mount behind me, placing her delicate arms around my waist.

"Let's go, buddy." I said.

Neighing, Pegasus quickly flew toward Loguetown.
