"No problem."
Romantina's soul ring was granted by the Skydream Iceworm himself. Since he could control her body, he naturally had access to the soul skills associated with it.
The pure white soul ring glowed, and two soul skills were activated simultaneously — perhaps because all four skills resided within a single ring, multiple abilities could be used at the same time.
Zhou Qing suddenly perceived a mental image of the entire layout of Nuoding Academy — buildings, roads, trees — everything was extremely clear. The only flaw was that the image lacked color; it was all rendered in black and white lines.
Normally, humans see color through the eyes, which receive light reflected from objects and pass the information to the brain.
But the spiritual detection skill worked differently. It spread out one's spiritual power to touch the outside world and returned information through that feedback.
In this format, the brain did not receive any data about external light or reflected light, so the resulting visualization was, naturally, black and white.
However, if someone's brain operated fast enough, they might be able to "colorize" the black-and-white imagery, giving the scanned world a rich and colorful appearance.
But clearly, Romantina's brain wasn't quite at that level yet.
"So? Impressive, right?" the Skydream Iceworm said smugly. "I relied on this exact skill to avoid my natural predators and survive long enough to reach my current stage. Back in my prime, I could scan nearly tens of thousands of kilometers!"
Tens of thousands of kilometers?
That was quite an impressive range, but—
"Have you ever considered this," Zhou Qing asked, "if you can sense that far… is this ability just for scouting the enemy?"
"What else would I use it for?" Skydream tilted his head and asked back.
"Sure, intelligence-gathering is important. But if that's all this ability is used for, don't you think it's a little… limited?" Zhou Qing said thoughtfully.
Indeed.
The Skydream Iceworm's ability was a god-tier technique for stealth surveillance — observing without being detected.
But Zhou Qing realized its greater potential was in how it mapped and rendered the scanned data within the mental sea — that is, the upper dantian (spiritual core).
And the second skill, Spiritual Link, allowed Romantina to connect her brow center (Yintang acupoint) with others and project the scanned data into their own upper dantian.
What did this mean?
It meant this was a bridge — a bridge between minds!
"I have an idea," Zhou Qing said with growing excitement. "If her first skill can fully recreate the external world inside the mind, forming a complete spiritual model of reality, and she refines it over time, then... with Romantina's brain-type Martial Soul, couldn't we create a mental world indistinguishable from the real one?"
"Then the second skill — Spiritual Link — would let others enter that world too!"
Skydream was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing.
"How does your brain even work?! That's genius! With me, a million-year soul beast, helping out, it just might be possible. In the future, we could construct a mental domain for Romantina that traps enemies inside — and while they're stuck, you guys could destroy their physical bodies. With me around, I can even suppress a Titled Douluo's mind!"
Zhou Qing: "...…"
Honestly, Skydream was clearly thinking on a different wavelength.
Was creating a mental world just for combat?
No Zhou Qing's true aim… was to build a fully immersive virtual reality game.
Okay, that wasn't the main goal, he quickly corrected himself.
If Romantina could perfectly recreate the Douluo Continent inside her spiritual realm, and then with the Skydream Iceworm's mastery over spiritual power simulate real-world operations…
Then that would be a simulator!
So what if he didn't have a golden finger (cheat system)?
He'd build one himself!
Even if Romantina didn't seem too smart on the outside, as long as the replicated spiritual world could "run" on its own, it didn't really matter how intelligent she was.
Just like a computer — you wouldn't say a computer had wisdom, right?
But once programmed, its logical processing far surpasses human calculations.
Romantina's Martial Soul — her brain — along with the intelligence-type soul ring granted by Skydream, was already equivalent to installing both hardware (brain soul) and software (intelligent soul ring) into a computer shell!
Of course, Romantina wouldn't be able to reach that level anytime soon.
So for now—
Zhou Qing figured the most practical use of Skydream's current two abilities — Spiritual Detection and Spiritual Link — was something else.
"Brother Skydream, can your detection ability scan yourself?"
"Huh? I've never even considered that."
Skydream had only ever used his spiritual skills to detect external threats, never internally.
"Then let's try it," Zhou Qing said eagerly.
"Use Spiritual Link on me first. Then I'll release my Martial Soul and soul ring. Focus, and see if you can observe the flow of soul power within the Martial Soul, inside the soul ring, and the connection between the two."
"You mean to see if they can be grafted together? Got it."
Skydream immediately understood what Zhou Qing was getting at — and he too was curious. If soul rings and Martial Souls could truly be "grafted" together, that would give him more options to get revenge on those who had drained his power and essence.
As Skydream focused his Spiritual Detection onto Zhou Qing, Zhou Qing suddenly shuddered.
It was an eerie sensation — like something unseen was watching him, dissecting every inch of his body.
And in his mind, a detailed anatomical diagram of himself appeared.
It was still in black and white, but extremely accurate — his clothing, skin, fat, muscles, bones, organs, blood vessels… all laid bare.
He could even zoom in and see individual cells.
[As expected of a million-year soul beast!]
Zhou Qing inwardly praised, turning his attention to his Martial Soul and soul ring.
With Skydream's help, he no longer needed to burn his own spiritual energy to observe their inner workings — making things far more efficient.
Now, the pathways inside the soul ring, and the circuits within the Martial Soul, appeared clearly before him.
And he noticed something.
Between the Martial Soul and the soul ring, in the region where they connected, multiple invisible "channels" existed — and inside these channels were countless tiny filaments.
Zhou Qing zoomed in again and saw that these fine threads came from both ends — some extended from the Martial Soul, others from the soul ring.
These threads hadn't fused perfectly together. Instead, they were merely held in place by an outer, invisible conduit, allowing soul power to flow through and activate the soul skills embedded in the soul ring.
Yet these filaments were undetectable to the naked eye — much like spatial abilities — and could only be observed with focused, high-level spiritual power.
As for why Huo Yuhao from Soul Land II never noticed this—
Zhou Qing figured it was due to perspective. Huo Yuhao, after all, was a native of the Douluo Continent. The idea that:
Soul power must reach a bottleneck before absorbing a soul ring,
The stronger the ring's age, the better the soul skill, was all just common sense to him and every other soul master.
So naturally, Huo Yuhao never questioned these fundamentals — and thus never explored the connection between soul rings, soul bones, and soul devices.
As a native, he was never going to question the system.
But Zhou Qing?
He came from a modern, information-rich society. Even if he wasn't some elite expert in his previous life, his imagination shaped by science fiction, simulations, and technology far surpassed the limited worldview of the Douluo natives.
