Chapter 26 - Chapter 26 - Don't Do It, Brother Jie!

Pilipili Livestreaming Platform.

In Miss Pink Elf♪'s consistently popular livestream room.

A group of viewers was chatting idly while waiting for Elysia to start her broadcast.

They didn't want to miss Elysia's opening remarks.

However, today they might be disappointed.

Elysia's livestream room quietly began streaming, without the usual flamboyant greetings, just plainly displaying Honkai Impact 3rd's login screen.

It took a while for many viewers to even realize that the streamer had already gone live.

[???]

[Where's Miss Elf's opening?]

[Why is Miss Elf so quiet? Did I come to the wrong stream?]

"…"

Amidst the audience's confusion and eager anticipation, a distinctive, deep male voice resounded in Elysia's livestream room.

"You didn't expect it to be me, did you?"

[Holy crap?! Brother Jie! Is that you, Brother Jie?]

[Brother Jie, don't do it!]

[So, it's time for Miss Elf to slack off again. Is Brother Jie covering for her this time?]

Some of the longtime viewers in the livestream room quickly figured it out.

Of course, having someone else cover a stream was against the rules. However, given Miss Pink Elf♪'s popularity and her many friends, an occasional instance or two, especially when the substitute streamer was someone highly talked-about, was permissible.

They were no less engaging than regular big-name streamers.

The platform super admins mostly turned a blind eye.

[I really didn't expect it to be you, Brother Jie, hahaha.]

"Hmph~~ I didn't expect it either."

Qianjie's voice was tinged with impatient helplessness: "How ridiculous. If it weren't for that woman constantly nagging in my ear."

"Even saying things like, 'Oh dear, Qianjie, you're not shy, are you?'"

He paused, then feigned a stern tone: "Hmph, do I look like that kind of person?"

[Lol, dying of laughter. Brother Jie, are you doing a stand-up comedy routine for us?]

[I can't, ever since Brother Jie appeared in the stream, I haven't been able to stop laughing. My stomach hurts so much now. Brother Jie, please spare me.]

"Alright."

Qianjie's attitude towards the livestream audience was quite cold: "I'm streaming Honkai Impact 3rd today. Watch properly, and don't post any weird comments."

As he spoke, he logged into the game.

[I just love your rebellious attitude, Brother Jie.]

[Brother Jie, say a few more words! The kid loves to hear it (smirk).]

[By the way, the new S-rank Rita battlesuit, are you pulling for it, Brother Jie?]

"Not pulling. Who's Rita? Don't know her."

Qianjie had already clicked into the newly updated main story interlude.

The main story had just begun.

It started, as usual, with a recap of the plot.

However, this time the narrator was Rita: "With the awakening of the Herrscher of the Void, the world plunged into the Great Honkai. In just four short months, survivors fled in all directions, seeking refuge."

As her voice grew more impassioned.

The screen transitioned, revealing a large, international metropolis.

"Arc City, a technological city built by humanity in Shenzhou, became their sanctuary."

The camera panned down, showing Rita standing on the rooftop of a tall building, reviewing the latest intelligence report.

"Two weeks ago, someone witnessed the Herrscher of the Void appearing here. To find her whereabouts, Schicksal and Anti-Entropy simultaneously began their operations."

The prelude ended.

The game was now playable.

The story began with Rita reporting the situation to Otto, simultaneously bringing up a character named 'Gray Serpent,' and the fact that Theresa and others were about to arrive in Arc City.

"Otto actually isn't dead yet... Just how long does he plan to live?"

Qianjie cursed while reluctantly controlling Rita in her 'Huntress Armor: Shadow Iron' battlesuit to find Gray Serpent.

[Well cursed! Pure passerby, but I'm a fan of this streamer now!]

[Gotta say, Dog Tuo should just die already! Don't keep Brother Jie waiting too long.]

[Everyone, I have a bold idea. I want to hear Dog Tuo say, 'Brother Jie, don't do it!']

[Ugh, ugh, ugh~~ Person above, please retract your bold idea.]

The livestream audience was in a heated discussion. Qianjie, who was controlling his game character in combat, frowned slightly.

After dispatching an enemy with a clean combo.

He spoke: "Room mods, ban the people talking nonsense."

The room mod banned the viewer who had just lost their mind.

Rita had already arrived at the mission location.

"Mr. Gray Serpent, good evening. Are you waiting for someone?"

She greeted Gray Serpent elegantly and politely.

Gray Serpent, who was holding an umbrella for no apparent reason, replied:

"My bodyguards... were all taken care of by you alone."

Rita maintained her courteous demeanor: "Just a small habit, to make the negotiation venue a bit cleaner and tidier."

"Ah… It seems I've done some unnecessary things…"

"Hmm… To compensate for your losses, I can offer you a business deal, with generous returns."

[Is Rita threatening Gray Serpent? Suddenly, this kind of 'bad girl' character really hits my XP.]

[This character design seems a bit interesting.]

Because no one in this world knew Seele, no one felt that Rita appearing before Seele had squeezed out Seele's debut.

Therefore, the players' resentment towards Rita wasn't that strong.

"Tsk."

Qianjie clicked his tongue, his tone contemptuous: "What, is this the best you all can do?"

"Rita? Just Otto's tool. You actually like her? Hehehe~~"

Streamers who antagonized their audience weren't unheard of, but they were definitely very rare.

Especially antagonizing the audience in such a highly popular livestream room – that truly wasn't something an ordinary person could do.

The livestream room fell silent for a moment.

Then.

[As expected of you.]

[Grumpy Brother Jie, dissing the audience online.]

[I like Rita, and I'm going to whale on Rita's gacha pool! Brother Jie, diss me if you dare! Come on! (Ecstatic)]

"What are you trying to do?"

"She's merely a stumbling block on our path to defeating Otto. If you invest too much emotion, it will be like Himeko all over again. You people are truly foolish."

Qianjie maintained his scornful tone, lecturing the audience in the livestream room.

Meanwhile, the plot continued.

The subsequent content was much as the audience had imagined; Rita was indeed threatening Gray Serpent.

When she calmly mentioned Schicksal and told him to obediently hand over the intelligence, only to be refused by Gray Serpent.

Rita still maintained her smile, her tone unwavering.

"...Compared to an informant, you seem more like a poet. I almost can't bring myself to do it. However, I apologize. A mission is a mission, after all."

Shlick~~

Rita plunged her dagger into Gray Serpent's body.

Still wearing that gentle, sweet smile.

Then, she took out a silk handkerchief and elegantly wiped the blood from the blade.

With this segment of the story concluded, Rita's character became much clearer than before.

The audience members were all somewhat captivated by Rita.

[Brother Jie, this character is pretty good, are you really not pulling for her? Anyway, I'm already logging in to pull.]

[Get lost! Don't shake our resolve! My Brother Jie said he's not pulling, so he's not pulling!]
