"Why won't you let me go?" Jungwon cried, his voice cracking with pain.
Sechan, the current CEO of Light Corp, stood frozen, watching as the man he had planned to marry fell apart before him.
He had made up his mind long ago—by hook or by crook, Jungwon would be his husband. No matter what it took.
But now, he was lost. He didn't know what to do anymore. All he wanted in that moment was to pull Jungwon into his arms and comfort him. But he couldn't. Jungwon kept a deliberate distance between them—a space wide enough to make it clear: he didn't want Sechan's touch.
All Jungwon wanted was peace. To leave this country and start over somewhere far away. But the man standing in front of him—the man who once promised him the world—was the very obstacle standing in his way.
Sechan looked at the hurt written all over Jungwon's face, and in that moment, he realized he had gone too far. He had crossed the line.
Slowly, Sechan sank to his knees.
"I'm sorry… I know I was wrong," he whispered, unable to meet Jungwon's eyes.
Jungwon didn't say a word. He simply pulled out his phone and dialed his best friend, Kwon, who had been waiting for this call, expecting to hear from Jungwon after his arrival in Canada.
"That was fast… Did he get there already?" Kwon thought as his phone rang.
He picked up. "Are you okay?" he asked, instantly sensing the pain in Jungwon's voice.
With a single word, Jungwon replied:
"Come pick me up."
Kwon was caught off guard. "W-what happened?"
"That's for later," Jungwon said quietly. "Just come pick me up."
Jungwon glanced down at Sechan, still on his knees. It hurt to see him like this. The truth was—he still had feelings for him. Deep down, that hadn't changed. But sometimes, love wasn't enough.
Without another word, Jungwon turned and walked away.
Sechan remained on the floor, unsure whether to feel relieved that Jungwon was leaving… or devastated by what he had done to push him away.
Jungwon woke up early that morning, filled with excitement—today was his first day at a new school.
All he could think about was the chance to meet new friends.
After getting ready and doing everything necessary, he hopped onto his bicycle and set off. As he pedaled down the street, he noticed other students in the same uniform heading in the same direction. He smiled quietly to himself and continued on his way.
But as soon as he arrived at the school gates, the excitement drained from his face, replaced by a wave of nervousness.
He stood still, his eyes darting left and right. Every face was unfamiliar. He suddenly felt very small in the sea of strangers.
Confused and unsure of where to go, Jungwon paused in the hallway, not knowing whether to turn left or right. Just then, another boy—clearly just as nervous and distracted—bumped right into Jungwon from behind.
"Ah! I'm so sorry!" the boy said immediately, his voice shaky.
Jungwon turned around, surprised, just as the boy extended his hand with an awkward smile.
"I'm Kwon. I'm new here… nice to meet you."
Despite his nerves, Jungwon smiled back and shook his hand. "Hi, I'm Jungwon. I'm also new… nice meeting you too."
They both laughed softly, their shared nervousness breaking the ice.
"Let's find our way together," they said in unison, and just like that, the tension began to fade.
Later, in their classroom, the two boys ended up sitting at the same desk. They chatted quietly, already planning how they would take their studies seriously and finish the school year with flying colors.
It was the beginning of something new—for both of them.
