Chapter 94: The Morning After the Glory
Monday, May 17, 2010
The morning sun streamed through the blinds of Crawley Town's modest club office, casting bright stripes across the worn carpet. Niels stepped inside, still feeling the tiredness from last night's celebration but quickly sharpening his focus. Despite the fatigue, he knew today was important.
The excitement from the victory parade still pulsed through him, the loud chants of "Craw-ley! Craw-ley!", Max lifting the FA Cup, Luka's wild dancing on the bus, and the crowd waving red scarves beneath fireworks. But the Club President's message asking for a private meeting at 10 a.m. left him feeling uneasy beneath the celebration's glow.
